  • Background: Data from BreastScreen Australia Screening and Assessment Services (SAS) for 2002-2010 were analysed to determine whether some SAS characteristics were more conducive that others to high screening performance, as indicated by high priority performance indicators and standards. Materials And Methods: Indicators investigated related to: numbers of benign open biopsies, screen-detected invasive cancers, and interval cancers, and wait times between screening and assessment. Multivariate Poisson regression was undertaken using as candidate predictors of performance, SAS size (screening volume), urban or rural location, year of screening, accreditation status, and percentages of clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, rural and remote areas, and socio-economically disadvantaged areas. Results: Performance standards for benign biopsies and invasive cancer detection were uniformly met irrespective of SAS location and size. The interval cancer standard was also met, except in 2003 when the 95% confidence interval of the rate still incorporated the national standard. Performance indicators improved over time for: benign open biopsy for second or subsequent screening rounds; rates of invasive breast cancer detection for second or subsequent screening rounds; and rates of small cancer detection. No differences were found over time in interval cancer rates. Interval cancer rates did not differ between non-metropolitan and metropolitan SAS, although state-wide SAS had lower rates. The standard for wait time between screening and assessment (being assessed ${\leq}28$ days) was mostly unmet and this applied in particular to SAS with high percentages of culturally and linguistically diverse women in their screening populations. Conclusions: Gains in performance were observed, and all performance standards were met irrespective of SAS characteristics, except wait times to assessment. Additional descriptive data should be collected on SAS characteristics, and their associations with favourable screening performance, as these may be important when deciding on SAS design

  • A 2-year-old, 12.5 kg, castrated male, mixed-breed dog was presented with a 1-year history of pruritus and progressive alopecia. On physical examination, no remarkable findings were detected including body condition score (5/9). A dermatological examination of the dog revealed generalized erythema, papules or plaques, especially on the face, auricle, dorsum, and shoulder. A fine-needle aspiration of the dorsum and face lesions revealed various numbers of macrophages with foamy cytoplasm and multinucleated giant cells. A bacterial culture test showed the growth of Staphylococcus pseudintermedius. A complete blood cell count was unremarkable and biochemical abnormalities included hyperglobulinemia (4.8 g/dL, reference interval 2.5-4.5 g/dL), mild hypertriglyceridemia (277 mg/dL, reference interval 10-100 mg/dL) and mild hypercholesterolemia (383 mg/dL, reference interval 110-320 mg/dL). Additional diagnostic tests were performed to identify the underlying cause of hyperlipidemia. Canine pancreatic lipase immunoreactivity (<50 ng/mL, reference interval 0-200 ng/mL) and total T4 (1.4 ㎍/dL, reference interval 1.1-5.6 ㎍/dL) were within the reference intervals. For a definitive diagnosis, skin biopsy specimen was collected from the papular lesions on the dorsum by using a 4 mm biopsy punch. A histopathological examination revealed numerous large macrophages with abundant foamy cytoplasm in the dermis. The foamy macrophages were located diffusely between the collagen fibers. Extracellular amorphous lipid deposits were also presented in the dermal tissue. A definitive diagnosis of cutaneous xanthoma was made based on clinical signs and cytological and histopathological results.

  • The two-factor nested variance component model with equal numbers in the cells are given by $y_{ijk}\;=\;{\mu}\;+\;A_i\;+\;B_{ij}\;+\;C_{ijk}$ and the confidence intervals for the ratio of variance components, ${\sigma}^{2}_{A}/{\sigma}^{2}_{B}$ are obtained in various forms by many authors. This article shows the probability ranges of these confidence intervals on ${\sigma}^{2}_{A}/{\sigma}^{2}_{B}$ proved by the mathematical computation.

  • The most fundamental examples of (combinatorial) geometries are projective geometries PG(n - 1,q) of dimension n - 1, representable over GF(q), where q is a prime power. Every upper interval of a projective geometry is a projective geometry. The Whitney numbers of the second kind are Gaussian coefficients. Every flat of a projective geometry is modular, so the projective geometry is supersolvable in the sense of Stanley [6].

  • Let T be Gauss transformation on the unit interval defined by T (x) = ${\frac{1}{x}}$ where {x} is the fractional part of x. Gauss transformation is closely related to the continued fraction expansions of real numbers. We show that almost every x is mod M normal number of Gauss transformation with respect to intervals whose endpoints are rational or quadratic irrational. Its connection to Central Limit Theorem is also shown.

  • A diverse of recommendation has been made for the structure and management of dairy cows, despite demanding research, the relationship between lactation number and various factors is yet to be established. The present study was aimed to investigate the covariance among lactation number, growth performance, calving interval, and milk production was considered to increase an efficiency of selection schemes and to manage more efficiently Holstein dairy cows that have been raised on small-scale family farms in Republic of Korea. For that purpose, the data were observed from 850 Holstein dairy cows, which a total of 3929 milking, since April 2016 - January 2017. We measured the body weight, height, age, calving interval, and milk production of the each dairy cow. Also, information about the date of lactation, calving interval, and milk production was recorded using an automatic milking system(AMS) with identification numbers. Milk production was calculated per udder quarter in the AMS. Our study results showed the increased average body weight(p>0.05) in 1, 2, 3, and $4^{th}$ lactating dairy cows and afterwards, we noticed the tendency on the average body weight(p<0.05) per lactation progressed. There was no significant difference noticed on height measurement of dairy cows. From the processing data of 850 Holstein dairy cows, the lactation number 1 and 7 had a greater calving interval with significantly lowered milk production, and the lactation number 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 had significantly lowered the calving interval(p<0.05) with a greater milk production. From our study results, we evidenced that there is a significant relationship between the lactation number, growth performance, calving interval, and milk yield, and the maximum production of milk occurring in the $3^{rd}$ and $4^{th}$ lactation dairy cows. The achieved results from this study can be used by the small-scale farmers to encourage the structure and management of growth performance, calving interval, and milk yield in Holstein dairy cows in Korea.

  • The developed security scheme for user authentication, which uses both a password and the various devices, is always open by malicious user. In order to solve that problem, a keystroke dynamics is introduced. A person's keystroke has a unique pattern. That allows the use of keystroke dynamics to authenticate users. However, it has a problem to authenticate users because it has an accuracy problem. And many people use passwords, for which most of them use a simple word such as "password" or numbers such as "1234." Despite people already perceive that a simple password is not secure enough, they still use simple password because it is easy to use and to remember. And they have to use a secure password that includes special characters such as "#!($^*$)^". In this paper, we propose the automatic fortified password generator system which uses special characters and keystroke feature. At first, the keystroke feature is measured while user key in the password. After that, the feature of user's keystroke is classified. We measure the longest or the shortest interval time as user's keystroke feature. As that result, it is possible to change a simple password to a secure one simply by adding a special character to it according to the classified feature. This system is effective even when the cyber attacker knows the password.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of Ga-As(Gallium-Arsenide, wave length; 904 nm) infrared laser irradiation on healing of the experimentally crush injured rat sciatic nerves. The bilateral sciatic nerves of 43 adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were compressed surgically with a straight hemostat (1 mm width). The right legs of all the rats were irradiated using a 27 mW Ga-As infrared laser (laser irradiated group). The radiation procedure was administered for 3 minutes every day for 1, 3, 5, and 7 weeks in each group. Left legs were not irradiated and served as the control group. The numbers of total myelinated axon and degenerated myelin in the sciatic nerves of bilateral legs were measured and analyzed with mage analysis system in order to make a morphological analysis of the effect of the Ga-As infrared laser on injured nerves. Total number of myelinated axons was increased with time interval, especially in the 1, 3. and 5 week of irradiated group. Conversely, the number of degenerated myelin was decreased with time interval, especially in the irradiated group. The effects in the irradiated group were more pronounced than those of the control group. In conclusion, the Ga-As infrared laser irradiation is a useful adjuvant therapy to the regeneration of the peripheral nerve injury.
