  • SmartThings is one of the most popular open platforms for home automation IoT solutions that allows users to create their own applications called SmartApps for personal use or for public distribution. The nature of openness demands high standards on the quality of SmartApps, but there have been few studies that have evaluated this thoroughly yet. As part of software quality practice, code reviews are responsible for detecting violations of coding standards and ensuring that best practices are followed. The purpose of this research is to propose systematically designed quality metrics under the well-known Goal/Question/Metric methodology and to evaluate the quality of SmartApps through automatic code reviews using a static analysis. We first organize our static analysis rules by following the GQM methodology, and then we apply the rules to real-world SmartApps to analyze and evaluate them. A study of 105 officially published and 74 community-created real-world SmartApps found a high ratio of violations in both types of SmartApps, and of all violations, security violations were most common. Our static analysis tool can effectively inspect reliability, maintainability, and security violations. The results of the automatic code review indicate the common violations among SmartApps.

  • Due to the recent development of the Internet of Things (IoT) and the increase in services using drones, research on IoD is actively underway. Drones have limited computational power and storage size, and when communicating between drones, data is exchanged after proper authentication between entities. Drones must be secure from traceability because they contain sensitive information such as location and travel path. In this paper, we point out a fatal security vulnerability that can be caused by the use of pseudonyms and certificates in existing IoD research and propose a solution.

  • Recently, the Internet of Things (IoT), which has been applied to various industrial fields, is constantly evolving in the process of automation and digitization. However, in the network where IoT devices are built, research on IoT critical information-related data sharing, personal information protection, and data integrity among intermediate nodes is still being actively studied. In this study, we propose a blockchain-based IoT critical information management technique that is easy to implement without burdening the intermediate node in the network environment where IoT is built. The proposed technique allocates a random value of a random size to the IoT critical information arriving at the intermediate node and manages it to become a decentralized P2P blockchain. In addition, the proposed technique makes it easier to manage IoT critical data by creating licenses such as time limit and device limitation according to the weight condition of IoT critical information. Performance evaluation and proposed techniques have improved delay time and processing time by 7.6% and 10.1% on average compared to existing techniques.

  • Air pollution caused by industrial development has become a level that can seriously threaten human health. In general, indoor air pollution is considered to be lower than outdoors, but modern people live indoors most of the time, thus it is essential to keep the indoor air quality comfortable in order to take care of one's own health and improve the quality of life. Therefore, the development of an indoor environment management platform using Internet of Things and data processing technology, which is currently drawing attention, is considered a very meaningful study. In this paper, we designed an IoT-based management platform that can remotely monitor and control indoor environments. In addition, the functions of the IoT terminal, gateway, and data server constituting the platform were implemented using open source and open libraries, and all functional operations were also verified. In particular, the IoT terminal and the gateway in this paper exchange data using BLE communication, so they can operate with relatively low power and since the gateway uses the BLE Advertising mode, it has the advantage of automatically recognizing IoT terminals that have not been previously configured.

  • This study deals with the analysis of the technology association rules between CPC codes of the Internet of Things(IoT) patent, the core of the Fourth Industrial Revolution ICT-based technology. The association rules between CPC codes were extracted using R, an open source for data mining. To this end, we analyzed 369 of the 605 patents related to the Internet of Things filed with the Patent Office until July 2019, with a complex CPC code, up to the subclass-level. As a result of the technology association rules, CPC codes with high support were [H04W ${\rightarrow}$ H04L](18.2%), [H04L ${\rightarrow}$ H04W](18.2%), [G06Q ${\rightarrow}$ H04L](17.3%), [H04L ${\rightarrow}$ G06Q](17.3%), [H04W ${\rightarrow}$ G06Q](9.8%), [G06Q ${\rightarrow}$ H04W](9.8%), [G06F ${\rightarrow}$ H04L](7.9%), [H04L ${\rightarrow}$ G06F](7.9%), [G06F ${\rightarrow}$ G06Q](6.2%), [G06Q ${\rightarrow}$ G06F](6.2%). After analyzing the technology interconnection network, the core CPC codes related to technology association rules are G06Q and H04L. The results of this study can be used to predict future patent trends.

  • To create a personal menu, there are a number of considerations. Personal menus are different depending on the dietary therapy for disease, diet for weight control. In addition, the menu you choose, depending on the personal preference and the season, the weather, current personal feelings may differ. An individual should expect to recommend a balanced diet, taking nutritional status just for health care. In this paper, we propose a personalized menu recommendations System framework to meet such needs. To recommend menus the system receives data of the body's individual circumstances, ingredients situation, environmental conditions, psychological condition, emotional condition and provides a recommended menu by performing the inference using the ontology generated from external application systems. In order to provide such services, Internet of Things (IoT) environment should be the foundation. In this paper, we propose a personalized diet recommendation system framework in the IoT standardization environment that has oneM2M common service platform.
