  • The recent growth in the use of mobile devices has contributed to increased computing and storage requirements. Cloud computing has been used over the past decade to cater to computational and storage needs over the internet. However, the use of various mobile applications like Augmented Reality (AR), M2M Communications, V2X Communications, and the Internet of Things (IoT) led to the emergence of mobile cloud computing (MCC). All data from mobile devices is offloaded and computed on the cloud, removing all limitations incorporated with mobile devices. However, delays induced by the location of data centers led to the birth of edge computing technologies. In this paper, we discuss one of the edge computing technologies, i.e., cloudlet. Cloudlet brings the cloud close to the end-user leading to reduced delay and response time. An algorithm is proposed for scheduling tasks on cloudlet by considering VM's load. Simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm provides 12% and 29% improvement over EMACS and QRR while balancing the load.

  • This study seeks to find a way to induce users to expand their direct participation in sports through the acceptance of digital technology. From July 1 to August 30, 2022, a survey was conducted targeting home training users who applied the Internet of Things (IoT). 129 people participated in the survey through non-face-to-face self-administration method. For data processing, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and 3-step mediation regression analysis were conducted using IBM's SPSS 21.0 program. The results of the study are as follows. First, in the relationship between the home training PPM model and direct participation in sports, ease appeared to have a mediating effect. In the factors of push, simple functionality showed a complete mediating effect, and inefficiency showed a partial mediating effect. Among pull factors, enjoyment and possibility of experience showed a complete mediating effect. In the mooring factors, individual innovativeness showed a complete mediating effect. • 6G network technology represents the next generation of communications, supporting high-speed connectivity, ultra-low latency, and integration with cutting-edge technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), virtual reality, and autonomous vehicles. These advancements promise to drive transformative changes in digital society. However, as technology progresses, the demand for efficient data transmission and energy management between smart devices and network equipment also intensifies. A significant challenge within 6G networks is the optimization of interactions between satellites and smart devices. This study addresses this issue by introducing a new game theory-based technique aimed at minimizing system-wide energy consumption and latency. The proposed technique reduces the processing load on smart devices and optimizes the offloading decision ratio to effectively utilize the resources of Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed technique achieves a 30% reduction in energy consumption and a 40% improvement in latency compared to existing methods, thereby significantly enhancing performance.

  • Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has been recognized as a significant technology in the fifth generation (5G) and beyond mobile communication, which encompasses the advanced smart convergence of the artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT). In NOMA, since the channel resources are shared by many users, it is essential to establish the user fairness. Such fairness is achieved by the power allocation among the users, and in turn, the less power is allocated to the stronger channel users. Especially, the first and second strong channel users have to share the extremely small amount of power. In this paper, we consider the power optimization for the two users with the small power. First, the closed-form expression for the power allocation is derived and then the results are validated by the numerical results. Furthermore, with the derived analytical expression, for the various channel environments, the optimal power allocation is investigated and the impact of the channel gain difference on the power allocation is analyzed.

  • In order to reduce the risk of accidents, we proposed a construction safety management system combined with wearable device and LoRa (Low-Range Wireless Network) communication method to apply the usefulness of Internet (IoT) technology which means "everything connected". to construction safety management Management system. The proposed wearable safety device is a device that relays information exchange between wearable safety device and safety management server by LoRa wireless communication method. The safety management server can store workers bio-data and perform big data analysis. If a risk factor is determined from the analysis result, a warning is sent to the wearable safety device and the manager's application. The goal of this system is to prevent construction workers from entering the dangerous area that is not suitable for work, and to prevent safety accidents caused by human cause by detecting abnormal condition during work.

  • This paper proposes an IoT-based indoor autonomous driving system that applies SLAM (Simultaneous Localization And Mapping) and Navigation techniques in a ROS (Robot Operating System) environment based on TurtleBot3. The proposed autonomous driving system can be applied to indoor autonomous wheelchairs and robots. In this study, the operation was verified by applying it to an indoor self-driving wheelchair. The proposed autonomous driving system provides two functions. First, indoor environment information is collected and stored, which allows the wheelchair to recognize obstacles. By performing navigation using the map created through this, the rider can move to the desired location through autonomous driving of the wheelchair. Second, it provides the ability to track and move a specific logo through image recognition using OpenCV. Through this, information services can be received from guides wearing uniforms with the organization's unique logo. The proposed system is expected to provide convenience to passengers by improving mobility, safety, and usability over existing wheelchairs.

  • The Internet of Things (or IoT for short) which refers to uniquely identifiable objects and their virtual representations in an Internet-like structure is to be reality today. The amount of data on IoT is expected to increase abruptly and there are several key issues like usefulness interoperability between multiple distributes systems, services and databases. In this paper a methodology is proposed to realize a recently developed cloud service model, Contents as a Service (CaaS), which is contents delivery model referred to as 'on-demand contents'. In the proposed method, the global object identification, ePosition, comprising the structured form of two sorts of text strings with a separation symbol like # is applied to identify a specific content and registered with the content at the same server. It is easy-to-realize and effective to solve the interoperability problem systematically and logically. Some APIs for the proposed CaaS service are to be converged to provide some upgraded cloud service model such as 'CaaS supported SaaS' and 'CaaS supported PaaS'.

  • In this paper, an architecture of a perpetual smart video device and its energy control model for the internet of things (IoT) are proposed. The smart video device consists of a processor, an image sensor, a video codec, and a network controller. In the proposed energy control model, energy consumed by image sensing, video encoding, and transmission and energy harvested by solar panels are defined as an input and an output of a battery, an energy buffer. Frame rate, quantization parameter, and operating frequency of processor are defined as the energy control parameters, and these parameters control the input and the output energy of the energy buffer, finally control the energy left in the battery. The proposed energy control model is validated by the energy consumption measurement of the smart phone based platform for various combinations of energy control parameters, and can be used for the design of perpetual smart video device.
