한국치위생학회지 게재논문 분석을 통한 치위생학 연구 동향 탐구(2016년~2018년) (Trend analysis of articles published in the Journal of Korean Society of Dental Hygiene, from 2016 to 2018)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study was to analyze papers published in the Journal of Korean Society of Dental Hygiene (JKSDH) and to identify the current state of dental hygiene research and recommend directions for future research. Methods: A total of 315 articles published between 2016 to 2018 were reviewed using analysis criteria. Results: The number of grant research and experimental studies during 2016-2018 was higher than that before 2015. Quantitative studies were dominant and oral health was the most common research topics. The number of published papers, the proportion of reported reliability of instrument studies, reported ethical consideration and studies that described criteria for sample size had increased. The most common sampling of quantitative studies were convenient sampling and questionnaire and big data of data collection methods were the most. Conclusions: Findings of this study indicate that the recent trends in dental hygiene research and the direction of dental hygiene research and will improve the quality of papers and promote the reputation of JKSDH as an international journal.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare the author key words and MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) terms in the Journal of Korean Society of Dental Hygiene (JKSDH). Methods: A total of 3,242 author key words from 974 informative articles published from 2001 to 2015 were compared with MeSH terms, according to the criteria of complete coincidence, incomplete coincidence, and complete non-coincidence. Results: The coincidence rate of 564 author key words with MeSH terms was 17.4%. The author key words that appeared most frequently (in descending order) were oral health (41 times), dental hygienists (30 times), dental caries (29 times), and knowledge (29 times). There was a non-coincidence rate of 70.5% for 2,286 author key words with MeSH terms. Conclusions: Many author key words used in the JKSDH did not coincide with MeSH terms. The use of author key words that coincide with MeSH terms is necessary to accomplish the international journal.

  • Objectives: The purpose of study is to investigate trends in dental hygiene research published in the Journal of Korean Society Dental Hygiene. Methods:Total of 992 researches were published between 2001 to 2015 were reviewed using analysis criteria. Results: 23.7% of the researches were supported financially. The most frequent research topics were oral health (40.9%). 3 to 5 researchers per research (38.5%) was most common and 84.1% of principal researchers were professors. 29 researchers were approved by IRB (2011 to 2015). As for the type of research, 87.1% of quantitative studies adapted survey and 9.5% adapted experiment. Convenient sampling was used in 85.6% of the researches. 32.7% of studies searched information in school. Interventions of dental material were the most in pre experimental design (19.2%) and Interventions of activation of oral health program were the most in quasi experimental design (37.5%). Conclusions: The findings of this study suggested the recent trends and the direction in dental hygiene research.

구취제거효과에 따른 구강관리용품의 만족도 (Satisfaction of oral hygiene devices by the removal of halitosis)

  • Objectives : The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between the removal of halitosis and use of oral hygiene devices. Methods : A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 300 patients visiting to dental clinics in Gyeonggi-do from May to June, 2013. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics, oral health related characteristics, satisfaction of oral hygiene devices were measured. Results : Halitosis accounted for 11.0% in dental clinic visit. In order to remove halitosis, dental floss is the most satisfactory and effective method of all auxiliary oral hygiene devices. Conclusions : A variety of auxiliary oral hygiene devices are being sold and used to remove halitosis. It is important to choose the most effective oral hygiene devices to remove halitosis.
