  • High Level Architecture(HLA) for modeling and simulation is an international technical standard to achieve simulation interoperability and reusability. Building federation through the interworking of federates is being used in various fields and is being used in KR(Key Resolve), UFG(Ulchi-Freedom Guardian) as a representative in domestic military. Currently, United States Department of Defense emphasizes the HLA compliance test, which confirms the compliance of Federate by using HLA. However, due to the limitations of testing tools, an HLA compliance test of DoD is not able to perform some of the functional tests on HLA/RTI services such as federation storage/recovery services and also exclude inspection of exchange data between federates. To solve these problems, this paper proposes an HLA compliance testing system of ROK suitable for domestic situations. This will enable effective HLA compliance testing and improve interoperability between federates.

  • Personal Robot System in developing, have a module architecture, each module are connected through heterogeneors network systems like Ethernet, WLAN (802.11), IEEE1394 (Firewire), Bluetooth, USB, CAN, or RS-232C. In developing personal robot system we think that the key of robot performance is interoperability among modules. Each network protocol are well connected in the view of network system for the interoperability. So we make a bridging architecture that can routing, converting, transporting data packets with matcing each network's properties. Furthermore we suggest a advanced design scheme for realtime / non-realtime and control signal (short, requiring hard-realtime) / multimedia data (large, requiring soft-realtime). By some application systems, we could test performance, interoperability and stability. In this paper, we show our design concept, middleware architecture, and some applications systems using this middleware.

  • Recently, because of the extensive use of geographic information in the various fields, the requirement for the easy circulation and utilization of the various geographic information among the individuals, organizations, societies and countries is raised. In order to support the interoperability of the heterogeneous geographic information in the various fields, OGC(Open GIS Consortium) proposed the GML(Geography Markup Language) specification that defines the XML encoding rule about the heterogeneous geographic information. In addition, ISO/TC 211 adopted the GML specification to make it as the international standard. Therefore, in this paper, we first analyzed the GML 3.0 specification in detail that can support the interoperability of the heterogeneous geographic information. And then we suggested and applied the mapping rule that define the encoding method to improve the encoding process easily and efficiently. Finally, we designed and implemented the GML 3.0 encoding system using the mapping rule to encode the geographic information that was constructed in spatial databases into the GML 3.0 document. Especially, we used ZEUS as a spatial database system to test our encoding system in this paper.

  • A concern about the ebXML concentrated, the necessity for Validation request among the ebXML sollutions has become both at home and abroad. There aren't any test implement for Validation of BPSS. The ebXML BPSS system establishment related to ebMS Standard Conformance and Interoperability is required. In this paper, We'll suggest system model to estimate Conformance of document in accordance with case items to frame the ebXML BPSS Validation items.

  • In this research, a new methodology to perform building energy analysis using Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) standard has been studied. With the help of Archicad 14 modeling software, a 3D test model is generated and then exported to IFCXML format. A ruby code program retrieves the building information from the resulting IFCXML file using Nokogiri library. An INP file is created and gets ready for next energy analysis step. DOE 2.2 program analyzes the INP file and gives a detailed report of the energy cost of the building. Case study shows when using the IFC standard method, the Interoperability of the energy analysis is greatly improved. The main stream 3D building modeling software supports IFC standard. DOE 2.2 is able to read the INP file generated by IFC file. This means almost any 3D model created by main stream modeling software can be analyze in terms of energy cost Thus, IFC based energy analysis method has a promising future. With the development and application of IFC standard, designers can do more complex and easy-to-run energy analysis in a more efficient way.

  • TTCN-3(Testing & Test Control Notation Version 3) is the international standard testing language defined by ETSI in 2001. TTCN-3 is generally used for protocol conformance test, but it is also possible to be applied to the platform and API tests based on CORBA. Moreover, it can be also applied to the various testings such as interworking testing, repetition testing, platform testing, etc. IEC 61850 is the protocol proposed for SAS(Substation Automation System) of SCADA(Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system. In this paper, a IEC 61850 interoperability Tester based TTCN-3 is developed under the Window environment. IEC 61850 Server Simulator of Linux operating system is used as SUT(System Under Test). Conformance testing items in this paper are the Positive test case_Srv5 of "Server, Logical device, Logical node, and data model" in the testing group of "IEC 61850 - Part10" document.

  • The substation is a critical node in the power network where power is transformed in the power generation, transmission and distribution system. The IEC 61850 is a global standard which proposes efficient substation automation by defining interoperable communication and data modelling techniques. In order to achieve this level of interoperability and automation, the IEC 61850 (Part 6) defines System Configuration description Language (SCL). The SCL is an XML based file format for defining the abstract model of primary and secondary substation equipment, communications systems and also the relationship between them. It enables the interoperable exchange of data during substation engineering by standardizing the description of applications at different stages of the engineering process. To achieve the seamless interoperability, multi-vendor devices are required to adhere completely to the IEC 61850. This paper proposes an efficient algorithm required for verifying the interoperability of multi-vendor devices by checking the adherence of the SCL file to specifications of the standard. Our proposed SCL validation algorithm consists of schema validation and other functionalities including information model validation using UML data model, the Vendor Defined Extension model validation, the User Defined Rule validation and the IED Engineering Table (IET) consistency validation. It also integrates the standard UCAIUG (Utility Communication Architecture International Users Group) Procedure validation for quality assurance testing. Our proposed algorithm is not only flexible and efficient in terms of ensuring interoperable functionality of tested devices, it is also convenient for use by system integrators and test engineers.
