Information systems for application areas like office automation, customer service or computer aided manufacturing are usually highly interactive and deal with complex document structures composed of multiple media formats. For the realization of these systems, nonstandard database systems, which we call document databases, need to handle different types of coarse-and fine-grained document objects(like full-text documents, graphics and images), hierarchical and non-hierarchical relationships between objects(like composition-links and cross-references using hypertext structures) and document attributes of different types such as formatting/presentation information and access control. In this paper, we present the underlying data model for document databases based on descriptive markup languages that provide mechanisms for specifying the logical structure(or schema) of individual documents stored in the database. We then describe extensions to the data model for supporting notion of composite structures("join" operators for documents) --composition and hyperlinking mechanisms for representing compound documents and inter-linked documents as unique entites separate from their components. Furthermore, due to the interactive nature of the application domains, the database system in conjunction with clients(or browsers) has to support visual navigation and graphical query mechanisms. We describe the functionality of a new user interface paradigm called HyBrow for meeting the above mentioned requirements. The underlying implementation strategy is also discussed.discussed.
In IPTV multicast architecture, the IGMP(Internet Group Management Protocol) is used for access networks. This protocol supports the functionality of join or leave for a specific multicast channel group. But, malicious attackers can disturb legitimate users being served appropriately. By using spoofed IGMP messages, attackers can hi-jack the premium channel, wasting bandwidth and exhausting the IGMP router's resources. To prevent the message spoofing, we can introduce the packet-level authentication methods. But, it causes the additional processing overhead to an IGMP processing router, so that the router is more susceptible to the flooding attacks. In this paper, we propose the two-level authentication scheme in order to mitigate the IGMP flooding attack.

There are two approaches, HA(Home Agent)-based and FA(Froegn Agent)-based mulicasting in mobile computing environments based on mobile IP. If we consider efficiency of routing and bandwidth the FA-based model is better than the HA-based model. But in the case of a MH(Mobile Host) moves frequently it shows bad connection durability because of join and graph delays. To overcome this and to support effective mobile multicasting we propose an extended FA-based multicast routing. In our model previous FA for wards multicast packets to MH. while new FA processes a jion request from MH. That is in general case our model supports FA-based multicasting for efficiency but it provides unicast-based mulicasting for connection durability when MH moves to new FN(Roreign Network). To evaluate our model, we analyze connecction durability, bandwidth, overheads and routing sosts in many situations and compare with previous works.
When any data-centric XML documents are stored and managed in RDBMS, schema extracting from XML Schema is an imminent problem. Furthermore, when they are stored in partitioned way on created table, lots of null values will be produced and/or be increased cost for join, so we need a solution to solve these problems. This paper proposes a Schema Hybrid Inlining technique to generate relational schema of XML documents. The suggested technique creates a relational schema based on the XML Schema graph. Also, the technique expands the legacy Inlining method by manual and heuristic processing table generation method of cardinality and in-degree. Then, an ancestor node, terminal node, and creating a new table on the derived relation in this technique. DTD-dependent storage method uses partitioned storing and relation path element information reformed structured-searching method to reduce joining operation cost that is a weak point of it.

The Document Management System(DMS) is a system which retrieves and manages library information efficiently. Since DMS manages the information using only one table, it does not need to provide join and view operations that spend high cost in traditional DBMS. In addition, DMs requires new operations because of their property. the operation has not been supported in existing DBMSs. In this paper we define a data language which represents the structure definition and process of data on the DMS. Especially we define Ranking and Proximity operation which is needed in Document Retrieval,. We also design and implement a query processor to process the query constructed with the data language. When the exiting query processors of relational DBMS are used as a query processor of DMS, they degrade the whole system performance. The proposed query processor not only overcomes such a problem but also supports new operation which is needed in DMS.

The join of remote sensing and GIS(Geographic Information System) could be useful in various fields of marine information and land information as well as ITS(Intelligent Transport Systems). This paper is LPF(Low Pass Filtering) for the extraction of island detection in coastal zone Iron SPOT imagery which is 10m resolution photograph. The study area is based on the southern sea in korea. Sobel operator performed the extraction of island detection in coastal zone after the LPF processing by remote sensing. And, GIS was used to generate from raster to vector data. As the result, The best way prove out the 5${\times}$5 convolution mask about the LPF processing of island detection in coastal zone. It is judged the research which it sees with the fact that the presentation of very scientific and reasonable data will be possible from the oceanic dispute will occur from the EEZ(Exclusive Economic Zone).
More than a decade after its initial proposal, deployment of IP Multicast has been limited due to the problem of traffic control in multicast routing, multicast address allocation in global internet, reliable multicast transport techniques etc. Lately, according to increase of multicast application service such as internet broadcast, real time security information service etc., overlay multicast is developed as a new internet multicast technology. In this paper, we describe an overlay multicast protocol and propose fast join mechanism that considers switching of the tree. To find a potential parent, an existing search algorithm descends the tree from the root by one level at a time, and it causes long joining latency. Also, it is try to select the nearest node as a potential parent. However, it can't select the nearest node by the degree limit of the node. As a result, the generated tree has low efficiency. To reduce long joining latency and improve the efficiency of the tree, we propose searching two levels of the tree at a time. This method forwards joining request message to own children node. So, at ordinary times, there is no overhead to keep the tree. But the joining request came, the increasing number of searching messages will reduce a long joining latency. Also searching more nodes will be helpful to construct more efficient trees. In order to evaluate the performance of our fast join mechanism, we measure the metrics such as the search latency and the number of searched node and the number of switching by the number of members and degree limit. The simulation results show that the performance of our mechanism is superior to that of the existing mechanism.
XML data generally consists of a hierarchical tree-structure which is reflected in mechanisms to store and retrieve XML data. Therefore, when storing XML data in the database, the hierarchical relationships among the XML elements are taken into consideration during the restructuring and storing of the XML data. Also, in order to support the search queries from the user, a mechanism is needed to compute the hierarchical relationship between the element structures specified by the query. The structural join operation is one solution to this problem, and is an efficient computation method for hierarchical relationships in an in database based on the node numbering scheme. However, in order to process a tree structured XML query which contains a complex nested hierarchical relationship it still needs to carry out multiple structural joins and results in another problem of having a high query execution cost. Therefore, in this paper we provide a preprocessing mechanism for effectively reducing the cost of multiple nested structural joins by applying the concept of equivalence classes and suggest a query path reduction algorithm to shorten the path query which consists of a regular expression. The mechanism is especially devised to reduce path queries containing branch nodes. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce the time requited for processing the path queries to 1/3 of the original execution time.
As OWL(Web Ontology Language) has been selected as a standard ontology description language by W3C, many ontologies have been building and developing in OWL. The lena developed by HP as an Application Programming Interface(API) provides various APIs to develop inference engines as well as storages, and it is widely used for system development. However, the storage model of Jena2 stores most owl documents not acceptable into a single table and it shows low processing performance for a large ontology data set. Most of all, Jena2 storage model does not consider hierarchical structures of classes and properties. In addition, it shows low query processing performance using the hierarchical structure because of many join operations. To solve these issues, this paper proposes an OWL ontology relational database model. The proposed model semantically classifies and stores information such as classes, properties, and instances. It improves the query processing performance by managing hierarchical information in a separate table. This paper also describes the implementation and evaluation results. This paper also shows the experiment and evaluation result and the comparative analysis on both results. The experiment and evaluation show our proposal provides a prominent performance as against Jena2.
For effective analyses in various business applications, OLAP(On-Line Analytical Processing) systems represent the multidimensional data as the horizontal format of tables whose columns are corresponding to values of dimension attributes. Because the traditional RDBMSs have the limitation on the maximum number of attributes in table columns(MS SQLServer and Oracle permit each table to have up to 1,024 columns), horizontal tables cannot be directly stored into relational database systems. In this paper, we propose various efficient optimization strategies in transforming horizontal queries to equivalent vertical queries. To achieve this goral, we first store a horizontal table using an equivalent vertical table, and then develop various query transformation rules for horizontal table queries using the PIVOT operator. In particular, we propose various alternative query transformation rules for the basic relational operators, selection, projection, and join. Here, we note that the transformed queries can be executed in several ways, and their execution times will differ from each other. Thus, we propose various optimization strategies that transform the horizontal queries to the equivalent vertical queries when using the PIVOT operator. Finally, we evaluate these methods through extensive experiments and identify the optimal transformation strategy when using the PIVOT operator.
