Development of a Lighting Control Switch Using Power Line Communication Technology (전력선 통신기술을 이용한 조명제어 스위치의 개발)

  • A lighting control switch, extended to incorporate a power line communication technology, is developed. The system uses not an exclusive microprocessor but a general one, and developed PPM protocol. The coupling circuit is a type of an isolation LC filter, and the impedance of the circuit was designed as low as possible to extend signal transmission distance. The frequency of the carrier, considering the data length and signal attenuation as the length of power lines, was set at 250 kHz. Tests on a prototype in an indoor power lines have shown that the switch has a stable operation with the distance of power lines

  • A proposed soft-switching buck-boost PWM converter has a lot of advantages, Viz., electric isolation, a high power factor, low switching losses, low EMI noise, reduction of the voltage and current stresses, etc. In a new PFC converter, the switching device is replaced by the loss-less snubber circuit to achieve the zero voltage switching (ZVS) at the maximum current. However, the charging current of the capacitor in the loss-less snubber circuit distorts the input current waveforms. To improve the input current waveform, a new duty factor control method is proposed in this paper.

  • In this paper discusses winding methode of single phase AC-DC reversible power converter The reversible power converter driven by multi Tap winding at both side switching control. It has a advantage that simple drive of main switching device. and obtain load current of good quality without filter circuit and free from noise or isolation for lower switching frequency. In this research, study on current type converter and inverter circuit that consist for possibility of AC-DC/DC-AC multi-level reversible converter.

  • Solid state electrochemical and chemo-resistive gas sensors have been used widely but can operate only under high temperature. For reducing the power consumption and optimizing the structure of the substrate of these sensors, we conducted device and circuit simulations using the COMSOL Multiphysics simulator. For assessing the effective types of substrate and heat isolation, we conducted three-dimensional thermal simulations in two separate parts; (a) by changing the shape of the contacting holes and (b) punching additional holes on the substrate. Thus, it was possible to achieve high temperature in the sensor end of the substrate while maintaining low power consumption, and temperature in the circuit.

  • Today, the sciences in medical and nursing fields are becoming progressively more dependent on electrical apparatus for the preservation of life of hospitalized patients. Therefore, it is required more safety medical power distribution system in order to protect patients and physicians more securely from unexpected leakage of current. Especially for the medically used rooms which use life sustaining equipment, power should be provided as supplying continuously without interrupting with lowest leakage current. This thesis proposed the reason why Isolation Power System is safety through the circuit analysis and applications.

  • In this study, stability designing electronics mounted on launch vehicle for shock load(low/high frequency band) could be derived. For the low-frequency shock loads, CCA(circuit card assembly) has secured the structural integrity over the best natural frequency techniques. For the high-frequency shock load, the structural integrity could be ensured with applying device such as the insulation pad. When the EAR is applied, insulation effect of part application is good more than whole application.

  • This paper presents analysis of control characteristics of high power hybrid multilevel PWM rectifier without bulky and heavy isolation transformers. It will be shown that the DC voltages for multilevel output generation may be directly built up from AC utility source. The multilevel PWM rectifier is analyzed by using the circuit DQ transformation whereby the static and dynamic characteristics and some useful design equations are obtained. Finally to confirm the validity of the analysis MATLAB simulation are carried out.

  • Ultra large scale integrated circuit(ULSI) & complementary metal oxide semiconductor(CMOS) circuits require gate electrode materials such as meta] silicides, titanium-silicide for gate oxides. Many previous authors have researched the improvements sub-micron gate oxide quality. However, little has been done on the electrical quality and reliability of ultra thin gates. In this research, we recommend novel shallow trench isolation structure and two step TiSi$_{2}$ formation for sub 0.1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ gate oxide.

InP JFET Devices for High Speed Switching Application (광대역 교환을 위한 InP JFET소자)

  • A high performance fully ion-implanted InP JFET was characterized for high speed switching elements. The switch has an insertion loss of 5.5dB with 31.6dB isolation at 1GHz. This device can effectively swithc a byte-multiplexed 2Gb/s signal and an eye-diagram taken at 2Gb/s shows an error-free eye pattern. Therefore, this device can be used as a switching element for high transmission data rate for monolithic integration of optoelectronic circuit in the long-wavelength region.
