전단효과를 고려한 곡선보 요소 개발 (Development of Curved Beam Element with Shear Effect)

  • Two-noded curved beam elements, CMLC (field-consistent membrane and linear curvature) and IMLC(field-inconsistent membrane and linear curvature) are developed on the basis of Timoshenko's beam theory and curvilinear coordinate. The curved beam element is developed by the separation of the radial deflection into the bending deflection. In the CMLC element, field-consistent axial strain interpolation is adapted for removing the membrane locking. The CMLC element shows the rapid and stable convergence on the wide range of curved beam radius to thickness. The field-consistent axial strain and the separation of radial deformation produces the most efficient linear element possible.

Fast Coordinate Conversion Method for Real-time Weather Radar Data Processing

  • The coordinate system conversion of weather radar data is a basic and important process because it can be a factor to measure the accuracy of radar precipitation rate by comparison with the ground rain gauge. We proposed a real-time coordinate system conversion method that combines the advantages of the interpolation masks of SPRINT and REORDER to use tables of predetermined radar samples for each interpolated object coordinate and also distance weights for each precomputed sample. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves the computation speed more than 20~30 times compared with the conventional method and shows that the deterioration of image quality is hardly ignored.

Evaluation of T-stress for cracks in elastic sheets

  • The T-stress of cracks in elastic sheets is solved by using the fractal finite element method (FFEM). The FFEM, which had been developed to determine the stress intensity factors of cracks, is re-applied to evaluate the T-stress which is one of the important fracture parameters. The FFEM combines an exterior finite element model with a localized inner model near the crack tip. The mesh geometry of the latter is self-similar in radial layers around the tip. The higher order Williams series is used to condense the large numbers of nodal displacements at the inner model near the crack tip to a small set of unknown coefficients. Numerical examples revealed that the present approach is simple and accurate for calculating the T-stresses and the stress intensity factors. Some errors of the T-stress solutions shown in the previous literature are identified and the new solutions for the T-stress calculations are presented.

  • A mathematical model for the stress free surface profile in Over-Round and Round-Oval grove rolling, which can be used effectively in the calculation of pass area, is presented. The new model has generality, simplicity and accuracy for practical usage. The stress free surface profile of an outgoing stock can be modeled when the maximum spread of it known a priori. The equation for the stress free surface profile is formulated from the linear interpolation of the radius of curvature of an incoming stock and that of roll groove to the axis direction. In developing the analytical model, the effect of rolling temperature and friction between roll and work piece(stock) were not considered since the geometry of roll groove and the incoming work piece were assumed a dominant factor which decides the stress free surface profile of the outgoing stock. A simulation with the analytical model developed also has been carried out to demonstrate the stress free surface profile of the outgoing stock.

LSP를 이용한 성문 스펙트럼 기울기 추정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Estimation of Glottal Spectrum Slope Using the LSP (Line Spectrum Pairs))

  • The common form of pre-emphasis filter is $H(z)\;=\;1\;- az^{-1}$, where a typically lies between 0.9 and 1.0 in voiced signal. Also, this value reflects the degree of filter and equals R(1)/R(0) in Auto-correlation method. This paper proposes a new flattening algorithm to compensate the weaked high frequency components that occur by vocal cord characteristic. We used interval information of LSP to estimate formant frequency. After obtaining the value of slope and inverse slope using linear interpolation among formant frequency, flattening process is followed. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm flattened the weaked high frequency components effectively. That is, we could improve the flattened characteristics by using interval information of LSP as flattening factor at the process that compensates weaked high frequency components.

  • 본 논문은 EBME(Extended Bilateral Motion Estimation)알고리듬에서 가중치수를 개선시켜 알고리듬을 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리듬은 EBME(Extended Bilateral Motion Estimation) MCI(Motion Compensated Interpolation)에서 고정된 확장블록을 대신하여 확장블록이 주변근처를 이동하면서 SOAD(Sum of Overlapped area Absolute Difference)를 통하여 향상된 가중치수를 찾는 알고리듬이다. 이 논문은 EBME알고리듬에 비해 PSNR(Peak Signal to Noise Ratio)이 향상된 성능을 보였다.

  • A technique for fast image reduction or expansion, in which the reduction(expansion) factor is either any integer or any rational number M/L Is represented. The multiresolution is modeled as an interpolation and filtering followed by a decimation. The model enables frequency domain analysts of the muitiresolution representations as well as convenient design of the Kernels(filters). Using any rin linear phase(Type I) filters a fine to coarse multiresolution structure can be generated.

  • To present graph of probability densities, many softwares and graphical tools use methods that link points or straight lines. However, the methods can't display exactly and smoothly the graph and are not efficient from the viewpoint of process time. One method to overcome these shortcomings is utilizing interpolation methods. In these methods, selecting the number and location of knots is an important factor. This article proposes an algorithm to select knots for graphically presenting densities and implements graph components based on the algorithm.

  • In this paper, a geometrically nonlinear meshfree analysis of 3D various forms of shell structures using the double director shell theory with finite rotations is proposed. This theory is introduced in the present method to remove the shear correction factor and to improve the accuracy of transverse shear stresses with the consideration of rotational degrees of freedom.The present meshfree method is based on the radial point interpolation method (RPIM) which is employed for the construction of shape functions for a set of nodes distributed in a problem domain. Discrete system of geometrically nonlinear equilibrium equations solved with the Newton-Raphson method is obtained by incorporating these interpolations into the weak form. The accuracy of the proposed method is examined by comparing the present results with the accurate ones available in the literature and good agreements are found.

시계열 강수량 공간화를 위한 SCEM-UA 기반의 PRISM 매개변수 최적화 (Optimization of PRISM parameters using the SCEM-UA algorithm for gridded daily time series precipitation)

  • 상세한 수문기상자료 구축은 수자원 활용 계획을 수립하고 대응하는 데 있어 필수적인 요소로 인식되고 있다. 기후, 수문, 지리 및 환경 등의 다양한 영역에서 신뢰할 수 있는 공간적 강우량의 요구가 증가하고 있다. 지형의 약 70%가 산악 지형인 우리나라의 경우 기존의 면적가중 및 수치내삽 방법은 고도가 높은 지역의 기상인자를 추정하는 데 한계가 있는 것으로 평가 되고 있다. PRISM 기법은 일반적인 공간보간 방법에 부족한 지형적 특성을 반영한 격자형태의 기상인자를 생산할 수 있는 유용한 모형으로서 본 연구에서는 SCEM-UA 기법을 기반으로 일단위 시계열에서의 PRISM 모형을 최적화 수행하였으며, 그 결과 최소영향반경은 9.10 km, 최대는 34.99 km로 산정되었으며, 해양가중치에서 고도기준은 681.03 m, 최소 및 최대거리는 각각 9.85 km, 38.05 km가 추정되었다. 거리가중치계수는 약 0.87로 산정되어 PRISM 모의 결과가 거리에 매우 민감하다는 것을 확인하였다. 또한, 다양한 통계적 검정을 통해 생산된 강수 시계열이 관측시계열과 비교하여 유사한 특성을 갖는 것을 확인하였다.
