Objectives : Scalenus anticus syndrome and Piriformis syndrome is representative of myogenic Nerve entrapment syndrome, and their clinical symptoms are similar to HIVD(herniated Intervertebral disc) of cervical or lumbar spine. But, distinguished by muscle test, these syndrome apply to Meridian-muscle therapy. Methods : Meridian-muscle therapy consists of Ashi(阿是)-point therapy, taping therapy, myofascial release technique, manipulation, their based on the traditional meridian-muscle theory. This theory is similar to myofascial pain syndrome in western medicine. The study population consisted of 9 patients who were already diagnosed as Nerve entrapment syndrome with radiological examination & physical examination and muscle test. The evaluation of clinical outcome was done by Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Pain Assesment Questionnaire(PAQ). Results and Conclusions : After treatment, All patient's VAS is decreased as $2.11{\pm}1.59$ and the evaluation of clinical effect was excellent(6 cases) or good(3 cases) according to PAQ. Conclusively, Meridian muscle therapy is efficacious against Nerve entrapment syndrome.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influences of lumbosacral angle, lumbar lordosis, pelvic level and symptoms after standing lumbar traction on HIVD patients. METHOD: For this investigation standing lumbar traction was administered to 22 patient who were diagnosed of HIVD. Standing lumbar traction was given to the subject patients for 3 weeks, times a week and each standng lumbar traction lasted 25 minutes. RESULT: For lumbosacral angle statistically significant different was not found although the lumbosacral angle was normalized. For lumbar lordosis statistically significant different was not found although the lumbar lordosis angle was decreased. For pelvic level statistically significant different was not found although the pelvic level was equalized. Statistically significant improvement in symptoms was found after standing lumbar traction. There was significant correlation between lumbar lordosis and lumbosacral angle. CONCLUSION: This study was found that the influences of standing lumbar traction was to decrease symptoms than lumbosacral angle of patients with HIVD. Therefore, it is necessary that to treat the patients with HIVD applied the method to correct spine angle and pelvic level with standing lumbar traction.
The clutch with torsional damper is installed on a passenger car with manual transmission, which not only transmits the power generated by engine to the transmission but also absorbs the shock and vibration from the engine. The torsional damper in the clutch dissipates the torsional vibration energy and eliminates the resonance in the driveline but high damping in the damper causes the increase of the vibration level which is against the comfort and durability. In this study, a dynamic model for the passenger car driveline with manual transmission was developed to investigate the vibration and the effects of characteristics of the driveline. With the dynamic model, the vibration characteristics of driveline were examined by the mode analysis and driving simulation, and the effects of hysteresis torque and spring constant were investigated. The vehicle tests with prototype torsional dampers were preformed and the test results showed good agreements with the simulation.
A Study was conducted to investigate the type and level of occupational risk factors for the onset of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) in non-manufacturing industries. Total of 38 worksites were investigated from 5 different business areas such as financial institution, transportation service, building maintenance, sanitary service and educational service. Major job and task category were classified and corresponding occupational risk factors such as awkward posture, force exertion, repetitiveness of job, and work/rest cycle were examined using various ergonomic risk analysis techniques. Sets of matrices were developed including types and levels of risk factors for the classified jobs and tasks from 5 different non-manufacturing industries. Also possible ergonomic remedies were suggested for the improvement working conditions. Results and risk factor matrices can be applied as a guideline for the investigation of WMSDs risk factors in similar industries for the prevention of WMSDs.
Objective: Participation restrictions are serious problems that stroke survivors experience while reintegrating into family, work, community, and social situations after participating in rehabilitation programs. The purpose of this study was to explore the factors affecting participation in activities of daily living (ADL), as well as social and leisure activities of individuals with hemiparetic stroke. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: The study involved 96 participants who were diagnosed with a first stroke 6 months before the study (58 men, 38 women; $60.3{\pm}14.3years$). The Berg Balance Scale, Modified Barthel Index, Manual Function test, and Activity Card Sort were used to assess static and dynamic balance function, upper limb function, level of independence, and their level of participation within the community. A regression analysis was used to identify the influence of factors affecting participation in ADL, social and recreational activities. Results: The Activity Card Sort scores were significantly affected by the Manual Function test and Modified Barthel Index scores (p<0.05). Participation in leisure activities was affected by the level of independence. Participation in social activities was affected by the balance function and level of independence of the participants. Conclusions: The results of this study have shown that participation restrictions are affected by upper limb function, balance function, and the level of independence in individuals with hemiparetic stroke.
Recently the assurance of railroad safety is very important issue in KOREA because there are lots of changes in the railroad industries. The Railway Safety Act was established in order to cope with these changes effectively and prevent the railroad transportation accidents. According to this law, Korea Transportation Safety Authority (KOTSA) has been entrusted with 'Integrated Railroad Safety Audit (IRSA)'. Even though newly introduced IRSA is conducted smoothly, it is necessary to study the methodology and criteria of the state's safety audit system in other fields to improve the efficiency. In ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) Safety Management Manual, a state's safety programme embraces those regulations and directives for the conduct of safe operations from the perspective of aircraft operators and those providing air traffic services(ATS), aerodromes and aircraft maintenance. The safety programme may include provisions for such diverse activities as incident reporting, safety investigations, safety audits and safety promotion. To implement such safety activities in an integrated manner requires a coherent SMS(Safety Management System). In this paper, to improve the efficiency of IRSA, we investigated the ICAO's the State's Aviation Safety Audit Systems and ICAO Safety Management Manual. And through the result of investigation, we proposed the improvement concept of IRSA.

Industrial robotic arms are widely adopted in numerous industries for manufacturing automation under factory settings, which eliminates the limitations of manual labor and provides significant productivity and quality benefits. The U.S. modular construction industry, despite having similar controlled factory environments, still heavily relies on manual labor. Thus, this study investigates the U.S., Canada, and Europe-based leading modular construction companies and research labs implementing industrial robotic arms for manufacturing automation. The investigation mainly considered the current research scope, industry state, and constraints, as well as identifying the types and specifications of the robotic arms in use. First, the study investigated well-recognized modular building associations, the Modular Building Institute (MBI), and renowned architecture design magazine, Dezeen to gather industry updates. The authors discovered one university lab and a few companies that adopted Switzerland-based robotic arms, ABB. Researching ABB robotics led to the discovery of ABB's competitor, Germany-based KUKA robotic arms. Consequently, research extended to the companies and labs adopting KUKA models. In total, this study has identified seven modular companies and four research labs. All companies employed robotic arms and gantry robot combinations in a production-line-like system for partial automation, and some adopted design standardization for optimization. The common goal among the labs was to achieve greater flexibility and full automation with robotic arms. This study will help companies better implement robotic arm automation by providing recommendations from investigating its current industry status.
Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the barrier-free environment at Fukui University's Bunkyo Campus, focusing on the mobility of students using manual wheelchairs. Methods: Data were collected on architectural plans, barrier-free facilities, and class schedules at Fukui University's Bunkyo Campus. Measurements included step heights, slopes, and the accessibility of classroom furniture for manual wheelchairs. Mobility was assessed by timing the movement between 19 classrooms used in the second semester of 2022 during breaks and summer vacation. Results: This study highlights that while Fukui University's Bunkyo Campus has some barrier-free buildings, significant improvements are needed. Issues include inadequate elevators, hand operated doors, and multi-purpose restrooms, as well as inefficient classroom's furniture layouts for wheelchair users. To enhance accessibility, future efforts should focus on reducing elevator wait times, automating doors, and optimizing classroom designs. Implications: The study indicates that Fukui University's Bunkyo Campus needs significant improvements in barrier-free accessibility. It provides foundational data for future detailed planning and implementation. Enhanced campus accessibility and better classroom designs are crucial for equal learning environments. Similar issues may exist at other Japanese universities, warranting broader investigation.
General methods of controlling a drone are divided into manual control and automatic control, which means a drone moves along the route. In case of manual control, a man should be able to figure out the location and status of a drone and have a controller to control it remotely. When people control a drone, they collect information about the location and position of a drone with the eyes and have its internal information such as the battery voltage and atmospheric pressure delivered through telemetry. They make a decision about the movement of a drone based on the gathered information and control it with a radio device. The automatic control method of a drone finding its route itself is not much different from manual control by man. The information about the position of a drone is collected with the gyro and accelerator sensor, and the internal information is delivered to the CPU digitally. The location information of a drone is collected with GPS, atmospheric pressure sensors, camera sensors, and ultrasound sensors. This paper presents an investigation into drone control by a remote computer. Instead of using the automatic control function of a drone, this approach involves a computer observing a drone, determining its movement based on the observation results, and controlling it with a radio device. The computer with a Depth camera collects information, makes a decision, and controls a drone in a similar way to human beings, which makes it applicable to various fields. Its usability is enhanced further since it can control common commercial drones instead of specially manufactured drones for swarm flight. It can also be used to prevent drones clashing each other, control access to a drone, and control drones with no permit.
Purpose - This paper aims to investigate the mediating effects of relationship fairness factors between franchisor's support services and performance(re-contract intention) in food service franchise. More specifically, fairness was measured into distributive, procedure, interaction, and information, franchisor's support service was divided into pre-start support services (initial support services) and post-start support services (continued support services), and performance (re-contract intent) was measured using 3 items such as re-contract, contract extension, and recommendation. Research design, data, and methodology - The population for the survey is the head of franchises in the metropolitan area (Seoul/Gyeonggi), which operates a restaurant franchise, and samples included a wide range of overseas/domestic brands and regions. The survey was conducted from August 1 to September 30, 2018 through the survey agency. The survey was conducted together with a telephone interview and a direct visit by the investigator. A total of 205 questionnaires were collected and retrieved, 4 questionaires containing missing information were excluded and 201 responses were used for analysis. Results - The results shows that franchisor's initial support services have significant positive effects on procedural, interpersonal, and informational relationship fairness, and continuous support services have significant positive effects on distributive, procedural, interpersonal, and informational relationship fairness. This study also shows that informational and procedural fairness have significant positive effects on performance(re-contract intention). Finally, continuous services a significant positive effect on performance(re-contract intention). Conclusions - The results show that franchisor make a manual, and should improve fairness through regular investigation whether support services was executed as promised in the manual after franchisee operation. In addition, information fairness and procedural fairness have been shown to increase performance(re-contract intention). These results mean that the franchisor's headquarters should provide product and service support for the merchant in accordance with the manual and management policy to reduce asymmetry in information and improve procedural fairness to enhance performance(re-contract intention).
