  • In this paper, we designed a IoT(Internet of Things) sensor block embedded lightweight house deck structures that can be implemented using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer(CFRP). Deck-Sensor interconnection interface block via IoT connectivity Hub that can mount external environmental sensors such as fire sensors on the Deck body itself was also proposed. Additionally we described the configuration of devices for data acquisition and analysis based on IoT environmental detection sensors that can be commonly installed and used on these deck bodies. On the other hand, received sensing data based monitoring user interface(UI) also developed and used for sensing data analysis for remote monitoring center. Through the implementation of such IoT-based sensor data transmission and collection analysis devices and UI software, this paper confirmed the availability of CFRP based lightweight House deck structure and possibility of CFRP deck-based IoT sensor data networking and analysis functions.

  • The Internet of Things (IoT) has become an emerging industry that is broadly used in many fields from industrial and agricultural manufacturing to home automation and hospitality industry. Because of the sheer number of connected devices transmitting valuable data, the IoT infrastructures have become a main target for cyber-criminals. One of the key challenges in protecting IoT devices is the lack of security measures by design. Although there are many hardware and software based security solutions (firewalls, honeypots, IPDS, anti-virus etc.) for information systems, most of these solutions cannot be applied to IoT devices because of the fact that IoT devices have limited computing resources (CPU, RAM,). In this paper, we propose a honeypot system called HoneyThing for modem/router devices (i.e. a kind of IoT device). HoneyThing emulates TR-069 protocol which is prevalent protocol used to remotely manage customer-premises equipment (CPE) devices, e.g. modems, routers. Honeything also serves an embedded web server simulating a few actual, critical vulnerabilities associated with the implementation of TR-069 protocol. To show effectiveness of the HoneyThing in capturing real world attacks, we have deployed it in the Internet. The obtained results are highly promising and facilitate to reveal network attacks targeting to CPE devices.

  • The advent of the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, which brings many benefits to our lives, has resulted in numerous IoT devices in many parts of our living environment. However, to adapt to the rapid changes in the IoT market, numerous IoT devices were widely deployed without implementing security by design at the time of development. As a result, malicious attackers have targeted IoT devices, and IoT devices lacking security features have been compromised by attackers, resulting in many security incidents. In particular, an attacker can take control of an IoT device, such as Mirai Botnet, that has insufficient security features. The IoT device can be used to paralyze numerous websites by performing a DDoS attack against a DNS service provider. Therefore, this study proposes a scheme to minimize security vulnerabilities and threats in IoT devices to improve the security of the IoT service environment.

  • This paper is about IoT(Internet of Things)-based smart trash can. In modern society, waste disposal creates several social problems. In particular, large floating populations cause a problem in the city center on weekends as the waste disposal capacity cannot keep up with the amount of waste discharged. There are problems such as stinks, unpleasant aesthetics, and insects caused by overflowing garbage. To solve this problem, a smart trash can was proposed. The proposed smart trash can provide a garbage compression function, an automatic opening and closing of the trash can lid, a display of the amount of garbage, and monitoring and control of the trash can. It is expected that the proposed 'smart trash can' can be usefully used for outdoor waste disposal with a large floating population.

  • An Internet of Things (IoT) is a system where various "things" are connected to each other via a wired/wireless network, and where information is gathered, processed, and interchanged/shared. One of the important actors in IoT is a mobile IoT device (such as a smartphone or tablet). These devices tend to consume a large amount of power in order to provide various high performance application services; however, as the devices cannot be supplied with power all the time, efficient power management is necessary. Power management of mobile IoT devices involves complex relationships between various entities such as application processors (APs), HW modules inside/outside AP, operating systems, mobile IoT platforms, and applications. In order to develop power-efficient mobile IoT devices, a method is needed to systematically analyze these relationships and manage power based on a clear understanding of them. To address this problem, software engineering principles for the development of power-efficient mobile IoT devices are presented in this paper. The feasibility of the proposed principles have been validated in the domain of smartphone camera power management.

  • An Internet of Things(IoT) technology which provides intelligent services by combining context-awareness based intelligences, inter-communication is made of between things and things or between things and person through the network connected with intelligent things is spreading rapidly. Especially as this technology is converged into smart device, mobile, cloud, big data technologies, it is applied into various domains. Therefore, this is different from existing Web or Mobile Application. New types of IoT applications are emerging by adapting IoT into Web or mobile. Because IoT application is not only focused on software but also considering hardware or things aspect, there are limitations existing development process. Existing development processes don't consider analysis and design techniques considering both hardware and things. We propose not only a meta-model for development process which can support IoT application's development but also meta-models for main activities in this paper. Especially we define modeling elements by using UML's extension mechanisms, provide development process, and suggest design techniques how to apply those elements into IoT application's modeling phase. Because there are many types of IoT application's type, we propose an Android and Arduino-based on IoT application as a case study. We expect that proposed technique can be applied into many of various IoT application development and design with a form of flexible and extensible as well as main functionalities or elements are more concretely described. As a result, it brings IoT application's flexibility and the effect of quality improvement.

  • Internet-of-Things(IoT) is the computing environment to provide valuable services by interacting with multiple devices, where diverse devices are connected within the existing Internet infrastructure and acquire context information by sensing. As the concern of IoT has been increased recently, most of the industries develop many IoT devices. And, many people are focused on the IoT application that is utilizing different technologies, which are sensor network, communication technologies, and software engineering. Developing on-ground IoT application is especially even more active in progress depending on increasing of on-ground IoT devices because it is possible for them to access dangerous and inaccessible situation. However, There are a few studies related IoT. Moreover, since on-ground IoT application, which is different from typical software application, has to consider device's characteristics, communication, and surround condition, it reveal challenges, decreasing reliability. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze reliability challenges related to maturity and fault tolerance, one of reliability attributes, occurring in developing on-ground IoT applications and suggest the effective solutions to resolve the challenges. To verify proposed the challenges and solutions, we show result that is applying the solutions to applications. By presenting the case study, we evaluate the effectiveness of applying the solutions to the application.

  • With the rapid development of information and communications technology, the construction of efficient, reliable, and safe Internet of Things (IoT) is an inevitable trend in order to meet high-quality demands for the forthcoming 6G communications. In this paper, we study a secure intelligent reflecting surface (IRS)-assisted IoT system where malicious eavesdropper trying to sniff out the desired information from the transmission links between the IRS and legitimate IoT devices. We discuss the system overall performance and propose a hybrid resource allocation scheme for maximizing the secrecy capacity and secrecy energy efficiency. In order to achieve the trade-off between transmission reliability, communication security, and energy efficiency, we develop a quantum-inspired marine predator algorithm (QMPA) for realizing rational configuration of system resources and prevent from eavesdropping. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the QMPA over other strategies. It is also indicated that proper IRS deployment and power allocation are beneficial for the enhancement of system overall capacity.

  • Internet of Things(IoT) is electronic devices and household appliances use wireless sensor network in environment of high speed wireless network and LTE mobile service. The combination of the development of Internet and wireless network led to development of new forms of service such as electronic devices and household appliances can connect to the Internet through various sensors and online servers such as a Home Network. Even though Internet of Things is useful, there are problems in Internet of Things. In environment of Internet of Things, information leakage could happens by illegal eavesdropping and spoofing. Also illegal devices of wireless communication interference can cause interfere in Internet of things service, physical damage and denial of service by modulation of data and sensor. In this thesis, it will analyze security threats and security vulnerability in environment of mobile services and smart household appliances, then it will suggest plan. To solve security issues, it is important that IT and RFID sensor related companies realize importance of security environment rather than focus on making profit. It is important to develop the standardized security model that applies to the Internet of Things by security-related packages, standard certification system and strong encrypted authentication.
