  • Inverse pinch 스위치는 기존 스위치와 달리 전극의 손상을 줄이기 위해 나선형 전극형태로 제작하였다. 이 스위치는 전기적 트리거 펄스전압을 인가하여 동작시키며, 본 연구의 실험결과 전극간에 발생되는 아크확산 및 전류이동 때문에 전극수명이 길고, 대전류에도 견디기 때문에 펄스파워 시스템에 사용할 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다.

  • Infrared signals are frequently used to detect objects exposed to wide variety of environmental conditions. Detection by infrared signature is accomplished by distinguishing objects by using the IR radiant contrast between objects and the background. There are several methods of estimating the IR radiant contrast. The inverse distance weighting method, which is one of the IR radiant contrast estimation method using the effect of distance from objects, is known to be an effective way to analyze radiant contrast for complex backgrounds. However this method has a disadvantage of requiring a long calculation time. In this study we propose a statistical method of estimating the IR radiant contrast by using randomly selected pixels of arbitrary number among background pixels to reduce calculation time. Some measured IR images in MWIR and LWIR regions are used to test the applicability of the method proposed and we found that the proposed method is very effective in determining the IR radiant contrast showing very rapid estimation with minar accuracy loss.

Finite Step Method for the Constrained Optimization Problem in Phase Contrast Microscopic Image Restoration

  • The aim of microscopic image restoration is to recover the image by applying the inverse process of degradation, and the results facilitate automated and improved analysis of the image. In this work, we consider the problem of image restoration as a minimization problem of convex cost function, which consists of a least-squares fitting term and regularization terms with non-negative constraints. The finite step method is proposed to solve this constrained convex optimization problem. We demonstrate the convergence of this method. Efficiency and restoration capability of the proposed method were tested and illustrated through numerical experiments.

  • We provide semilocal convergence theorems for Newton-like methods in Banach space using outer and generalized inverses. In contrast to earlier results we use hypotheses on the second instead of the first Frechet-derivative. This way our Newton-Kantorovich hypotheses differ from earlier ones. Our results can be used to solve undetermined systems, nonlinear least square problems and ill-posed nonlinear operator equations.

  • 본 연구는 역오팔 지지체를 이용하여 인간지방유래 줄기세포의 연골 분화를 촉진하는 내용을 담고 있다. 비 다공성 구조를 가진 지지체에서 세포를 분화 시도하였을 경우 분화가 잘 촉진되지 않는 것에 비해 200 nm 정도의 균일한 구멍을 가지는 poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide)로 구성된 역오팔 지지체는 그 다공성 구조로 인하여 지지체의 내부까지 산소와 유기물의 수송을 가능하게 하여 지지체 내에서 어떤 유전적, 약물적 처리 없이 인간지방유래 줄기세포가 분화가 잘 되게 하는 것을 확인하였다.

A Versatile Medical Image Enhancement Algorithm Based on Wavelet Transform

  • This paper proposed a versatile algorithm based on a dual-tree complex wavelet transform for intensifying the visual aspect of medical images. First, the decomposition of the input image into a high sub-band and low-sub-band image is done. Further, to improve the resolution of the resulting image, the high sub-band image is interpolated using Lanczos interpolation. Also, contrast enhancement is performed by singular value decomposition (SVD). Finally, the image reconstruction is achieved by using an inverse wavelet transform. Then, the Gaussian filter will improve the visual quality of the image. We have collected images from the hospital and the internet for quantitative and qualitative analysis. These images act as a reference image for comparing the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm with the existing state-of-the-art. We have divided the proposed algorithm into several stages: preprocessing, contrast enhancement, resolution enhancement, and visual quality enhancement. Both analyses show the proposed algorithm's effectiveness compared to existing methods.

반복적 비선형역산에 의한 2차원 지질구조의 중력자료 해석 연구 (A Study on Interpretation of Gravity Data on Two-Dimensional Geologic Structures by Iterative Nonlinear Inverse)

  • In this paper, the iterative least-squares inversion method is used to determine shapes and density contrasts of 2-D structures from the gravity data. The 2-D structures are represented by their cross-sections of N-sided polygons with density contrasts which are constant or varying with depth. Gravity data are calculated by theoretical formulas for the above structure models. The data are considered as observed ones and used for inversions. The inversions are performed by the following processes: I) polygon's vertices and density contrast are initially assumed, 2) gravity are calculated for the assumed model and error between the true (observed) and calculated gravity are determined, 3) new vertices and density contrast are determined from the error by using the damped least-squares inversion method, and 4) final model is determined when the error is very small. Results of this study show that the shape and density contrast of each model are accurately determined when the density contrast is constant or vertical density gradient is known. In case where the density gradient is unknown, the inversion gives incorrect results. But the shape and density gradient of the model are determined when the surface density contrast is known.

  • Levenberg-Marquardt (LMA)와 유전 알고리즘(GA)을 결합한 새로운 잡종알고리틈을 반복적으로 사용하여, 비용함수의 실 극소값(global minimum)을 주는 2차원 강산란체의 유전율 분포를 재구성한다. 비용함수에 사용되는 산란파는 원통형 각모드로 전개되며, 이 중 유효 전파모드만이 이용된다. 유효 전파모드만을 사용하여 비용함수를 정의함으로써 주어진 산란체를 재구성하는데 필요한 입사파 개수의 최소값이 공식화된다. 수치해석 결과로부터,LMA는 수렴 속도가 빠르나 강산란체를 재구성할 수 없고, GA는 강산란체의 재구성은 가능하나 수렴 속도가 느린 반면, 결합 알고리즘을 이용하는 역산란 방법은 LMA와 GA의 장점만을 취합한 방법임이 입증된다.

  • Spatial control of sound is essential to deliver better sound to the listener's position in space. As it can be experienced in many listening environments, the quality of sound can not be manifested over every position in a hall. This motivates us to control sound in a region we select. The primary focus of the developed method has to do with the brightness and contrast of acoustic image in space. In particular, the acoustic brightness control seeks a way to increase loudness of sound over a chosen area, and the contrast control aims to enhance loudness difference between two neighboring regions. This enables us to make two different kinds of zone - the zone of quiet and the zone of loud sound - at the same time. The other perspective of this study is on the direction of sound. It is shown that we can control the direction of perceived sound source by focusing acoustic energy in wavenumber domain. To begin with, the proposed approaches are formulated for pure-tone case. Then the control methods are extended to a more general case, where the excitation signal has broadband spectrum. In order to control the broadband signal in time domain, an inverse filter design problem is defined and solved in frequency domain. Numerical and experimental results obtained in various conditions certainly validate that the acoustic brightness, acoustic contrast, direction of wave front can be manipulated for some finite region in space and time.

두 개의 스튜어트 플랫폼을 이용한 병렬형 신 압연기의 조작성 해석 (Manipulability Analysis of a New Parallel Rolling Mill Based upon Two Stewart Platforms)

  • The manipulability analysis of the parallel-type rolling mill proposed in Hong et al. [1] is re-visited. The parallel rolling mill uses two Stewart platforms in opposite direction for the generation of 6 degree-of-freedom motions of each roll. The objective of this new parallel rolling mill is to permit an integrated control of the strip thickness, strip shape, pair crossing angle, uniform wear of rolls, and tension of the strip. New forward/inverse kinematics problems, in contrast with [1], are formulated. The forward kinematics problem is defined as the problem of finding the roll-gap and the pair-crossing angle of two work rolls for given lengths of twelve legs. On the other hand, the inverse kinematics problem is defined as the problem of finding the lengths of twelve legs when the roll-gap, the pair-crossing angle, and the position and orientation of one work roll are given. The method of manipulability analysis used in this paper follows the spirit of [1]. But, because the rolling force and moment exerted from both upper and lower rolls have been included in the manipulability analysis, more accurate results than the use of a single platform can be achieved. Two. kinematic parameters, the radius of the base and the angle between two neighboring joints, are optimally designed by maximizing the global manipulability measure in the entire workspace.
