With the emergence of partnerships with private actors in public and cultural diplomacies, complexity in the relations among the various stakeholders involved has arisen, and yet the relevant research is insufficient to shed any beneficial light on such issues. By looking at public-private partnerships, the present study determined that resource dependence, trust, and risk are the main factors affecting the feasibility of partnerships, and inductively developed propositions on their effects. In an explorative case study, Germany (decentralized mode of governance) and South Korea (centralized mode of governance) were compared as exemplary contrasting system designs. The results revealed that risk and trust are likely to affect the feasibility of partnerships, whereas resource dependence is not. The following additional findings also were made: (1) there are cultural actors in a 'for profit, but with non-profit purposes' sector; (2) an interpersonal level of trust positively affects partnerships; (3) 'taking risks' brings about 'innovation'; (4) the existence of international commonalities between any two cases depending on the actors' shared role, whether public or private; (5) public actors' emphasis on mutual trust, program budget and execution, innovations coming from taking risks, commitment and ownership, and unexpected situations; (6) private actors' consideration of 'publicness' and grant-seeking or financial support as important incentives, and their desire that public actors to show more trust, professionalism, and ownership with less control over budget execution. With its qualitative approach and in-depth analysis, the present study yielded new insights, notwithstanding the relatively small sample data.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to conduct a survey on the senses of employment so that it could provide a basic reference required for good human resources specializing in oral health with responsibility as professional. Methods : To meet these goals, a self-administrated questionnaire survey was conducted to dental hygiene college students in Gwang-ju. Results : 1. It was found that 30.7% respondents wanted to be employed as government officials of oral health. Most respondents 37.4% answered that faithfulness is the highest value as prerequisite for employment in hospital. 2. It was found that interpersonal relationships among employees had most significant effects 4.58 score on selection of employment, which was followed by in-house welfare benefit (hospital size, rest room, ect; 4.31). 3. The survey on respondents' occupational sense was represented by hospital/clinic management and dental management support 25.2%, oral health education 22.7%, oral disease prevention 19.7% respectively. Conclusion : For future social awareness about dental hygienists as occupation, desirable training courses as a part of qualification for professional dental hygienists were represented by case management (services, manners, ect; 25.0%), implant (22.8%), esthetics 14.7% and so on. As for working years, it was noted that 13.2% respondents would keep working as dental hygienists as long as they could.
Objectives : The aim of the study is to investigate anxiety, fatigue and stress of dental hygiene students in clinical practice and to improve the psychological support program. Methods : A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 428 dental hygiene students in 4 universities in Gwagju and Jeonnam. Data were analyzed for anxiety, stress and fatigue, general characteristics using SPSS 18.0 program for descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and correlation. Results : Saliva suction showed the most high score in treatment($mean{\pm}SD=2.92{\pm}1.13$) and was followed by children dental care($2.79{\pm}1.21$), preventive dental care($2.38{\pm}1.04$), maxillofacial radiology($2.35{\pm}1.15$). During the clinical practice, students felt uneasy when they stayed in relative home(p<0.05). Poor interpersonal relation(p<0.001), poor health condition(p<0.01), low satisfaction with major(p<0.01), the other cause of major choice(p<0.01) influenced on their stress. Satisfaction with major was closely related to clinical practice performance, anxiety, physical fatigue and mental fatigue. Conclusions : In order to reduce physical, mental, neuro sensory fatigue of students in clinical practice, it is recommended to reinforce the patient care etiquettes in curricula.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors influencing health promoting lifestyle in high school students. Method: The study subjects were 477 high school students. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation and Stepwise Multiple Regression with SPSS statistical program. Results: The average item score for health promoting lifestyle was 2.44. The highest subscale score was self actualization (2.85), while the lowest subscale scores were interpersonal relationship (2.82), nutrition (2.57), exercise (2.56) and health responsibility (1.77). There was a significant difference between gender, sleeping hours, perceived health state, economic state, school performance, father's education, mother's education, living together and health promoting lifestyle. The most powerful predictor of health promoting lifestyle was self-efficacy (29.9%). The combination of self-efficacy, family function, activity-related effect, commitment to a plan of action, situational influences and social support accounted for 55% of the variance in the health promoting lifestyle. Conclusion: Self-efficacy was the most powerful variance of health promoting lifestyle. Therefore, health promoting programs that increase self-efficacy should be developed to promote a healthier lifestyle among high school students.
The Food-Service industry, especially the family restaurant so called 'people industry' have a high dependence on human resources. In spite of this importance of human resources, most family restaurant are facing lots of problems such as short of capital, weak financial support, not efficient interpersonal communication and so on. Under this circumstance like that in family restaurant, in which there is a higher importance of human resources to other industries as they are all front-line employers in response to customer demands, the studies on possible factors that affect the employees to be satisfied are highly required. This study was conducted to find out what possible factors affect the employees to be more satisfied, how they affect the employees and what relationship exists between the employee's job satisfaction. This study was intended to develop the most efficient people management in family restaurant. The study was followed up with factor analysis and correspondent analysis as well as regression analysis in order to find out the difference among the individual characteristic variables and to verify the hypotheses.
The purpose of this study was to explore how the number of network organizations, network continuity and service continuity of community child centers were affected by the charge factors, organizational factors and environmental factors of community child centers. To better understand this, we researched 107 community child centers in Chonbuk Province. The key results are as follows. The interpersonal connections of the charge factors had a strong effect on the number of network organizations, but organizational factors and environmental factors appeared to have no effect on the number of network organizations. The operational type(religious group), organizational support level of the organizational factors and public-private cooperation, regular consultative group operation(no) of the environmental factors appeared to have an effect on the level of network continuity. The region(local), regular consultative group operation(yes) and public-private cooperation of the environmental factors appeared to have an effect on the level of service continuity. It was hoped that the results would enable us to explore how factors related to a network had an effect on the service continuity, the number of network organizations and clients referral network continuity, and they appeared to have an effect on the service continuity.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify health promoting behavior and life satisfaction in rural elderly people. Method: The data were collected from October 1st 2002 to October 31th, 2003. The participants were 142 elderly people living in Hong Cheon, Korea. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using the SPSS program. Result: The average score for the health promoting behavior was 2.64 (${\pm}0.34$), with a minimum of 1.48 and maximum of 3.80. The average scores for each subscale were, nutrition, 2.98, interpersonal support, 2.78, health responsibility, 2.67, self-actualization, 2.66, stress management, 2.58, and exercise, 1.93. Signifiant differences in health promoting behavior were found according to the following general characteristics: education level, religion, senior citizens center usage and allowance. The average score for life satisfaction was 2.68 (${\pm}0.42$), with a minimum of 1.38 and a maximum of 3.85. Senior citizens center usage was the only general characteristics that showed a significant difference for life satisfaction. There was a significant positive correlation between health promoting behavior and life satisfaction (r= 0.5783, p=0.001). Self-actualization and stress management had statistically significant casual effects on life satisfaction ($R^2$=0.3961). Conclusion: Effective methods to enhance life satisfaction of rural elderly should emphasize self-actualization and stress management.
The present study dealt with the emotional characteristics, emotional development of gifted children and emphasized the emotional intelligence as the meta-ability for the development of creativity and intellectual abilities. The emotional vulnerability of gifted children was also hscussed with endogenous and exogeneous problems, internal dyssynchrony, and social context. To find out the real chief problems the gifted children have, the contents of individual counselling with mothers of the gifted in KAGE were categorized based on the Lazarus' BASIC ID and DSM-IV dagnosis. Total 128 cases were analyzed. Among them, 61 cases were from elementary schoolers, however, percentile data showed the most, 34% of infant class aged 30 months - 48 months. Usually, the number of counselling in each person was 1, but 17 cases were done more than 3 times. And, 8 cases had experiences to visit the other counseling center or neuropsychiatric clinic. The categories of chief problems were 10: information about gifted program, behavior, affect, sensation, school and cognitive functions, imagery and self concept, interpersonal relationship, personality, mental illness, and others. Many problems in each category were listed. Finally, the present study suggested the several guidance plan possibly useful in the gifted education center for the purpose of prevention of emotional difficulties and support for the mental health, including professional personnel, child counselling, emotional education, and parent counseling & education.

Purpose: To identify factors that affect the job stress of visiting nurses at health centers in Seoul, Korea, who perform home care services. Methods: Data were collected in the period from November 20 to December 10, 2008, from 206 visiting nurses working at 25 health centers in Seoul metropolitan city. Self-report questionnaires of the Organization-Based Self-Esteem (OBSE) and the Korean Occupational Stress Scale (KOSS) were used. Data were analyzed by the SPSS win 15.0. Results: Several findings were obtained from the study. First, the mean of job stress was 52.4 points, which was higher than that of Korean women. Second, it was shown that by the sub-domain of job stress, the mean value belonged to the top 50% in the four sub-domains of physical environment, job demand, interpersonal conflict, and organizational system. Additionally, it belonged to the top 25% in the sub-domain of job insecurity, wherein the job stress was the highest. Third, the self-esteem of the nurses had the most significant effect on their job stress. Conclusion: Stress related to job insecurity was the highest among the visiting nurses at health centers in Seoul who perform the custom home care service thus, institutional support is urgently needed to alleviate such stress and secure their employment.
The purpose of this study is to clarify the perception and educational needs of international college students regarding the culture of college life. A questionnaire was given to international college students who are studying at universities in Korea. The results showed that international college students need to study about the culture of college life and had a perception that it is desirable to learn this through general education classes or freshman subjects after entering university. Also, the culture of college life can be divided into nine categories: bachelor's system; career and employment; university support centers and systems; interpersonal relations; departmental events; housing and living expenses; freshmen's events; exchange activities and programs; and cultural experience activities. International college students showed higher learning needs in order of career and employment; cultural experience activity; and bachelor's system. In addition, the characteristics of the learners showed different educational needs according to year of study and Korean language proficiency. The significance of this study is to specify the items of the culture of college life required for international college students, to measure the validity and reliability of these items, and to categorize the elements of the culture of college life.
