  • The Internet of Things(IoT) market is growing exponentially as a core growth engine of the future. Major companies of the world are competitively providing the IoT services to dominate the IoT market first and create ecosystem around their companies. In order to establish the IoT services and contribute to the related industry, they will need to make efforts to provide the IoT services that the users desire, and which the users can have new experiences with. Thus, we attempted to draw out the user value factors to help successful IoT service development. For this purpose, we explored the meaning and concept of IoT, drew out a trend matrix of IoT through the literature review related to IoT and conducted a survey through the user values established by the literature related to IoT and the focus group interviews. As a result, we identified thirteen user value factors of the IoT services, which are manageability, relationship, familiarity, expandability, simplicity, entertainment, safety, economic feasibility, compensation, automation, rapidity, informativity and environment-friendliness. This study is expected to be used as a basic material in understanding the IoT services and as standards or assessment items to develop the IoT services that the users want.

  • Recently, frozen and refrigerated appliances on the market are being released with additional IoT functions, but there are few tests on IoT functions. In particular, the existing test system does not have IoT test items for IoT-based frozen and refrigerated appliances, making it difficult for companies to find the cause even if defects occur, and test institutions are also restricted from selecting IoT-related test items and conducting correct performance tests. In this paper, we design a test item framework that can identify product defects and identify causes in the performance test process of frozen and refrigerated products with IoT functions among products in the home appliance field, and propose test methods and management measures using them. Through the proposed research, manufacturers and testing institutions can test the correct performance of IoT-based frozen and refrigerated products, thereby enhancing the completeness and securing reliability of the products.

  • Services that enhance user convenience by using various IoT devices are increasing with the development of Internet of Things(IoT) technology. Also, since the price of IoT sensors has become cheaper, companies providing services by collecting and utilizing data from various sensors are increasing. The smart IoT home system is a representative use case that improves the user convenience by using IoT devices. To improve user convenience of Smart IoT home system, this paper proposes a method for the control of related devices based on data analysis. Internal environment measurement data collected from IoT sensors, device control data collected from device control actuators, and user judgment data are learned to predict the current home state and control devices. Especially, differently from previous approaches, it uses deep neural network to analyze the data to determine the inner state of the home and provide information for maintaining the optimal inner environment. In the experiment, we compared the results of the long-term measured data with the inferred data and analyzed the discrimination performance of the proposed method.

  • Today many companies are offering IoT-enabled products and place emphasis on security from the planning stage to protect their products and user information from external threats. The present security levels, however, remain low because the time and resources invested in developing security requirements for each device are far from enough to meet the needs of a wide range of IoT products. Nevertheless, vulnerabilities of IoT devices have been reported continuously, which calls for more detailed security requirements for home IoT devices. In this context, this research identified threats of home IoT systems by using Microsoft Threat Modeling Tool. It then suggested measures to enhance the security of home IoT devices by developing security assessment items through comparative analysis of the identified threats, domestic and global vulnerability assessment standards and related research. It also verified the effectiveness of the developed security requirements by testing them against the existing ones, and the results revealed the security requirements developed in this research proved to be more effective in identifying vulnerabilities.

  • Due to the dazzling development of IT in this IT-oriented era, information delivering technology among objects, between objects and humans, and among humans has been actively performed. As information delivery technology has been actively performed, IoT became closely related to our daily lives and ubiquitous at any time and place. Therefore, IoT has become a part of our daily lives. CoAp, a web-based protocol, is mostly used in IoT environment. CoAp protocol is mostly used in the network where transmission speed is low along with the huge loss. Therefore, it is mostly used in IoT environment. However, there is a weakness on IoT that it is weak in security. If security issue occurs in IoT environment, there is a possibility for secret information of individuals or companies to be disclosed. If attackers infect the targeted device, and infected device accesses to the wireless frequently used in public areas, the relevant device sends arp spoofing to other devices in the network. Afterward, infected devices receive the packet sent by other devices in the network after occupying the packet flow in the internal network and send them to the designated hacker's server. This study suggests counter-attacks on this issues and a method of coping with them.
