최근 내장형 장치를 인터넷과 연결하고자 하는 요구가 늘어나고 있다. 이러한 정보기기들 간의 동적인 분산 네트워크를 구성하는 기술로서 Jini 기술이 주목을 받고 있다. 그러나, 소형 장치에 Jini 기술을 적용하여 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 높은 하드웨어 사양을 요구하는 문제점이 지적되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 non-Java 장치를 Jini 네트워크에 접속하여 Jini 서비스를 제공하기 위한 Jini 서로게이트 시스템(Surrogate System)과 non-Jana 장치간의 서로게이트 프로토콜(Surrogate Protocol)을 설계하고 자바 언어로 구현하였다. 서로게이트 시스템은 장치가 Jini 네트워크에 연결되어 Jini 서비스를 제공하기 위해 필요한 Discovery와 Join 과정을 대리해주는 역할을 수행한다. Jini 클라이언트는 서로게이트 시스템을 통해 장치가 제공하는 서비스를 이용할 수 있다 구현한 서로게이트 시스템이 정상적으로 동작하는지 검증하기 위해 Jini 예제 프로그램을 만들어 시험하였다. 시험결과, 구현한 서로게이트 시스템을 이용해 Jini 클라이언트가 non-Jana 장치의 서비스를 이용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

The home network system guarantees families a safe, economical, socially integrated and healthy life by using information appliances. And it provides a family with domestic safety, control of instruments, controllable energy and health monitoring by connecting to home appliances. This study designs the broadband PLC home controller using broadband PLC(Power Line Communication) technology which can save much cost at a network infrastructure by using the existing power line at home. The broadband PLC home controller consists of the broadband PLC module, the embedded main controller module and I/O module. The broadband PLC home controller can control various domestic appliances such as an auto door-lock, a boiler, an oven, etc., because it has various I/O specifications. In this study, selected home network middleware for the broadband PLC home controller is Jini surrogate using Jini technology designed by means of access to easily a home network system without a limitation of the devices. And a client application program is supported java servlet program to manage and monitor the broadband PLC home controller via web browser of a PC or a PDA, etc. Finally, for an application, we implemented and tested a home security system using one broadband PLC home controller.

내장형 디바이스를 인터넷과 연결하고자 하는 요구가 늘어나고 있다. 이러한 정보기기들을 동적으로 상호 작용하게 하는 기술로서 지니(Jini)가 최근 주목을 받고 있다. 그러나 내장형 디바이스에서 지니 서비스를 제공하기 위해 요구되는 높은 하드웨어 사양이 문제점으로 지적되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 non-Java 디바이스를 지니 네트워크에 접속하여 지니 서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 서로게이트 시스템(Surrogate System)과 non-Java 디바이스간의 프로토콜을 설계하였다.

주변에 존재하는 임의의 다양한 소형기기 기반 서비스(예, 각 지역의 유틸리티 장비 서비스)들을 동적으로 발견하고, 이들간 상호 서비스 호출이 동적인 분산컴퓨팅 환경을 퍼베이시브 컴퓨팅 환경이라 한다. 지니는 이러한 퍼베이시브 컴퓨팅 환경의 효과적 구축을 위한 미들웨어이다. 그러나 지니 미들웨어의 높은 H/W 및 S/W 요구사항 때문에 많은 소형기기에서는 지원이 되지 않아, 퍼베이시브 컴퓨팅 환경에서 광범위한 활용이 되지 않고 있다. 본 논문에서는 제한된 H/W 용량과 S/W 기능을 갖고 있는 소형기기 상에서 범용적 지니 지원방법 (지니 Surrogate 아키텍쳐)를 논의하고, 대표적 인터넷 소형기기인 핸드폰 상에서 지니 서비스 구현 방법을 제안한다.

The Home network system means that information appliances, Home PCs, etc., using wired or wireless network method enable to control and share with peripheral devices such as internet, shared data, a scanner and a printer, and it is networking solution, which intelligent communication will be possible as the system which can do a remote control such as TV Set, refrigerators, air conditioners, DVD players, digital camcorders based on external network using an internet, a potable information terminal and a mobile phone whenever, wherever and freely. In this study, the home network interface solution is used one of the wired network standards, PLC (Power-Line Communication) technology, so we can construct of intelligent home network's home controller without re-build a network at home. On keeping with current waves of thought, we will focus on a home controller development with great interest which is enabled to do an effective managed control, applying intelligent home network technology which can be new paradigm like a cyber apartment.
