In his recent paper "Early Wittgenstein, Logic, and Metaphysics" Professor Jinho Kang argues that there has been an important change in Wittgenstein's view on the nature of logic between October 1913 and December 1916, which resulted in his change of attitude toward metaphysics. In my paper, raising some questions regarding his basic assumptions and arguments, I attempt to show that Professor Kang's paper fails to provide convincing solution to the points at issue.

In Kang(2017), Jinho Kang persuasively criticized the attempt of Peter Hanks using his concept of cancelled predication to solve the Frege-Geach problem. According to Kang, Hanks had successfully shown the incoherence of Scott Soames's concept of neutral predication, but if it is true, then Hanks's concept of cancelled predication also falls into the same incoherence. I agree with Kang that Hanks faces the same incoherence, and I think that Hank's answers are unconvincing. As I see, however, it is possible for Hanks to overcome Kang's criticism. In this paper, I will reply to Kang's criticism by using conceptual resources in Hanks's own theory. In particular, the idea is that the final predication is compositionally explained by the type it belongs to without having truth-values because cancelled predication itself gives rise to target-shifting toward the type. By doing so, Hanks can successfully solve the Frege-Geach problem even though he let some remarks about cancelled predication unclear and confusing. In addition, it will be revealed that his notation is misleading as well.

The emerging Versatile Video Coding (VVC) standard introduces Bi-prediction with CU-level Weights (BCW) to enhance the bi-predictive prediction. The syntax element of BCW index is adaptively coded according to the value of NoBackwardPredFlag which indicates if there is no future picture in the display order among the reference pictures, and it can violate the flexibility of codec and cause the dependency issue. This paper proposes BCW clean-up design that allows all weights can be parsed without any condition. The experimental results show negligible BD-rate losses while resolving the issues.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of utilization of creative techniques in elementary science class on science learning motivation and science academic achievement. To verify this study, the subjects of this study were sixth-grade students selected from four classes of an elementary school located in U Metropolitan city. First, the experimental group showed a significant improvement in their science learning motivation compared to the comparative group. Second, the experimental group showed a significant improvement in their science academic achievement compared to the comparative group.

This paper deals with the characteristics of persistent current switch (rCS) system fer applied HTS magnet system. To apply the high-Tc superconductor in superconducting machine such as motror, generator, MAGLEV, MRI, and NMR, the study on high-Tc superconducting persistent current mode must be performed. In this experiment, the PCS system consists otd superconducting magnet, PCS and magnet power supply. The superconducting magnet was fabricated by connecting four double pancake coils (DPCs) in series. The PCS was inductive double pancake coil type and heated up by the SUS 303L tape heater. The optimal length of PCS was calculated and thermal quench state of PCS was simulated by using finite element method(FEM) and compared with experimental results. The optimal energy to normalize the PCS was calculated and introduced. Finally, the persistent current was observed with respect to various ramping up rate and magnitude of charging current.

HEVC(High Efficiency Video Coding) 보다 뛰어난 압축 성능을 갖는 차세대 비디오 부호화 표준 기술 탐색을 하고 있는 JVET(Joint Video Exploratory Team)에서는 기술 검증을 위한 참조 SW 코덱인 JEM(Joint Exploration Model)을 공개하고 있다. JEM 의 화면내 예측 부호화에서는 67 가지의 예측모드를 사용하고 6 개의 MPM(Most Probable Mode)을 이용하여 예측모드를 부호화 한다. 본 논문에서는 코딩블록에서의 화면내 예측모드의 선택 확률을 바탕으로 보다 효율적인 예측모드 부호화 기법을 제안한다. 실험결과 JEM 5.0 대비 MPM 을 포함한 예측모드 부호화 정보의 CABAC(Context Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding) 엔트로피 부호화를 제외하고, AI(All Intra) 부호화 구조에서 0.23% 정도의 BD-rate 감소를 보임을 확일 할 수 있었다.

A 7-year-old, spayed female Chihuahua with dyspnea, intermittent cyanosis, and dermal plaques was diagnosed with hyperadrenocorticism. Thoracic radiographs showed markedly hyperdense alveoli in multiple lung lobes. Computed tomography (CT) images showed lung mineralization confined to the lung parenchyma and pituitary macroadenoma. Pulmonary mineralization secondary to hyperadrenocorticism is commonly found on histopathologic examination. However, those lesions are rarely identified radiographically. We describe obvious pulmonary mineralization secondary to hyperadrenocorticism found on radiographs and present the first report regarding CT imaging of the mineralization. Pulmonary mineralization should be considered when a dog affected by hyperadrenocorticism shows diffuse lung mineralization on radiographs.
