  • The evaluation of radiation-induced DNA double strand breaks (DSB) was made following irradiation of human lymphocytes, murine lymphocytes and EL-4 leukemia cells over a wide dose range of $^{60}Co\;{gamma}-rays.$ In lipopolysaccharide (LPS) or phytohemagglutinin (PHA)-stimulated murine lymphocytes, the slopes of the stand scission factor (SSF) revealed that lymphocytes with LPS increased DNA DSB formation by a factor of 1.432 (p<0.005). Furthermore, strand break production was relatively inefficient in the T lymphocytes compared to the B lymuhocytes. And EL-4 leukemia cells were found to form significantly more DNA DSB to a greater extent than normal lymphocytes (p<0.005). The in vitro studies of the intrinsic radiosensitivity between human lymphocytes and murine lymphocytes showed similar phasic kinetics. However, murine lymphocytes were lower in DNA DSB formation and higher in the relative radiation dose of 10 percent DNA strand breaks at 3.5 hours following ${gamma}-irradiation$ than human lymphocytes. Though it is difficult to interpret these results, these differences may be result from environmental and genetic factors. From our data, if complementary explanations for this difference will be proposed, the differences in the dose-effect relationship for the induction of DSB between humans and mice must be related to interspecies variations in the physiological condition of the peripheral blood in vitro and not to differences in the intrinsic radiation sensitivity of the lymphocytes. These results can be estimated on the basis of dose-effect correlation enabling the interpretation of clinical response and the radiobiological parameters of cytometrical assessment.

  • The effects of extrusion on solubilization of brown rice, glutinuous rice, barley and job's tear were analyzed by response surface methodology (RSM). Solubilization of whole grains by extrusion was characterized in terms of water solubility index (WSI), concentration of water soluble polysaccharides (C) and intrinsic viscosity $([\eta])$. Considering both concentration and intrinsic viscosity, a dimensionless target parameter $([\eta])$ was also included for analysing the extrusion effects on cereal extrusion. Response surface methodology analysis showed that the moisture content was the most significant contributor among screw speed, temperature and moisture content affecting the solubilizing phenomena of cereals processed with extrusion. Brown rice was not showed the significant relationship on $([\eta])$ because $([\eta])$ was more affected by intrinsic viscosity. The critical point of whole grains extrusion except brown rice was corresponded to screw speed of 300 rpm, moisture content of 20% and temperature of $120^{\circ}C$.

  • The gate length-dependence of cutoff frequency is modeled by using scaling parameter equations of equivalent circuit parameters extracted from measured S-parameters of Nano-scale MOSFETs. It is observed that the modeled cutoff frequency initially increases with decreasing gate length and then the rate of increase becomes degraded at further scale-down. This is because the extrinsic charging time slightly decreases, although the intrinsic transit time greatly decreases with gate length reduction. The new gate length-dependent model will be very helpful to optimize RF performances of Nano-scale MOSFETs.

  • In this paper, we propose a rigid body tracking method in 3D space using 2D passive marker images from multiple motion capture cameras. First, a calibration process using a chess board is performed to obtain the internal variables of individual cameras, and in the second calibration process, the triangular structure with three markers is moved so that all cameras can observe it, and then the accumulated data for each frame is calculated. Correction and update of relative position information between cameras. After that, the three-dimensional coordinates of the three markers were restored through the process of converting the coordinate system of each camera into the 3D world coordinate system, the distance between each marker was calculated, and the difference with the actual distance was compared. As a result, an error within an average of 2mm was measured.

  • The sliding mode control (SMC) strategy is applied to a permanent magnet synchronous machine vector control system in this study to improve system robustness amid parameter changes and disturbances. In view of the intrinsic chattering of SMC, a current sliding mode control method with a load sliding mode observer is proposed. In this method, a current sliding mode control law based on variable exponent reaching law is deduced to overcome the disadvantage of the regular exponent reaching law being incapable of approaching the origin. A load torque-sliding mode observer with an adaptive switching gain is introduced to observe load disturbance and increase the minimum switching gain with the increase in the range of load disturbance, which intensifies system chattering. The load disturbance observed value is then applied to the output side of the current sliding mode controller as feed-forward compensation. Simulation and experimental results show that the designed method enhances system robustness amid load disturbance and effectively alleviates system chattering.

  • The objective of this study was to evaluate corrosion resistance of additive manufactured 316L stainless steel and alloy 625 powders widely used in corrosion resistance alloys of marine industry in comparison with cast alloys. Directed Energy Deposition (DED) method was used in this work for sample production. DED parameter adjustment was also studied for optimum manufacturing and for minimizing the influence of defects on corrosion property. Additive manufactured alloys showed lower corrosion resistance in seawater compared to cast alloys. The reason for the degradation of anti-corrosion property was speculated to be due to loss of microstructural integrity intrinsic to the additive manufacturing process. Application of heat treatment with various conditions after DED was attempted. The effect of heat treatments was analyzed with a microstructure study. It was found that 316L and alloy 625 produced by the DED process could recover their expected corrosion resistance when heat treated at 1200 ℃.

  • This paper presents deposition and characterizations of microcrystalline silicon$({\mu}c-Si:H)$ films prepared by hot wire chemical vapor deposition at substrate temperature below $300^{\circ}C$. The $SiH_{4}$ concentration$[F(SiH_{4})/F(SiH_{4})+F(H_{2})]$ is critical parameter for the formation of Si films with microcrystalline phase. At 6% of silane concentration, deposited intrinsic ${\mu}c-Si:H$ films shows sufficiently low dark conductivity and high photo sensitivity for solar cell applications. P-type ${\mu}c-Si:H$ films deposited by Hot-Wire CVD also shows good electrical properties by varying the rate of $B_{2}H_{6}$ to $SiH_{4}$ gas. The solar cells with structure of Al/nip ${\mu}c-Si:H$/TCO/glass was fabricated with single chamber Hot-Wire CVD. About 3% solar efficiency was obtained and applicability of HWCVD for thin film solar cells was proven in this research.

  • The feature-based visual SLAM requires 3D positions for the extracted feature points to perform 3D-2D motion estimation. LiDAR can provide reliable and accurate 3D position information with low computational burden, while stereo camera has the problem of the impossibility of stereo matching in simple texture image region, the inaccuracy in depth value due to error contained in intrinsic and extrinsic camera parameter, and the limited number of depth value restricted by permissible stereo disparity. However, the sparsity of LiDAR data may increase the inaccuracy of motion estimation and can even lead to the result of motion estimation failure. Therefore, in this paper, we propose three interpolation methods which can be applied to interpolate sparse LiDAR data. Simulation results obtained by applying these three methods to a visual odometry algorithm demonstrates that the selective bilinear interpolation shows better performance in the view point of computation speed and accuracy.

  • Microwave dielectric properties and far infrared reflectivity spectra of the (Zr0.8Sn0.2)TiO4 ceramics were inves-tigated with the various cooling rate. Dielectric constant was nearly same value while the unloaded Q value was largely affected by cooling rate. The Q.f of 42,140 at 7 GHz was obtained for the specimens with cooling rate of 1$^{\circ}C$/min. The effect of the cooling rate on the change of the ionic the electronic polarization and the intrinsic microwave loss of the specimens were investigated by the infrared reflectivity spectra from 50 to 4000cm-1 which were calculated by Kramers-Kroning analysis and the classical oscillator model. The relative tendency of microwave dielectric properties of the specimens calculated from the relfectivity data were in good agreement with the results by the post resonant method.
