비선형 폭발해석에 의한 콘크리트 구조물의 손상도 평가 (Nonlinear Explosion Analyses for Damage Assessments of Reinforced Concrete Structures)

  • 일반적으로 구조물에 폭발, 충돌, 지진과 바람 등과 같이 짧은 시간에 큰 하중이 작용하게 되면 구조물은 국부적으로 재료의 대변형(large deformation), 대회전(large rotation), 대변형률(large strain)등이 발생하게 된다. 이와 같은 현상을 해석하려면 전산연속체 역학에 기초하여 유체-구조물 상호작용 등을 고려할 수 있는 하이드로코드(Hydrocode)의 도움이 필요하다. 또한, 폭발로 인해 발생되는 순간 동역학적인 폭발 메커니즘은 매우 복잡하기 때문에 폭발실험을 병행하여 거동을 예측하는 것이 합리적인 방법이지만 막대한 비용과 시설이 요구되므로 한계가 있는 것도 사실이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 하이드로코드인 AUTODYN을 사용하여 폭발해석한 결과를 기수행된 철근콘크리트 슬래브의 폭발실험 결과와 비교하여 폭발해석 방법의 타당성을 검토하였고, 동일한 폭발해석 모형에 대하여 철근 배근간격, 피복두께의 변화 및 수직철근 유무에 따른 폭발 손상도를 비교검토하였다. 검토한 결과, 철근의 배근간격에 대한 철근콘크리트 슬래브 두께의 비가 커질수록, 지름이 큰 철근보다 지름이 작은 철근을 많이 사용할수록, 마지막으로 수직철근을 배근할수록 콘크리트 구조물의 내폭성능이 향상됨을 알 수 있었다.

다양한 형상의 우주 물체와 충돌 각도를 고려한 우주 구조물의 초고속 충돌 시뮬레이션 연구 (Hypervelocity Impact Simulations Considering Space Objects With Various Shapes and Impact Angles)

  • 본 연구에서는 다양한 형상의 우주 물체와 우주 구조물 사이의 충돌 각도를 고려한 초고속 충돌(Hypervelocity impact) 시뮬레이션 연구를 수행하였다. 비선형 구조 동역학 전산 해석 프로그램인 LS-DYNA의 완화 입자 유동법(Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics, SPH)을 사용하여 초고속 충돌 현상을 묘사하였으며, 금속 재료의 비선형 거동을 구현하기 위하여 Mie-Grüneisen의 상태 방정식과 Johnson-Cook의 재료 모델을 사용하였다. 구, 정육면체, 원기둥 및 원뿔 형상의 다양한 형상의 우주 물체를 이용하였으며, 우주 구조물은 알루미늄 평판(200 mm×200 mm×2 mm)으로 모델링되었다. 우주 물체가 우주 구조물 대비 4.119 km/s의 상대 속도로 충돌하는 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 동일 질량을 갖는 다양한 형상의 우주 물체와 우주 구조물 사이의 0°, 30° 및 45°의 충돌 각도를 고려하였을 시 초고속 충돌에 의하여 발생되는 파편운(debris cloud) 형상을 분석하였다. 동일한 운동 에너지를 갖는 우주 물체는 형상의 차이로 인해 모두 다른 파편운이 형성되었다. 더불어 충돌 각도의 증가에 따라 파편운의 크기가 줄어드는 경향을 확인하였다.

열성형 판 부재의 동적거동에 관련된 재료상수 산출에 관한 연구 (On the Derivation of Material Constants Associated with Dynamic Behavior of Heat Formed Plates)

  • 구조물에 충격하중이 작용하면, 그 구조물은 통상적으로 대변형을 동반하는 소성변형과 최종적으로 그에 따른 파단을 경험하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 사고적 극한 상태에 대한 합리적인 설계를 위해 열성형된 판과 냉간성형된 판의 재료상수를 고속인장시험에 대한 수치시현을 통해 정의하였다. 변형율이 중간 속도 이하인 경우에는 변형율 속도의 영향을 무시할 수 있다는 가정과 함께 Cower-Symond 모델과 John-Cook 모델에 포함되는 재료상수들의 유용성을 참고문헌들의 결과와 비교하여 입증하였다. 본 논문은 향후 연구 내용에 대한 언급을 포함하면서 마무리하였다.

  • As a way to improve the safety of automotives and to reduce the weight of vehicles, new forming technologies and advanced materials are in high demand in the automotive industry. However, the advanced strength steel has inferior formability and large springback. In order to overcome such drawbacks, the hot press forming process (HPF) has been being applied for forming of automotive sheet parts. In this work, new equipment was suggested to measure unlimited displacement range compared to previous one which was able to measure only up to 10mm displacement range. The external extensometer connected with grips by wire was applied to equipment so that total strain range was measured up to failure also in high temperature. And the finite element analysis was conducted to characterize the mechanical properties of the HPF steel. Finally, the flow curves were represented by utilizing the Johnson-Cook type equation both in uniform and post-uniform deformation regions.

조선 해양 구조물용 강재의 소성 및 파단 특성 II: 파단의 이론적 배경 (Plasticity and Fracture Behaviors of Marine Structural Steel, Part II: Theoretical Backgrounds of Fracture)

  • The main goal of this paper is to provide the theoretical background for the fracture phenomena in marine structural steels. In this paper, various fracture criteria are theoretically investigated: shear failure criteria with constant failure strain and stress triaxiality-dependent failure strain (piecewise failure and Johnson-Cook criteria), forming limit curve failure criterion, micromechanical porosity failure criterion, and continuum damage mechanics failure criterion. It is obvious that stress triaxiality is a very important index to determine the failure phenomenon for ductile materials. Assuming a piecewise failure strain curve as a function of stress triaxiality, the numerical results coincide well with the test results for smooth and notched specimens, where low and high stress triaxialities are observed. Therefore, it is proved that a failure criterion with reliable material constants presents a plastic deformation process, as well as fracture initiation and evolution.

  • Vacuum interrupters in order to be used in various switch-gear components such as circuit breakers, distribution switches, contactors, etc. spread the arc uniformly over the surface of the contacts. The electrodes of vacuum interrupters are made of sinter-forged Cu-Cr materials for good electrical and mechanical characteristics. Since the closing velocity is 1-2m/s and impact deformation of the electrode depends on the strain rate at that velocity, the dynamic behavior of the sinter-forged Cu-Cr is a key to investigate the impact characteristics of the electrodes. The dynamic response of the material at intermediate strain rate is obtained from the high speed tensile test machine test and at the high strain rate is obtained from the split Hopkinson pressure bar test. Experimental results from both quasi-static and dynamic compressive tests are interpolated to construct the Johnson-Cook model as the constitutive relation that should be applied to simulation of the dynamic behavior of the electrodes. The impact characteristics of a vacuum interrupter are investigated with computer simulations by changing the amount of chromium content.

미소 전단 띠 형성에 의한 톱니형 칩 생성 예측 (Prediction of Serrated Chip Formation due to Micro Shear Band in Metal)

  • Adiabatic shear bands have been observed in the serrated chip during high strain rate metal cutting process of medium carbon steel and titanium alloy. The recent microscopic observations have shown that dynamic recrystallization occurs in the narrow adiabatic shear bands. However the conventional flow stress models such as the Zerilli-Armstrong model and the Johnson-Cook model, in general, do not predict the occurrence of dynamic recrystallization (DRX) in the shear bands and the thermal softening effects accompanied by DRX. In the present study, a strain hardening and thermal softening model is proposed to predict the adiabatic shear localized chip formation. The finite element analysis (FEA) with this proposed flow stress model shows that the temperature of the shear band during cutting process rises above 0.5T$\sub$m/. The simulation shows that temperature rises to initiate dynamic recrystallization, dynamic recrystallization lowers the flow stress, and that adiabatic shear localized band and the serrated chip are formed. FEA is also used to predict and compare chip formations of two flow stress models in orthogonal metal cutting with AISI 1045. The predictions of the FEA agreed well with the experimental measurements.

관성효과가 고려된 강소성 유한요소법을 이용한 고속변형해석 (High-Velocity Deformation Analysis Using the Rigid-Plastic Finite Elemement Method Considering Inertia Effect)

  • The rigid-plastic finite element formulation including the inertia force is derived and then the rigid-plastic finite elemnt program considering the inertia effect is developed. In order to consider the strain hardening, strain rate hardening and thermal softening effects which are frequentrly observed in high-velocity deformation phenomena, the Johnson-Cook constitutive odel is applied. The developed program is used to simulate two high-velocity deformation problemss ; rod impact test and hdigh-velocity compression precess. As a result of rod impact test simulation, it is found that the siulated result has a good agreement with the experimental observation. Through the high-velocity compression process simulation. it is also found that the accuracy of the simulated results is dependent upon the time increment size and mesh size.

유한요소해석과 가공실험을 통한 마이크로 밀링가공의 가공특성평가 (An Evaluation of Machining Characteristics in Micro-scale Milling Process by Finite Element Analysis and Machining Experiment)

  • Analytical solution of micro-scale milling process is presented in order to suggest available machining conditions. The size effect should be considered to determine cutting characteristics in micro-scale cutting. The feed per tooth is the most dominant cutting parameter related to the size effect in micro-scale milling process. In order to determine the feed per tooth at which chips can be formed, the finite element method is used. The finite element method is employed by utilizing the Johnson-Cook (JC) model as a constitutive model of work material flow stress. Machining experiments are performed to validate the simulation results by using a micro-machining stage. The validation is conducted by observing cutting force signals from a cutting tool and the conditions of the machined surface of the workpiece.

고속 타격단조시 발생되는 편심부하의 유한요소해석 (Finite element analysis of eccentric loading in high-velocity impact forging)

  • The high-velocity impact forging process with eccentric loading condition is analyzed using the explicit time integration finite element method. In order to consider the strain hardening, strain rate hardening and thermal softening effects, which are frequently observed in high-velocity deformation phenomena, the Johnson-Cook constitutive model is applied to model the workpiece. It is assumed that the material response of the dies is elastic in the study. As a result of the eccentric loading simulation, it is found that the increase of the eccentric ratio and the allowable tilting angle cause the decrease of the maximum forging load and the blow efficiency, and it is also found that the forging load and the blow efficiency generated in the high-velocity impact forging process with three-dimensional geometry can be obtained efficiently.
