SG365강의 파괴저항곡선과 측면홈효과에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fracture Resistance Curve and Effect of Side Grooves of SG365 Material)

  • SG-365 steel is an important material End used for manufacturing a pressure vessel and gas piping. In this investigation, the elastic plastic fracture toughness of this material is evaluated by the unloading compliance method according to the ASTM E8l3-97 and E1152-97 method on the smooth and side groove In specimens. The effect of smooth and side groove is studied on the elastic plastic fracture toughness. The side grooved specimen is very useful in estimation of the $J_{IC}$. Because it is much easier than the smooth specimen to the onset of the ductile tearing by the R curve method. Besides. it improves the accuracy of toughness values, decreases the scattering of them and crack tunneling effect and shear lip by the side groove.

  • 최근 우리나라에도 많은 지진사례가 보고되고 있으며, 이러한 지진하중은 원전설비 및 각종 기계설비등의 가동중 파손을 유발시킬 수 있는 잠재적 위험성이 높다. 이에 지진하중에 대한 안전성 확보의 필요성이 점차 대두되고 있다. 지진하중은 종ㆍ횡파에 의한 인장ㆍ압축이 반복되는 역사이클하중(reverse cyclic loading)형태로, 현재까지는 이를 고려한 설계개념이 미흡한 실정이며 이에 대한 파괴물성치의 확보는 물론 파괴물성치 평가 절차도 확립되어 있지 않은 상태이다. 따라서 지진하중에 대한 안전성확보를 위해서는, 역사이클 하중이 재료의 파괴특성 특히, 파괴저항(J-R)곡선에 미치는 영향이 고찰되어야 할 것이다.   • This study analyzes the resistance spot weldability of DP60 steels. To analyze the resistance spot weldability of DP60 steels, tensile strength test and macro-section test were conducted for the resistance spot welds. Acceptable welding conditions were determined as a function of the resistance spot welding process parameters such as electrode force, welding time, and welding current. The lower limit of the welding lobe was the minimum shear tension strength for 590MPa-grade steel while the upper limit was determined whether or not expulsion was detected.

  • Elastic-plastic fracture toughness $J_{1c}$ can be used as an effective design criterion in elastic plastic fracture mechanics. Most of these systems are operated at high temperature and $J_{1c}$ values are affected by temperature. therefore, the $J_{1c}$ valuse at high temperature must be determined for use of integrity evaluation and designing of such systems. Elastic-plastic fracture toughness $J_{1c}$ tests were performed on SA516 carbon steel plate and test results were analyzed according to ASTM E 813-8, ASTM 1813-89. Safety and integrity are required for reactor pressure vessels vecause pthey are operated in high temperature. there are single specimen method, which used as evaluation of safety and integrity for reactor pressure vessels. In this study, elastic-plastic fracture toughness$(J_{1c})$ and $J-\Delta{a}$ of SA 516/70 steel used as reactor pressure vessel steel are measured and evaluated at room Temperature, $150^{\circ}C$, $250^{\circ}C$ and $370^{\circ}C$ according to unloading compliance method.

MnGeP2 박막의 자기수송 특성 (Magnetotransport Properties of MnGeP2 Films)

  • GaAs 기판 위에 증착된 $MnGeP_2$ 박막이 상온에서 강자성을 보임을 자기화 및 자기저항 측정을 통해 확인하였다. 강자성-상자성 전이 온도는 320 K 정도였고, 항자력장은 5, 250, 300 K에서 각각 3870, 1380, 155 Oe 정도였다. 전하 운반자가 스핀 편극되어 있음을 암시하는 비정상 홀 효과를 관측하였다. 자기장에 따른 자기저항과 홀 저항을 측정할 때 이력곡선이 나타남을 확인하였다. $MnGeP_2$ 박막과 n-형 GaAs 기판 사이에 I-V 측정을 통해 전형적인 p-n 다이오드 특성을 보임을 확인하였다.

  • Leak Before Break(LBB) design concept is applied to piping systems of newly-built Yonggwang 3, 4 nuclear generating stations as a design alternative to the provision of pipe whip restraints, in recognition of the questionable benefits of providing such restraints. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the material properties (tensile and fracture toughness) of SA312 TP316 stainless steel and their associated welds manufactured for shutdown cooling system of Yonggwang 3, 4 nuclear generating stations. Effect of various parameters such as specimen orientation, test temperature, welding on material properties were examined.

  • Fracture resistance curves for concerned materials are required in order to perform elastic-plastic fracture mechanical analyses. Fracture resistance curve is built with J-integral values and crack extension values. The objective of this paper is to apply the load ratio method to the measurement of the crack length for the real scale pipe specimen. For these, the fracture test using the real scale pipe specimen and finite element analyses were performed. A 4-point bending jig was manufactured for the pipe test and the direct current potential drop method and the load ratio method was used to measure the crack extension and the length for the real scale pipe test. Finite element analyses about the compliance of the pipe specimen were executed for applying the load ratio method according to the crack length.

API 5LB강관의 고주파전기저항용접부에 관한 파괴인성 평가 (Evaluation of Fracture Toughness on High Frequency Electric Resistance Welded API 5LB Steel Pipe)

  • The evaluation of the elastic-plastic fracture toughness $J_{1C}$ was performed on the center of weld metal(CWM), the heat affected zone (HAZ) and the base metal (BM) of API 5LB steel pipes welded by the high frequency electric resistance welding. The $J_{1C}$ was evaluated by the JSME R-Curve and JSME SZW methods using the smooth and side-grooved specimens. The results are as follows; (1) The $J_{1C}$ values by the SZW method are overestimated as compared with those by the R-curve method, because the micro-crack is formed as SZW increase with the deformation at SZ after initiation of the ductile crack. (2) The everage of $J_{1C}$ values by the the R-curve and the SZW methods in side-grooved specimens tended to decrease in comparison with smooth specimens 9.42% at CWM, 4.2% at HAZ, 23.2% at BM, respectively. (3) The boundary of the fatigue pre-crack, stretched zone, and dimple regions appeared more clearly in side-grooved specimens, for the slight change of SZW in the direction of the plate thickness, as compared with smooth specimens.

  • One important element of the Leak-Before-Break analysis of nuclear piping is how to determine relevant fracture toughness (or the J-resistance curve) for nonlinear fracture mechanics analysis. The practice to use fracture toughness from a standard C(T) specimen is known to often give conservative estimates of toughness. To improve the accuracy, this paper proposes a new method to determine fracture toughness using a nonstandard testing specimen, curved wide-plate in tension. To show validity of the proposed curved wide-plate test, the J-resistance curve from the full-scale pipe test is compared with that from the curved wide-plate test and that from the C(T) specimen. It is shown that the J-resistance curve form the curved wide-plate tension test is similar to, but that from the C(T) specimen is lower than, the J-resistance curve from the full-scale pipe test. Further validation is performed by investigating crack-tip constraint conditions via detailed 3-D FE analyses, which shows that the crack-tip constraint condition in the curved wide-plate tension specimen is indeed similar to that in the full-scale pipe under bending.
