ISO/KS A 9000's 품질인증제도와 인증 및 추진기업의 고려사항 (Considered Points for ISO/KS A 9000's Quality Certification System)

  • The ISO 90000 Quality System Certification is one of trends over the world. Many companies and organizations want to achieve the ISO 9000 certificate. But, some of companies did not fully consider the needs of certification before the decision of establishing the quality system to ISO 90000. If a company/organization wants to establish its unique quality system, it should consider some of points in the identification of needs, definition of application scope, effective ways of system establishing, top management committement, composition of task force team, practical involvement and development, analysis of process and assigned job functions, adoption of changes of business circumstances, and practical implementation of its unique quality system.

  • This paper explores the possibility of improving R&D management system through researchers' satisfaction analysis. The relationship between job satisfaction and performance has traditionally been one of the engaging topics in organization psychology. However, the research results of the past showed the relatively low level of correlation between satisfaction and performance at the individual level. In contrast to these past research results, recent research results on this relationship at the organizational level revealed the higher correlation between these two factors, The present study extends this 'satisfaction and performance' hypothesis to the development and improvement of R&D management system. That is, we used the results of researchers' satisfaction analysis to devise appropriate criteria for the design and implementation of more effective R&D management systems. This paper seeks to show that we can make fruitful use of researchers' satisfaction analysis in order to choose a more effective one among alternative R&D management systems.

자바 네이티브 메소드 생성 시스템 (Java Native Method Generating System)

  • 자바 네이티브 메소드는 시간 소모적인 작업의 효율적 실행, 플랫폼 종속적인 작업의 수행, 라이브러리의 재사용 등을 위해 제안되었다. 실행 속도 향상을 위해 네이티브 메소드를 사용한다면, 네이티브 메소드 구현에 자바 언어가 아닌 컴파일 방식의 다른 언어를 사용해야한다. 또한 자바 네이티브 인터페이스의 개념을 습득해야한다. 이러한 부담을 경감시키기 위해 렬 논문에서는 자바 메소드를 네이티브 메소드로 자동 변환하여 주는 자바 네이티브 메소드 생성 시스템을 제안하였다. 또한 본 시스템은 JNI의 개념을 요구하지 않기 때문에 C 언어로 네이티브 메소드를 작성하려는 프로그래머에게 편의를 제공한다.

  • Computer Integrated Manufacturing(CIM) is a growing technology as a solution for the total automation of a manufacturing system. However, the implementation in the shop floor is extremely difficult due to many reasons. Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS) is usually considered as a solution for the shop floor automation. One of the difficulties in FMS is the communications problem. Since various machinaries with different communications protocols are included, applying a unified scheme is almost impossible. Therefore, a systematic approach is a key point to solve the communication problem. A cell is defined as an automation unit where closely related for a job reside together. A cell is a messenger between upper level computers and lower level machine equipment. In this research, the functions of the cell are defined to have more capabilities than conventional cell since a cell can be often a total manufacturing system in a small to medium sized factory. The cell conducts communications with different machines through the communications schemes established here. A set of software system has been developed according to the defined communications. The software has been tested for a simulation and real experiments for proof.

Applying Workload Shaping Toward Green Cloud Computing

  • Energy costs for operating and cooling computing resources in Cloud infrastructure have increased significantly up to the point where they would surpass the hardware purchasing costs. Thus, reducing the energy consumption can save a significant amount of management cost. One of major approach is removing hardware over-provisioning. In this paper, we propose a technique that facilitates power saving through reducing resource over provisioning based on virtualization technology. To this end, we use dynamic workload shaping to reschedule and redistribute job requests considering overall power consumption. In this paper, we present our approach to shape workloads dynamically and distribute them on virtual machines and physical machines through virtualization technology. We generated synthetic workload data and evaluated it in simulating and real implementation. Our simulated results demonstrate our approach outperforms to when not using no workload shaping methodology.

  • A metacomputing system is constructed by integrating the heterogeneous supercomputers at KORDIC supercomputer center. The implementation is directed toward building up an easy-to-use supercomputing environment for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations. The key feature is an automatic resource selection According to the predicted performance, the system assigns the request job to the most suitable resource which satisfies the user's demands. Verification tests are conducted by using example CFD applications. An overview of the system is given and derivation of performance prediction models is described in details. Discussion is made of the test results to illustrate applicability and usefulness of the proposed models.

  • 초고속 네트웍을 기반으로 지리적으로 분산된 리소스들을 공유하며 강력한 컴퓨팅 파워를 낼 수 있는 그리드 환경에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 그리드 환경을 구축하기 위한 기술중에 어카운팅 정보의 수집에 관해서 기술한다. 특히 클러스터 형태의 시스템에서 OGSA RSU-WG의 GSAX와 Usage Records Working Group(UR-WG)를 기반으로 하여 시스템을 설계하였다. 설계를 바탕으로 각 노드에서 발생하는 어카운팅 정보와 job 수행 정보를 수집하고, 통합하는 모니터링 툴의 구현에 대해 상세히 설명한다.

Design and Implementation of a Microwave Motion Detector with Low Power Consumption

  • In this paper, we propose a design of microwave motion detector using X-band doppler radar sensor to minimize the power consumption. To minimize the power consumption and implement battery operated system, pulse input with 2 KHz, 4% duty cycle is exerted on the doppler radar sensor. In order to simplify the process of working with ATmega2560 microcontroller unit, Arduino compatible board is designed and implemented. Arduino is open source hardware and many library software is published as open source tools. Smartphone app is also proposed and designed as a real-time user interface of the motion detector. The SQLite database on the Android mobile operating system is used for recording raw data of motion detection for post-processing job, such as fast Fourier transform (FFT). Bluetooth interface module is implemented on the motion detection board as a wireless communication interface to the smartphone. The speed of human movement is identified by post-processing FFT.

  • In this paper, we implement a 2.4 kbps STC speech codec using the TMS320C6201 DSP The main job for this work is twofold: one is to convert floating-point operation in the codec into fixed-point operation while maintaining the high resolution, and the other is to optimize the program to make it run in real time with memory size as small as possible. The implemented decoder uses 54.8 kbyte of program memory, 29.7 kbyte of data ROM and 55.2 kbyte of data RAM, respectively. It also uses about 45% of maximum computation capacity of TMS320C6201.

  • 인터넷과 네트워크 속도의 발전으로 인하여 그리드 컴퓨팅(grid computing)의 필요성 및 가능성이 점차 증대되고 있다. 사용자는 다양한 종류의 수많은 그리드 자원을 그리드 미들웨어를 이용하여 일관된 방법으로 이용할 수 있으며. 자신의 작업을 원격에서 실행 및 제어할 수 있다. 그리드 미들웨어 중에서도 그리드 자원에서 작업을 실행시킬 수 있도록 그리드 자원을 통제하는 그리드 작업 실행 시스템은 미들웨어의 가장 핵심적인 부분이라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서 개발된 그리드 작업 실행 시스템에서 사용자의 작업은 작업 기술 언어로 표현되어, 자원 관리 노드에서 작업의 상태 변화에 따라 절절한 단계를 거쳐 실행된다. 또 자원의 동시 할당을 위한 자원 예약 기능을 제공하며. 서비스 형태로 외부에 공개되므로 클라이언트는 플랫폼에 관계없이 제공된 서비스를 이용할 수 있는 특징을 지닌다.
