광양제철소에 대한 지역 시민들의 기업이미지 분석: CFI를 이용하여 (A Study on Citizen Perceptions of the Gwangyang Steel and Iron Company: focus on CFI)

  • Purpose - This study aims to (a) analyze local citizens' perception of a local company, the Gwangyang Steel and Iron Company (GSIC); (b) compare the perception toward the local company with that of national citizens' perceptions towards many other unspecified companies, which were surveyed biannually by The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI); and (c) analyze how such companies evaluate perceptions towards them, in relation to citizens' socioeconomic position, such as their education status. Research design, data, methodology - The data were collected using a questionnaire, which was given to a sample of local citizens in cities. To test the hypotheses, factor analyses, a t-test, and an ANOVA were conducted. The total number of respondents was 1798. The data gathered from the respondents of the sample were analyzed using SPSS Win 19.0 software. Perception towards the company was evaluated on the corporate favorite index (CFI). The CFI index shows how positive citizens feel towards a company. It is calculated using five leading factors, consisting of the following: contribution to the economy, productivity, international competitiveness, social contribution, and ethical management. The higher the level of positive feelings exhibited, the closer the index will come to 100. Results - As a result of the analysis, the CFI index towards the GSIC stood at 67.3. The CFI index towards the company is 16.5 points higher than that of the index towards the many other unspecified companies, which were surveyed by the bi-annual KCCI study in the first half of 2011. The other five indexes stood as follows: contribution to the economy, productivity, social contribution, and ethical management was 69.2, 71.2, 64.6, and 58.6, respectively. These indexes are 18.3, 4.6, 27.6, and 35.6, respectively, higher than those found by the KCCI study. However, international competitiveness is 73.0 (9.8 points lower than that of the KCCI study). This survey thus shows that the CFI of the local citizens towards the global company GSIC is very high when compared with the CFI index towards the many other unspecified companies that was determined by the KCCI survey. Conclusions - This survey shows that local citizens have high expectations of economic activity, increasing working opportunities, and regional cooperation projects from the local company, GSIC. In addition, the CFI index towards GSIC evaluates results depending on the respondent's relationship with the company, and their educational status. Respondents, whose family or relatives were working as employees of GSIC, have relatively positive perceptions of GSIC, and respondents with a relatively higher educational status also share positive perceptions. Local citizens expect the profit-making of the company to operate in accordance with management activities, and at the same time, they expect that the wealth generated by the company will return to wider society.

혈액 투석 환자에서 조혈 호르몬 치료 효과 향상에 대한 연구 (A Study for Improvement of Erythropoietin Responsiveness in Hemodialysis Patients)

  • 본 연구는 만성 신부전 환자의 빈혈 치료로 사용되는 EPO의 효과를 감소시키는 여러 원인을 조사하고 각각의 원인에 대한 적절한 치료를 함으로써 EPO의 치료 효과를 향상시키고자 2001년 4월 현재까지 영남대학교 의과대학 부속병원 인공 신장실에서 6개월 이상 혈액 투석중인 72명을 대상으로 전향적 연구를 시행하였다. 전체 대상군(n=72) 에서 IVAA 12주 치료와 철분 상태에 따른 IVAA 효과를 판정하여 가장 효과적인 기능성 철 결핍 군에게는 IVAA 치료를 8주 연장하였다. 혈중 알루미늄이 4 ${\mu}g/l$ 이상군과 저장철이 500 ${\mu}g/l$ 이상인 군에게는 DFO를 8주간 투여하였다. Tsat 20% 미만 군에서는 경구 철 투여를 증가시키면서 IVAA 12주간 투여하였고, i-PTH가 120 pg/ml 이상 군에게는 비타민 $D_3$를 투여하였다. 성적은 다음과 같다. 1. 전체 대상군(n=72) 에게 IVAA 12주 치료 후 혈색소는 투여 전에 비해 투여 후 2, 4, 6주에 유의한 증가를 보였으나, 이후 지속적인 효과를 보이지는 않았다. 2. 철분 상태에 따른 분류 군중 IVAA 12주 치료에 가장 효과적인 반응을 보인 군은 혈중 ferritin이 100-500 ${\mu}g/l$이고 Tsat이 30% 이하 군이었다. IVAA 20주간 투여 결과, 혈색소는 초기 $9.01{\pm}0.73$에서 2, 4주에 각각 $9.56{\pm}1.01$ g/dl, $9.45{\pm}0.93$ g/dl로 유의한 증가를 보였고, EPO는 초기 $116.4{\pm}50.8$ IU/kg/week에서 2, 4, 6, 10, 12, 16, 20주에 각각 $85.4{\pm}74.4$ IU/kg/week, $86.8{\pm}69.8$ IU/kg/week, $95.3{\pm}63.4$ IU/kg/week, $92.4{\pm}63.9$ IU/kg/week, $94.8{\pm}68.2$ IU/kg/week, $93.4{\pm}50.2$ IU/kg/week로 유의한 감소를 보였다. 또한, 초기 Tsat $20.3{\pm}5.4%$에서 2, 6, 16, 20주에 각각 $27.5{\pm}12.8%$, $28.2{\pm}15.2%$, $32.1{\pm}17.3%$, $29.2{\pm}12.9%$로 유의한 상승을 보였다. 3. 혈중 알루미늄이 4 ${\mu}g/l$ 이상 군(n=12)에서 IVAA 12주간 투여 후 DFO 8주간 치료 결과, IVAA 12주간 투여시 혈색소의 유의한 변화는 없었으나, DFO 투여사 투여 전 EPO $145.8{\pm}72.2$ IU/kg/week에서 투여후 2, 4, 6, 8 주에 각각 $104.5{\pm}95.7$ IU/kg/week, $88.2{\pm}99.9$ IU/kg/week, $90.9{\pm}67.1$ IU/kg/week. $99.1{\pm}58.9$ IU/kg/week로 EPO의 유의한 감소를 보였다. 그러나 혈중 알루미늄은 DFO 전후에 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 4. 혈중 ferritin이 500 ${\mu}g/l$ 이상 군 (n=25)에서 IVAA 12주간 투여 후 DFO 8주간 치료 결과, 혈색소와 EPO 용량의 유의한 차이는 없었다. 5. Tsat 20% 미만 군(n=7) 에서 경구 철 투여를 증가시키면서 IVAA 12주간 투여 결과, 투여 10주에 Tsat의 유의한 상승을 동반한 EPO 용량의 감소를 보였으나, 혈색소의 유의한 변화는 없었다. 6. I-PTH 200 pg/rnl 이상 군(n=10)에서 비타민 $D_3$ 치료 결과, 비타민 $D_3$ 치료 후 2주부터 지속적으로 유의한 i-PTH의 억제에도 불구하고 혈색소와 EPO 용량의 유의한 차이는 없었다. 결론적으로 만성 신부전 환자의 빈혈 치료로 사용되는 EPO의 효과를 감소시키는 원인 중 기능성 철 결핍성 빈혈 환자에서의 IVAA 치료는 Tsat의 증가 및 혈색소의 증가와 EPO의 감량 효과가 있었고, 혈중 알루미늄이 증가된 경우, 저용량의 DFO 사용으로 EPO의 감량 효과를 나타내었다. 이러한 결론을 확인하려면 향후 대규모의 전향적 연구가 필요하리라 생각된다.

식사형태가 다른 여대생의 영양상태와 혈청구리 함량에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Copper Status of Female College Students According to Dietary Pattern)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relation of nutrients intake and copper status between nonvegetarian female college students and lacto-ovo-vegetarian female college students. The height, weight and serum copper concentrations were determined. Food nutrients analysis procedure was made by computer using food composition table. The results was summarized as followed; 1) Mean values of weight & height were respectively 53.581$\pm$1.68kg.157.051$\pm$1.43cm in nonvegetarians and 51.23$\pm$1.45kg.156.65$\pm$1.24cm in facto-ovo-vegetarians. 2) The average intakes of protein, fat, carbohydrate, fiber, Ca, P, Fe and Vit. C were above the RDA in the two groups, but those of calories was below the RDA in non-vegetarians. Especially, fiber and icon intakes were significant in the two groups(p< 0.01, p< 0.05). 3) The percentage of iron absorption was 7.64% in nonvegetarians and 5% in facto-ovo-vegetarians. 4) Mean serum copper values of nonvegetarian and vegetarian were 107.08$\pm$14.39ug/100m1 and 113.31$\pm$20.86ug/100ml, respectively.

영상처리를 이용한 원사공정 검사시스템 (A Yarn Process Inspection System Using Image Processing)

  • Line scan camera has been widely used in the area of inspection of glass, film, fabric, iron, PCB and etc. due to the high resolution and the high speed. We developed the line scan based vision system to inspect tangled and cut-off status of yarn in the manufacturing process. The original image is binarized with a proper threshold, and the gap distances in the yarn are measured in real time, so finally the status of the process is decided by the maximum value of the gap distance. All procedures are executed in real time by realization of multi-processed threads. By implementation of this system, the error of the yarn in manufacturing process can be precedently monitored and the loss of the yarn is decreased efficiently.

일 지역 중국인 유학생의 영양소 섭취 상태, 체질량지수와 우울의 관계 (Nutritional Intake, Body Mass Index and Depression Among Chinese College Students in an Urban Area of South Korea)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate nutritional intake, body mass index (BMI) and depression, and to elucidate depression in relation to nutritional intake and BMI among Chinese college students studying in South Korea. Methods: A descriptive study design was adopted. Data were collected from 170 Chinese college students in South Korea June-August, 2019. In this study, 24-hour dietary records were obtained and BMI was measured. Nutrient intakes were calculated from the dietary records using the CAN-PRO software. Depression was assessed using the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CES-D). Results: Of 170 participants, 19 (11.2%) were underweight and 42 (24.7%) were overweight. Female, single, and non-smoking participants were underweight. There were 97 (57.1%) participants experiencing depression, and 99 (58.2%) consuming lower protein than the recommended nutrient intake resulting in insufficient nutrients. The intake of vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, pantothenic acid, calcium, iron, and selenium was much lower than the standard. Depressive participants were significantly greater among the underweight participants and those consuming insufficient nutrients in terms of protein, pantothenic acid, and selenium. Conclusion: An intervention program is required to improve nutritional status, which should be a part of the strategies to manage depression for Chinese college students in South Korea.

영양상담에 의한 심혈관질환자의 식행동, 혈청 지질 및 항산화영양소 상태 변화 (Effectiveness of Nutrition Counseling on Dietary Behavior and Serum Levels of Lipids and Antioxidants in Patients with Cardiovascular Disease)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate whether nutrition counseling could lead to a beneficial outcomes in patients with cardiovascular disease(CVD). Fifty CVD patients(23 men and 27 women) participated in a dietary counseling program which was based on serum lipid management. Various markers of disease risk including lifestyles, anthropometric indices, eating behaviors, serum lipids, antioxidants, lipid peroxides were measured before and after the program. The program lasted 3-11 months depending on individuals. Waist/hip ratio decreased after nutrition counseling only in women. Smoking and alcohol drinking status did not change significantly after counseling. Food habit score increased significantly in both men and women(p<0.05), and patients consumed mixed cereal rice, fruits, seaweeds, legumes more frequently and snacks less frequently after nutrition counseling (p<0.05). Although intakes of energy, carbohydrate and vitamin B1 were reduced significantly after nutrition counseling, nutrient densities of calcium and iron of diets have increased significantly after nutrition counseling, and those of other micronutrients were not different Serum total cholesterol decreased significantly in men and LDL cholesterol decreased significantly in women. In women lipid peroxide level decreased and $\alpha$-tocopherol level increased significantly, while there was no significantly change in men. We conclude that well-planned nutrition counseling would reduce risks of cardiovascular disease through improving dietary behavior, lipid profile and antioxidant status.

유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅 기술 기반 환경 모니터링/진단 시스템의 아키텍처 및 사례 연구 (Ubiquitous Computing Technology Based Environmental Monitoring and Diagnosis System : Architecture and Case Study)

  • In this paper, an environmental monitoring and diagnosis system based on ubiquitous computing technology, shortly u-Eco Monitoring System, is proposed. u-Eco Monitoring System is designed to: 1) Collect information from the manufacturing processes via ubiquitous computing technology, 2) Analyze the current status, 3) Identify the cause of problem if detected by rule-based and case-based reasoning, and 4) Provide the results to the operator for proper decision making. Based on functional modeling, a generic architecture is derived, followed by application to a manufacturing system in iron and steel making industry. Finally, to show the validity of the proposed method, a prototype is developed and tested. The developed methods can be used as a conceptual framework for designing environmental monitoring and diagnosis system for industrial practices by which monitoring accuracy and response time for abnormal status can be significantly enhanced, and relieving operator pressure from manual monitoring and error-prone decision making.

영유아 보육시설 어린이들의 영양, 건강상태 (Nutrition and Health Status of Day-Care Center Children)

  • Although it is rapidly increasing the number of day-care centers in Korea, the quality of food and nutrition services is not improved sufficiently. The purpose of this study was to investigate the nutrition and health status of children in day-care center. Menus for lunch of 253 centers were collected and the content of nutrients was analyzed. Nutrient intakes from lunch and snacks of 90 children were investigated using weighing method and those from breakfast and dinner by 24-hour recall method surrogated from their mothers. Anthropometric indices of height, weight, skinfold thickness, the ratio of fat were measured. The lunch menus for children contained $437.0{\pm}138.9\;Kcal$, $17.6{\pm}6.7gr$ protein, $153.9{\pm}87.7mg\;Ca$, $3.63{\pm}1.6mg\;Fe$, $164.5{\pm}158.2RE\;Vit\;A$. and $4.46{\pm}3.04mg\;Vit\;B_1$. Energy, Ca and Fe supplied were below one third of RDAs. Mean daily calorie intake of children aged 3 years was $1303.0{\pm}474.0Kcal/day$, $1322.3{\pm}442.4Kcal$ in aged four, $1307.0{\pm}545.9Kcal$ in aged five and $1497.1{\pm}93.5kcal$ in six year of age. Intake of iron, vitamin A and vitamin $B_1$ were below RDAs.

혈액투석 환자의 영양상태, 영양지식도 및 식습관에 대한 연구 (A Study of the Nutritional Status, Nutritional Knowledge, and Dietary Habits of the Hemodialysis Patients)

  • Malnutrition is a common problem in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis(HD) and compromised food intake is an important cause. Malnutrition is one of the important factors influencing mortality in chronic HD patients. We investigated the nutritional parameters of 50 Korean HD patients(mean age: 46.9 $\pm$ 10.3y, men : 23, women : 27) by measuring anthropometric and biochemical blood indices and assessing food intake using 24-h recall method. Also we administered two questionnaires, one for assessing nutritional knowledge about renal disease and dietary therapy, the other for measuring dietary habits related to dietary therapy. According to the distribution of BMI, 21.3% of HD patients were underweight. The hematological values of HD patients, such as plasma hemoglobin, hematocrit, and total lymphocyte count were below the normal range. The serum cholesterol levels were 133.2 $\pm$ 30.5mg/dl. HD patients took energy and protein only 77.5% and 83.1%, respectively, of their RDA. There were significantly positive correlations between nutritional knowledge and intake of nutrients, such as energy, fat, cholesterol, iron, potassium, vitamin B$_1$, vitamin B$_2$, and niacin. Also, there was a significantly positive correlation between nutritional knowledge and dietary habits(r = 0.317, p < 0.05). In conclusion, Korean HD patients showed mild malnutrition and suboptimal nutrition intake. It can be postulated that the dietary intake can be increased by nutrition education improving nutritional knowledge and correcting the dietary habits of HD patients.

일부 학동기 어린이들의 비만도와 혈청지질 및 이에 영향을 미치는 인자에 관한 조사연구 (Obesity, Serum lipid and Related Eating Behaviors of School Children)

  • This study was designed to investigate the obesity rate with anthropometric indices, nutritional status and serum lipid levels of 260 school children from 5th grade of elementry school residing in Puchon city. Obesity was defined as fat percentage that exceeds 25$\%$. The prevalence rate of obesity were 15.2$\%$ for male and 14.1$\%$ for female. Mean fat percentage, BMI and Rohrer indice of obese male were 30.3$\%$, 21.0 and 150.2 respectively and 28.0$\%$, 21.5 and 151.9 for obese female. Mean serum TG, apo-B of obese female was significantly lower than that of non-obese. Obese male did not show any difference in serum lipid levels. The proportion of students whose serum cholesterol levels exceed 170mg/dI, which is cutoff point of bordeline for coronary artery disease, was 12.0% for male and 15.6$\%$ for female. The major factors affecting nutritional status were the amount of living expense, existence of mother's job and the regularity of having breakfast. Children who's living expense more than 500 thousants Won showed lower intake of Iron, vitamin A, thiamin, niacin and ascorbic acid(p$\ll$0.05). Children who's mothers are having a job were observed with decreased height(p$\ll$0.05). Children having breakfast regularly showed increased BMI and Rohrer indice than those of children having breakfast often of never.
