In this study were evaluated the whitening and anti-oxidative activities from the extracts of Sorbus alnifolia branches, and identified the chemical structures of the active ingredients. In the whitening tests using α-MSH stimulated B16F10 melanoma cells, the 70% ethanol extract and n-butanol (n-BuOH) fractions concentration-dependently inhibited cellular melanogenesis and intracellular tyrosinase activities without causing cell toxicity. The total polyphenol content of n-BuOH and ethyl acetate (EtOAc) fractions were measured to be respectively 241.1 ± 1.1 and 222.9 ± 2.4 (mg/g GAE), and the total flavonoid content of EtOAc fraction was 75.3 ± 2.0 (mg/g QE). Upon anti-oxidant studies with DPPH and ABTS+ radicals, potent radical scavenging activities were observed in the EtOAc and n-BuOH fractions. Moreover, in the study of cell protection efficacy using HaCaT keratinocytes damaged by H2O2, the EtOAc and n-BuOH fractions showed a very positive results on prevention of oxidative stress. Phytochemical studies for this extract resulted in the isolation of four compounds; 2-oxopomolic acid (1), euscaphic acid (2), epi-catechin (3), prunasin (4). These results suggested that the extract of S. alnifolia branches containing compounds 1-4 as natural ingredients could be used as whitening and anti-oxidant ingredients in cosmetic formulations.
This study was conducted to determine the effect of treatment with the plant-growth-promoting bacteria on the growth of red pepper(Capsicum annuum L.).The eight plant-growth-promoting bacteria were isolated from the humic soil in the forest region. The isolated bacteria(IB) was identified by the method of the biochemical test(API kit) and the composition of the fatty acid(MIDI system). The IBs were inoculated by spray of 17ml at 72 cell tray filled with peatmoss every week. respectively, with mixed liquid eulture of eight strains. The IBs were identified as Micrococcus sp.. Bacillus subtilis. Enterobacter agglomerans, Bacillus megaterium, Pseudomonas putida. Pseudomonas fluorescens, Xanthomonas maltophilia and Staphylococcus xylosus by API kit and MIDI system. The plant height number of leaves and leaf length of red pepper grown on peatmoss treated with the IB were better than those of nontreatment at the 10th day after inoculation.
This article is aimed to investigate the role of social pressure in the influential relationship of user motivation on user commitment in social media. On this purpose, user motivation in social media was divided into 3 sub-dimensions as social motivation, functional motivation and hedonic motivation and social pressure was also categorized into informational isolation pressure and conformity pressure and then it was explored that how the social pressure makes differential effects in the relationship of each dimensions of user motivation and user commitment. Major findings are as follows. First, user's social motivation and hedonic motivation in social media had significant positive influence on user commitment. Second, the informational isolation pressure showed moderating effect in the relation of functional motivation and commitment. Third, conformity pressure displayed moderating effect in the relation of social motivation and commitment. This article suggests empirical supports about the role of social pressure in the phenomena of social media use and commitment, but requires to explore more specific factors and multi-dimensional studies in regard of social pressure in social media.

Deep sub-micron bulk CMOS circuits require gate electrode materials such as metal silicide and titanium silicide for gate oxides. Many authors have conducted research to improve the quality of the sub-micron gate oxide. However, few have reported on the electrical quality and reliability of an ultra-thin gate. In this paper, we will recommend a novel shallow trench isolation structure and a two-step TiS $i_2$ formation process to improve the corner metal oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) for sub-0.1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ VLSI devices. Differently from using normal LOCOS technology, deep sub-micron CMOS devices using the novel shallow trench isolation (STI) technology have unique "inverse narrow-channel effects" when the channel width of the device is scaled down. The titanium silicide process has problems because fluorine contamination caused by the gate sidewall etching inhibits the silicide reaction and accelerates agglomeration. To resolve these Problems, we developed a novel two-step deposited silicide process. The key point of this process is the deposition and subsequent removal of titanium before the titanium silicide process. It was found by using focused ion beam transmission electron microscopy that the STI structure improved the narrow channel effect and reduced the junction leakage current and threshold voltage at the edge of the channel. In terms of transistor characteristics, we also obtained a low gate voltage variation and a low trap density, saturation current, some more to be large transconductance at the channel for sub-0.1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ VLSI devices.
An antibiotic compound was isolated from the culture of an antagonist against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. sesami, Bacillus polymyxa strain KB-8, and tested for the control of Fusarium wilt of sesame in greenhouse conditions. Optimum conditions for culturing the antagonist to obtain the maximum antibiotic activity were determined using different culture media, initial medium acidity, and incubation periods for which yeast -malt extract agar with the initial acidity of pH 5 and over 13 days culture were best. Antibiotic substances extracted by methanol had 2 main fractions, KB-8A and KB-8B, in thin layer chromatography (OLC) with Rf values of 0.35 and 0.67 in a solvent system of chloroform : methanol = 7 : 3. The fraction KB-8A wa purified further by XAD-2, silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography, and crystalization. Its minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) were $12.8\mu\textrm{g}$/ml for F. oxysporum and Alternaria mali, $6.4\mu\textrm{g}$/ml for Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and Rhizoctonia solani, and $3.2\mu\textrm{g}$/ml for Phytophthora capsici. Soil drenching of antibiotic KB-8A in the concentrations of $13.0\mu\textrm{g}$/ml and $26.0\mu\textrm{g}$/ml effectively inhibited the Fusarium wilt of sesame in a greenhouse test, which appeared to be comparable to the fungicide benlate of $6.5\mu\textrm{g}$ a. i./ml.

To understand effect of inoculum size, cell density, sucrose concentration and concentrations of MS basal on suspension culture and protoplast isolation of wild viola(Viola patrinii DC.) callus from petiole segments this experiment was conducted. In the lot of 30 mesh inoculum size, two observations were; One was that a considerable increase in the fresh and dry weight of callus was determined. Another was that the callus mass was relatively compact compared with others. A recommendable cell density was 0.4g for 20ml culture medium and the higher sucrose concentration, the higher fresh and dry weight were obtained. The dilution of MS basal salt was differently affected on fresh and dry weight; the highest fresh weight was found in 1x MS salt, while the higest dry weight was in 1/3x dilution. The addition of casein hydrolysate(3g/L) was more effective to increase of both fresh and dry weight. THe contents of protein was great in the inoculum lots with larger inoculum sizeand higher concentration of MS basal salts contenting 3g/L of casein hydrolysate and higher sucrose compared with others. The greatest protoplasts were isolated from the lot of 10 mesh size treated with 1%pectinase SE-150 and 2% cellulase YC. In general, for optimal protoplast isolation the followingconditions were recommended; 1) Use of smaller cell size cultured for 2-5 weeks, and 2) more than 5 hours incubation using the combined mixture of the enzymes with proper concentrations.

We consider some problems of the Modified SPRT(Sequential Probability Ratio Test) method for fault detection and isolation of inertial redundant sensor systems and propose an Advanced SPRT method which solves the problems of the Modified SPRT method. The problems of the Modified SPRT method to apply to inertial sensor system come from the effect of inertial sensor errors and the correlation of parity vector components. We use a two-stage Kalman filter to remove effects of the inertial sensor errors and propose the modified parity vector and the controlled parity vector which reduces the effect of correlation of parity vector components. The Advanced SPRT method is derived form the modified parity vector and the controlled party vector. Some simulation results are presented to show the usefulness of the Advanced SPRT method to redundant inertial sensor systems.
Properties of the antioxidative fraction isolated from browning reaction product (BRP) that were obtained from 2 M L-ascorbic acid (AsA) solution (adjusted to pH 7.0) by heating for 25 hrs at $85^{\circ}C$ were investigated. Both of dialyzable and nondialyzable fraction isolated from BRP showed antioxidative effect. Dialyzable fraction has stronger antioxidative activity than nondialyzable. Dialyzable fraction was divided into the three fractions (A, B, C) by gel filtration. Among these fractions, the fraction (A) that had the highest reducing power and lowest browning drgree had lowest antioxidative activity. The fraction (C) that had lowest reducing power and highest browning degree showed strongest antioxidative effect. In the UV-visible spectrum of these fractions, the maximum absorption wavelengths of fraction A and B were 266.1 and 257.4nm, respectively, and fraction C showed a weaker absorption peak at 274.8nm. Infrared (IR) spectrum results showed that all fractions (A, B, C) had both hydroxy and carboxylic groups, and fraction B and C had carboxylic ester group.

In this paper, design of a UWB MIMO antenna for an on-body application is proposed and antenna performance with body effect and the impact on the human body are investigated. The proposed MIMO antenna is composed of UWB antenna above ground plane and an additional plunger shaped isolator located between the two monopole antennas to enhance the isolation characteristic. The simulation and measurement are performed to analyze the effect of the human body on antenna performance when the human body is located in the near field of the antenna. According to the measurement results, the measured SAR values for antennas 1 and 2 are 0.132 W/kg and 0.08 W/kg, respectively when 0.5 mW input power is delivered. These values satisfy the FCC guideline which ragulates that the 1-g average SAR should be lower than 1.6 W/kg.
The gap provided between adjacent structures in the metropolitan cities is mostly narrow due to architectural and financial issues. Consequently, structural pounding occurs between adjacent structures during earthquakes. It causes damages, ranging from minor local to more severe ones, especially in the case of seismically isolated buildings, due to their higher displacements. However, due to the increased flexibility of isolated buildings, the problem could become more detrimental to such structures. The effect of the seismic pounding of moat walls on the response of buildings isolated by Triple Friction Pendulum Bearing (TFPB) is investigated in this paper. To this propose, two symmetric three-dimensional models, including single-story and five-story buildings, are modeled in Opensees. Nonlinear Time History Analyses (NTHA) are performed for seismic evaluation. Also, five different sizes with four different sets of friction coefficients are considered for base isolators to cover a whole range of base isolation systems with various geometry configurations and fundamental period. The results are investigated in terms of base shear, buildings' drift, and roof acceleration. Results indicated a profound effect of poundings against moat walls. In situations of potential pounding, in some cases, the influence of impact on seismic responses of multistory buildings was more remarkable.
