본 연구는 치위생과 학생들의 새로운 직업가치관 유형을 구명하는데 있으며, 3개 대학 치위생과 신입생 280명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였으며, 이 중 242매를 분석하였다. 2차에 걸친 요인분석에 의해 직업가치관을 유형화 하였으며, 이 연구를 통해 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 치위생과 신입생들의 직업가치관 유형은 (1) 지위 (2) 경제적 보상 (3) 사회 기여 (4) 성취 (5) 능력 (6) 직업흥미 등 6개 유형으로 분류할 수 있다. 2. 사회기여, 성취, 능력, 직업흥미 유형은 내재적 가치관으로, 지위와 경제적 보상 유형은 외재적 직업가치관으로 분류할 수 있다. 3. 치위생과 신입생들의 외재적 가치관(4.24점)은 내재적 가치관(3.86점)보다 다소 높게 나타났다. 4. 치위생과 신입생들이 중요하게 생각하는 직업가치관 유형은 경제적 보상(4.39점), 지위(4.09점), 성취(4.07점), 능력(3.98점), 직업흥미(3.91점), 사회기여(3.46점) 순으로 나타났다.
This study was aimed to be able to dedicate to the quality promotion of nursing of the nurses and the development of hospital organization by investigating interrelations between job satisfaction degree and organizational commitment of the clinical nurses. The objects of this study have been 507 nurses working in university hospital in Seoul and the materials have been collected through structured questionnaires for 14 days from Feb. 23. 1998 through March 8. The materials have been analyzed and computerized statistically with SPSS. General characteristics have been analyzed by practical number and percentage. and job satisfaction degree and organizational commitment have been analyzed by average evaluation marks and standard deviation and the relation between general characteristics and job satisfaction degree and the relation between general characteristics and organizational commitment have been analyzed by t-test or F-test(ANOVA) according to the characteristics of variable. Correlations between job satisfaction degree and organizational commitment have been analyzed by Pearson's Correlation Coefficient. The followings are the summaries of the results of the study: 1. The degree of job satisfaction of the object was 3.26 in average on the basic of 5 marks and worth area showed highest by 3.78 while wage and welfare 2.70 the lowest when analyzed 11 areas. 2. Organizational commitment of the object showed 3.24 in average on the basic of 5 marks. 3. According to the age. marital status. educational background. employment experience. experience in current department. position. types of work. department of work. wage, satisfaction about the current department, whether they wish to be transferred to the other department and whether they are transferred or not. there were significant differences in the characters of job satisfaction degree when general characteristics and job satisfaction degree have been examined. 4. According to the age. marital status. religion. educational background. employment history. position and experience in current department. types of work. department of work. wage. satisfaction about the department they are assigned. whether they wish to be transferred. Whether they are transferred or not and number of being transferred to the other department. there have been significant differences in the characters of organizational commitment when general characteristics and organizational commitment have been examined relatively. 5. Correlations between the degree of job satisfaction and organizational commitment has shown the degree of organizational commitment higher respectively when the degree of job satisfaction was higher. the degree of sanitation factor was higher and the degree of motive factor was higher (r=.73799. r=.6826. r=.6570). 6. The result of the analysis of correlations between organizational commitment and the turnover intension and job related action has shown comparatively high reverse correlations (r=.6375) between organizational commitment and turnover intension and low reverse correlations(r=.3253) between organizational commitment and job related action. Based on the above results. the study of the ways of increasing the degree of satisfaction about wage. welfare. position and stability and the supervision of the senior which showed the low degree of job satisfaction should be conducted and through the management of the degree of job satisfaction which affects to the organizational commitment, I would like to propose that the ways of increasing the sense of commitment to the hospital organization of the nurses should be studied.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the level of job stress, burn-out and job satisfaction between intensive care unit nurses and general unit nurses. Methods: The subjects of this study were 100 intensive care unit nurses and 100 general unit nurses in university's hospitals. The data were collected using self-report questionnaires. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, -test, ANCOVA, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficient by using the SPSS WIN 20.0 program. Results: There were significantly negative correlation in the score of job stress and job satisfaction in both groups of nurses. Job stress of intensive care unit nurses was significantly differences according to department satisfaction. Burn-out of intensive care unit nurses was significantly differences according to position, department satisfaction. Job satisfaction of intensive care nurses unit was significantly differences according to department satisfaction. Job stress of general unit nurses unit was significantly differences according to department satisfaction. Burn-out of general unit nurses was significantly differences according to clinical experience, position, department satisfaction. Job satisfaction of general unit nurses was significantly differences according to clinical experience, department satisfaction. Conclusions: The appropriate rewards for intensive care nurses and general unit nurses to decrease their job stress will be needed in hospital settings. In addition, a plan for systemic nurse training program is needed to provide high quality nursing education for each unit nurses effectively.
Objective: In this study, in order to investigate the relationship between leadership type and job satisfaction, the types of leadership in medical institutions are divided into transformational leadership, servant leadership and authentic leadership. In addition medical staff and non-medical staff are classified according to their job characteristics, and middle managers and operators are classified according to position. Methods: For this purpose, 589 questionnaires were applied to the medical institutions in Seoul and Gyunggi-do, and empirically analyzed with multiple regression. Results: The results of this study are first, among gender, medical or non-medical staff, position and career experience, men, non-medical staffs, and middle managers showed higher leadership, job engagement, and job satisfaction. Second, servant leadership and authentic leadership have significant positive relationships with job engagement. In the case of medical staff, only servant leadership has a positive effect on job engagement, while in the case of non-medical staff, both servant leadership and authentic leadership have significant influence on job engagement. Job satisfaction was found to have a statistically significant effect of servant leadership and authentic leadership in medical staff and non-medical staff. Third, in the case of middle managers, servant leadership showed a statistically significant effect only on job satisfaction, while servant leadership and authentic leadership had statistically significant effects on job engagement and job satisfaction of operators. Conclusions: This study suggests the possibility and applicability of authentic leadership in addition to transformational leadership and servant leadership in hospital organizations. Also, by identifying differences in the effects on organizational effectiveness, it is also suggested the need for research on identifying leadership factors that reflect strictly distinctive job characteristics.
Metro subway construction is a field that requires a great deal of professional manpower. The aging of professionals has a negative impact on both productivity and health, owing to poor working environments, heavy lifting, underground work, and other factors. To address this issue, the government is progressively revising and enforcing health management law and regulation in the construction industry. Thus, the job stress and work ability of many professional subway construction workers, who are rapidly aging, are being analyzed to ensure their safety and improve their health. In this study, the Macpa stress index of Busan Metro Subway construction workers from Sasang to Hadan line was measured by using a Macpa measurement machine, and a work ability survey was conducted by using the questionnaire that was developed by the FIOH. The independent variables were age, years of service, job position, employment type, and occupation. While, the dependent variables were the Macpa stress index and work ability. The Kruskal-Wallis test was used because it was difficult to assume that the statistics of this study represented a normal distribution. The results showed that age, job position, and employment type affected Macpa stress index and revealed that as the age of the workers increased, their stress levels increased as well. Additionally, job position and employment type affected the work ability of the metro subway construction workers. In terms of job position, the technical engineers were under a lot of stress, and whereas the managers had the best work ability. The technical engineers were more stressed than the other workers because of a poor working environment. In terms of employment type, daily workers were under more stress and lower work ability than others.
The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between the nursing organizational characteristics and job satisfaction. Subjects were 362 nurses at a general hospital in Seoul. Data were collected from November 1, 1999 to November 31, 1999 with the structured questionnaires and analyzed by $SPSS-PC^+$ 8.0 for descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. The results were as follows; 1. The average score of the nursing organizational characteristics was 3.7. The score of head nurse's leadership was highest and supervisor's was lowest. The average score of the job satisfaction was 3.1 and was similar to the results of other studies. 2. Being regarded to the nursing organizational characteristics and job satisfaction by general demographic variables, The head nurse's leadership, the supervisor's leadership and interaction, and the overall nursing organizational characteristics showed significant differences by year of career, position status, and service-department(p<.1, p<.05). The job satisfaction showed significant difference by position status(p<.01). 3. There were correlations between the nursing organizational characteristics and job satisfaction(r=0.358-0.815). 4. The most important variable in the job satisfaction was 'organizational climate' and it was explained 32.0% out of the total variance of job satisfaction and 'all of nursing organizational characteristic factors' explained 47.5%. According to the results of this study, the suggestions were as follow: 1. To improve nurses' job satisfaction, the strategy for the development of the cooperative nursing organizational climate and for the strengthening of 'the nursing manager's leadership and interaction' in the nursing department are necessary. It should to be considered the differences in the nursing organizational characteristics and job satisfaction by nursing manager and staff nurses. 2. Further study needed to analysis the organizational climate for the management of the nursing organization. Also it is necessary for further investigation regarding to the relationship between the nursing organizational characteristics and job satisfaction of pre and post-organizational change.
The levels of psychosocial stresses of dental hygienist were analyzed to reveal the various factors related to them. The self-administered questionnaires were performed, to 276 dental hygienist in Daejeon City. Univariate analysis and multiple regression were performed with survey results, in which a degree of psychosocial stress was dependent variable and others were independent variable. 1. In terms of various levels of psychosocial stress according to the higher level of stress was found in the group of lower age, unmarried, and without spare times for hobby activities, the group with shorter-term job career, lower salary, and stress was found in the group who think that their job is considered as low position or their job is not high position in society or their prospect about job is discouraging, the group without regularly exercise, without regularly eating habits, in the group with higher level of job demand, lower job autonomy, and lower social support from colleagues in work than their respective counterparts. 2. Concerning correlation between psychosocial stress and various factors, while level of stress was negatively correlated with age, job career, salary, socioeconomic status of oneself, socioeconomic status of dental hygienist, future status of dental hygienist, job autonomy, social support from superiors, social support from colleagues, social support, but it was positively correlated with job demand. 3. Multiple regression revealed that the factors which influence on psychosocial stress included hobby activities, sleeping hours, job demand, which has explanatory powers of 29.9%. Therefore, to reduce of stress of dental hygienists, it is required to develop an effective strategy that institutional support for improvement of job environments and research for them be revitalized.
This study explores the variables that predict the job satisfaction of clothing salespeople. A total of 270 questionnaires obtained from clothing salespeople were submitted for analysis. The results show that job stress was a negative influence whereas customer-orientation and self-efficacy were positive influences on the job satisfaction of clothing salespeople. The relationships were repeatedly investigated by the groups divided by personal and store characteristics. Job stress was not different by job experience, job position, and the price level of the products for sale; however, customer orientation, self-efficacy, and job satisfaction were different by those factors. In the case of more experienced salespeople with high positions, job stress would not be a predictor of job satisfaction. The study findings confirmed variables predicting job satisfaction, as well as revealed some personal and store characteristics that can affect the relationships of the variables.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the job of emergency room (ER) nurses working in small and medium sized hospitals and to explore factors affecting their job. Methods: The survey data were collected between January 2014 and May 2014 and participants were 159 nurses working in Seoul, Kyunggi, Incheon, and Chungnam in hospitals of less than 500 beds. Results: The score for nurses job was 2.12/4.0, and emergency treatment (1.87/4.0) followed basic nursing (3.51/4.0) and counseling (2.32/4.0). The nursing job was significantly different depending on the age, education level, position, resident doctor(emergency medicine specialty or other) and grade of ER (regional ER or local ER). In the multiple regression, education level (${\beta}=.18$), position (${\beta}=.24$), hospital size (${\beta}=.20$), and grade of ER (${\beta}=.21$) explained 17.0% of variance in ER nurses' job in small and medium sized hospitals. Conclusion: The findings indicate that ER nurses in vulnerable areas do more nursing practice including emergency treatment as well as the usual independent nursing practice. Accordingly, a systematic assignment of nursing professionals is needed to reduce loading of ER nurses in small and medium sized hospitals.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the level of professional self-concept, self-efficacy and job satisfaction among nurses who work at hemodialysis units. Methods: With convenience sampling, 128 nurses working at hemodialysis settings in Chungcheong Province were participated in this study. Data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 14.0 with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: The mean scores were 2.68 for professional self-concept, 3.65 for self efficacy and 3.14 for job satisfaction. There were significant differences in professional self-concept according to age, religion, position and clinical experience. There was statistically significant difference in self-efficacy according to age. Also, there was statistically significant difference in job satisfaction according to age, marital status, hospital type, position, clinical experience, and the number of patients per nurse. Job satisfaction was positively correlated with professional self-concept and self-efficacy. Conclusion: These findings provided that interventions to enhance professional self-concept as well as the strategies to improve self-efficacy are very important.
