  • This study investigates the effect of work environment-in terms of job demands and job resources-on worker job engagement and burnout based on the JD-R model. The aim is to provide preliminary data to formulate policy and practical measures to strengthen job engagement and prevent burnout of workers at a community children's center. To this end, a self-administered questionnaire was answered by 447 workers at such a center in the city of Daejeon, Korea, and the results were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0. The research model had a statistically acceptable fit, with CFI = .900, TLI = .887, and RMSEA = .077. The following correlations were found among the key variables: i) a greater perceived amount of job resources led to a stronger worker job engagement but did not directly influence worker burnout; ii) more perceived job demands caused a higher worker burnout but did not directly influence worker job engagement; and iii) the greater the worker job engagement, the less burned out the workers were. These conclusions contribute to understanding the effect of the work environment on worker job engagement and burnout based on the JD-R model. We emphasize the need to improve this environment in community children's centers with supportive policy and practical measures to enhance worker job engagement and reduce burnout.

  • This study was an attempt to examine the basic scheme required for the job analysis of healthy family-center workers in the context of human resource management. For this purpose, factors including frequency, importance, priority, and difficulty were examined. The job classification and concrete job activities were extracted from the interviews of eight healthy family-center workers, and these factors were then analyzed from the recordings. From the results of this study, 28 job tasks were collected and the four job types were classified. The results can be used for job analysis and human resource development (HRD). This study suggests that various methods should be used for job analysis and that a large number of samples should be utilized for the further studies.

  • Background: A job-specific Worker's Health Surveillance (WHS) for hospital physicians is a preventive occupational health strategy aiming at early detection of their diminished work-related health in order to improve or maintain physician's health and quality of care. This study addresses what steps should be taken to determine the content of a job-specific WHS for hospital physicians and outlines that content. Methods: Based on four questions, decision trees were developed for physical and psychological job demands and for biological, chemical, and physical exposures to decide whether or not to include work-related health effects related to occupational exposures or aspects of health reflecting insufficient job requirements. Information was gathered locally through self-reporting and systematic observations at the workplace and from evidence in international publications. Results: Information from the decision trees on the prevalence and impact of the health- or work-functioning effect led to inclusion of occupational exposures (e.g., biological agents, emotionally demanding situations), job requirements (e.g., sufficient vision, judging ability), or health effects (e.g., depressive symptoms, neck complaints). Additionally, following the Dutch guideline for occupational physicians and based on specific job demands, screening for cardiovascular diseases, work ability, drug use, and alcohol consumption was included. Targeted interventions were selected when a health or work functioning problem existed and were chosen based on evidence for effectiveness. Conclusion: The process of developing a job-specific WHS for hospital physicians was described and the content presented, which might serve as an example for other jobs. Before implementation, it must first be tested for feasibility and acceptability.

However, the desired effective results were not fully obtained by many reasons such as the shortage of qualified workers, lack of eligible women's cooperation and understanding of the importance of family planning etc., The field family planning workers is classified into two categories along the governmental personnel order; the senior field worker and the assistant field worker. The former is qualified licensed nurse and the latter same as the former of a certified nurses-aid. These family planning worker's roles are somewhat in change not only in field education, distribution of contraceptions, administrating mother's class of assistant field workers but also responsible for the senior field workers such as recording, reporting and keeping statistics. Therefor, the desired success of family planning programming in Korea depends on family planning worker's professional abilities and activities in the field. In aiming to study on professional knowledge of the above two kinds of family planning workers, the following results were obtained through a field survey with question airs done as of October, 1970 in Kyonggi-Do. 1. This study used a multi-level analysis model that calculated the child factor (level 1) and the social worker factor (level 2) by utilizing the responses of 31 social workers and 216 children used at 31 community children's centers. The main research results are as follows: First, it was found that 34.3% of the total variation in child satisfaction was due to differences by community children's centers.
