  • In the Internet of Things (IoT) era, objects are connected to each other by wired and wireless networks, and information is exchanged whenever necessary. Channel and network environments change over time; thus, a carrier sensing function that identifies whether signals containing information are present in the channel is essential. The carrier sensing circuit of a wireless communication system determines the receiver sensitivity, and the receiver sensitivity is closely related to the service coverage and service quality of the system. As the receiver sensitivity decreases, the service coverage increases but it becomes sensitive to noise. However, as the receiver sensitivity increases, the service coverage decreases but it becomes insensitive to the noise. Therefore, carrier sensing design and optimization are very important from the viewpoint of the receiver sensitivity and noise sensitivity. This paper proposes an effective carrier sensing technique from the viewpoint of the receiver sensitivity for the long range IoT.

  • In the Internet of Things environment, new security requirements are changing rapidly. In this rapid change, if a breach occurs due to a security threat, great damage will occur. The SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) environment is highly vulnerable to security threats, and if a breach occurs, serious damage will occur. In order to strengthen the security of the SASE environment, a specialized curriculum that covers the unique characteristics and problem solving of SASE is required. In this paper, we propose a curriculum model for responding to security incidents in the SASE environment. The proposed curriculum model is designed to cover various aspects of SASE security, including threat types, breach scenarios, and response procedures. The goal of this model is to increase security awareness and prepare professionals to effectively handle security incidents within a SASE framework.

  • In this paper, we propose a device identification system for network visibility that can maintain the secure internal network environment in the IoT era. Recently, the area of enterprise network is getting huge and more complicated. Not only desktops and smartphones but also business pads, barcode scanners, APs, Video Surveillance, digital doors, security devices, and lots of Internet of Things (IoT) devices are rapidly pouring into the business network, and there are highly risk of security threats. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the device identification system that includes the process and module-specific functions to identify the exploding device in the IoT era. The proposed system provides in-depth visibility of the devices and their own vulnerabilities to the IT manager in company. These information help to mitigate the risk of the potential cyber security threats in the internal network and offer the unified security management against the business risks.

  • Recently, technologies related to the Internet of Things have developed rapidly and research on mobile environment home network systems is actively in progress. The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Working Group proposed the CoAP/6LoWPAN technology as a suitable protocol for internetworking IoT devices with the Internet in a limited environment and adopting it as a standard. However, the existing home network systems hardly include security protocols. IETF recommends DTLS(Datagram Transport Layer Security) on UDP as security protocol suitable for IoT environments. In this paper, smart home network system based on CoAP/6LoWPAN by using DTLS is implemented in mobile environments. The data transfer time is measured according to each procedure of the DTLS protocol and the need to improve DTLS protocol is suggested.

  • Contents services have been provided to people in a variety of ways. Jukebox service is one of the contents streaming which provides an automated music-playing service. User inserts coin and presses a play button, the jukebox automatically selects and plays the record. The Disk Jockey (DJ) in Korean cafeteria (café) received contents desired of customer and played them through the speakers in the store. In this paper, we propose a service platform that reinvented the Korean café DJ in an integrated environment of IoT and cloud computing. The user in a store can request contents (music, video, and message) through the service platform. The contents are provided through the public screen and speaker in the store where the user is located. This allows people in the same location store to enjoy the contents together. The user information and the usage history are collected and managed in the cloud. Therefore, users can receive customized services regardless of stores. We compare our platform to exist services. As a result of the performance evaluation, the proposed platform shows that contents can be efficiently provided to users and adapts IoT-Cloud integrated environments.

  • The Internet of Things (IoT) is vulnerable to a wide range of security risks, which can be effectively mitigated by applying Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) sharing as a proactive mitigation approach. In realizing CTI sharing, it is of paramount importance to guarantee end-to-end protection of the shared information as unauthorized disclosure of CTI is disastrous for organizations using IoT. Furthermore, resource-constrained devices should be supported through lightweight operations. Unfortunately, the aforementioned are not satisfied by the Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS), which state-of-the-art CTI sharing systems mainly depends on. As a promising alternative to HTTPS, Ephemeral Diffie-Hellman over COSE (EDHOC) can be considered because it meets the above requirements. However, EDHOC in its current version contains several security flaws, most notably due to the unprotected initial message. Consequently, we propose a lightweight end-to-end privacy-preserving security protocol that improves the existing draft EDHOC protocol by utilizing previously shared keys and keying materials while providing ticket-based optimized reauthentication. The proposed protocol is not only formally validated through BAN-logic and AVISPA, but also proved to fulfill essential security properties such as mutual authentication, secure key exchange, perfect forward secrecy, anonymity, confidentiality, and integrity. Also, comparing the protocol's performance to that of the EDHOC protocol reveals a substantial improvement with a single roundtrip to allow frequent CTI sharing.

  • By developing the IoT(Internet of Things) technology, devices for smart home environment have rapidly increased. With respect to mobiles, these applications are used to control and manage the various smart devices effectively. However, the existing mechanisms only provide simple information, and hence a difficulty to search or control the smart devices persists, since there is no meaningful relationship between them. In this research, we suggest an interface which visualizes the device's data and controls them effectively, based on the user's device using pattern. As a solution for this problem, we classify the user pattern based on a timeline for the associated circumstance, and visualize the device's data to make a group or to control individually in an easier approach. Also, all meaningful information could be confirmed by summarizing all the data of smart devices.
