In Korean Traditional Medicine(K.T.M.)'s theory, there are some important constitutions which constitute the human being. They are Jeong(精), Gi(氣), Sin(神), and Hyeol(血). Jeong(精) is the essential substances which constituting human body and maintaining life's activities. Gi(氣) is the vital energyor functional activities of human body. Sin(神) is a kind of Gi(氣) which is related to mentality, consciousness and thinking. Hyeol(血) is the red fluid circulating through the blood vessels and nourishing the body tissues. When a man is born, he takes Jeong(精) from his father, and Hyeol(血) from his mother. So father' s Jeong(精) and mother' s Hyeol(血) became the source of their children's Jeong(精), Gi(氣), Sin(神), Hyeol(血). But after be borning, man need to make Jeong(精), Gi(氣), Sin(神), Hyeol(血) by himself from Foods and drinks[水穀]. This thesis was written to explain a process or a system how the Foods and drinks[水穀] change to human's Jeong(精), Gi( 氣), Sin(神), Hyeol(血). When the food and drink[水穀] put in human's mouth, Five Bu[五腑] primarily digest and change to food and drink[水穀]'s Essence and nutrients which is similar to chyme or chyle[乳廳]. Secondarily, Five Jang[五臟] make Gi(氣), Jinaek(津液) - the body fluid, Jeong(精), Wigi(衛氣) - the defensive Gi, and Yeonggi(營氣) - the nutrient Gi circulating the Meridians, and Hyeol(血) from that food and drink [水穀]'s Essence and nutrients. And the information of every processing is reflected in urine. 50 the digestion is accomplished at not only Five Bu[五腑] but also five Jang[五臟]. The concept of digestion in this thesis is including both catabolim[異化作用] and anabolism [同化作用]. Samcho(三焦) is the recognition to the process of this digestion - ctabolism and anabolism in three part.

Objectives : The quotation of Seongyeong found in the chapter of danjeonyusam in Donguibogam uses a type of allocation of Gi(氣), Sin(神), and Jeong(精) each in Upper, Middle and Lower, three Danjeon, that is different from the type was widely accepted at the time. The paper attempts to interpret this in a new way. Methods : The paper collected the understanding of Jeong-Gi-Sin found in the Korean medicine based on Naedan Theory of Taoism, and tried to approach and structurally analyze the contents of Seongyeong, Ojinpyeonju, and Hwanggeuggyeongseseo found in Donguibogam's danjeonyusam. Results : The control of the body by Gi stored in Upper Danjeon is related to brain function, control of Gi at Lower Danjeon which preserves Jeong in Kidney is related to proliferation of Original Qi from kidney region throughout the body by triple energizers. Sin located at Middle Danjeon is contrasted with Jeong in Lower Danjeon, and Sin controls activity of life in the part between body and Gi. Conclusions : A new understanding on the assignment of Jeong-Gi-Sin in Seongyeong is possible, and it is expected to contribute to the future study of Korean Medicine and Taoism.

Jeong YagYong, who are the SilHak Scholar during 18^th to 19^th century, wrote the Sadaegore with his pupil Lee Cheong. This work is the guide of diplomacy, which are asked to write from King Jeongjo. Although this book was completed after King Jeongjo's death, it harbors the King's thoughts about diplomacy or the relationship with China. Haebanggo, one chapter of the book, is about marine policy and how to treat the castaways. In this chapter, Jeong YagYong provides various ways to deal with these problems in marine area and sea refugee I will examine the Jeong YagYong's thought about the problems and ways to address these problems. Futhermore, I will inquire Jeong's opinion on the boundary in marine area. He recognized that many border transgressions happened in marine area at that time and considered that as urgent political affairs. Haebanggo consists of two parts. First part of the book is about protect own island from other countries. The rest part is about cases of dealing with castaways and their transgression. I argue that Jeong YagYong intended to make distinct borderlines in marine area and empathized the necessity of protecting Joseon's islands from other countries.
