  • The purposes of this study were 1) to divide consumers into segments according to their consumption attitude and subjective knowledge about natural dyed products 2) to develop a profile for each segment with respect to the media types, the preferred media programs, the information sources, the lifestyle activities and the demographics. Data(n = 213) was collected using questionnaires via the internet. By cluster analysis of the consumers' attitude and their subjective knowledge about natural dyed products, four groups were identified 1) the loyal consumption group (20.1%), 2) the conditional/reluctant consumption group(36.6%), 3) the negative/reluctant consumption group(24.2%) and 4) the non purchasers(19.1%). Several characteristics of these four groups were then compared by ANOVA and chi-square statistics. The results indicated that the consumption attitude and subjective knowledge could be the criteria for segmenting the consumers and that the segmented groups had unique consumer characteristics. Implications of this study were discussed.

  • In recent years, IPTV attracts great attention along with the digital convergence of communication and media technologies. IPTV combines the advantages of TV and Internet and changes our lifestyle dramatically. In addition, the IPTV service is capable of becoming a new business model which has huge growth potentials in technology-converging marketplaces. This study examines critical factors on the consumer's adoption of the IPTV service. Based on the Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT), IPTV specific attributes and personal characteristics, we derive eight key factors in the research model. compatibility, ease of use, image, diversity of contents, interactivity, monetary value, social influence, and user satisfaction. Using the partial least square (PLS) method on the data collected through a web-based survey, we test our research model with several hypotheses. From this study, we find that diversity of contents, compatibility and interactivity have a significant indirect effect on the use of IPTV service via user satisfaction, and user satisfaction and social influence also have a significant direct impact on the IPTV use. These findings not only provide practical insights on the consumer acceptance of new technology-converging services, but also help managers to plan their marketing strategies better.

  • This study was performed to identify the roles of residents for the environmentally sound and sustainable development, taco-polis(kologisches Bauen), eco-village and Symbiotic Housing. These buildings will achieve energy efficiency through design strategies such as passive solar heating system, natural cooling and day lighting. Their infrastructure will feature parking on the periphery, extensive pedestrian paths, outdoor ground lights that preserve stellar visibility, and environmentally sensitive technologies such as low writer use fixtures. And they will restore biodiversity while protecting the wildlife, wetlands, forests, soil, air and water. Their houses wile be designed to support home-based occupations, offering high-speed Internet access and other options to promote a localized, sustainable economy. To support and encourage the evolution of sustainable settlements, it is necessary to prepare constructing the physical facilities and the social functions relating with residents. The roles of residents are important to provide a high Quality lifestyle and to integrate a supportive social environment with a low-impact way of life. This study concluded the four main roles of residents for the sustainable of Eco-polis and Ecovillage. 1. Residents assist transition towards a sustainable society as eco-conscious consumers in the planning stage. 2. Residents live in a ecological way for the sustainable ecovillage. 3. • Modernized GNSS such as new GPS signals updated GLONASS and coming Galileo promises higher quality and higher reliability for users. Powerful technologies such as Internet, ubiquitous network technology and sensor network has been used to promote a safe and more secure lifestyle. This report describes experimental trials to combine these technologies namely GPS and Sensor Network into a high-performance system. GPS is used to enlarge the communication range, resolving the service area limitations, as a wider service area is required at shore areas compared to urban area. GPS position datum is also used as primary network routing information to get practical Sensor Network. Another application is the under water Sensor Network. Accurate GPS position and time are used to establish stable and high reliability underwater acoustic Sensor Network. This paper describes the background of the project 'Harbor area Marine Ubiquitous Sensor Network', preliminary consideration and testing. Radio and acoustic communication is the main focus of this preliminary experiment.

  • This paper investigates the lifestyles in Korean market. We will classify the groups using cluster analysis, and exploit the characteristics of innovators. These groups can be verified by multiple comparisons. This research is accomplished by sample survey between June 92003 and June 27 2003. Korean market for innovation can be classified into four groups such as innovators, early adopters, late majority, and laggards, which are similar to Rodger's classification. The ratios of four groups are 11%, 24.4%, 48.9%, 15.7% respectively. innovators, and late majority are heavy groups in that early adopter group is omitted on the contrary. Whereas innovators have a tendency to adopt the innovation quickly, rest groups have resistance for innovations and adopt slowly. The brief demographic characteristics of innovators are that the ratio of students is 44.44%, the ratio of single is 69.44%, the age between 15 and 25 is 56.95%, and the salary is relatively low compared with other cluster. The summary of lifestyle of innovators is that they are active, want to do worldwide business, want to have good relationship with high society, want to know the information of innovations, etc.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to analyze physical symptom-related and life-style factors affecting suicidal ideation of senior grade students in elementary school. Methods: Physical symptom-related and life-style factors were used to investigate suicidal ideation among 663 elementary school students. From February 11 to 15, 2018, data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using the $x^2$ test, Pearson correlation analysis, and logistic regression analysis in SPSS for Windows version 22.0. Results: The factors affecting suicidal ideation were gender, family structure, economic status, academic performance, exposure to school violence during the past year, physical symptoms, drinking experience, smoking experience, sleeping time, and ramen noodle consumption. The regression analysis showed that exposure to school violence during the past year (odds ratio [OR]: 102.99, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 51.19~207.19, p=.001), number of physical symptoms (OR: 1.25, 95% CI: 1.12~1.41, p=.001), drinking experience (OR: 3.17, 95% CI: 1.66~6.06, p=.001), and game and internet usage time (OR: 2.08, 95% CI: 1.08~4.01, p=.029) affected suicidal ideation. Conclusion: This study revealed that physical symptoms and life-style significantly influenced suicidal ideation. Therefore, interventions to reduce suicidal ideation in children must focus on improving children's physical symptoms and life-style.
