  • The purpose of this research is to identify what factors influence a customer's purchasing intention and to identify if customer's attitudes are different between an Internet shopping mall in Singapore and Korea. To perform a cross-nation analysis between Singapore and Korea, this research reapplied the finding of Liao and Cheung(2001) in a Singapore Internet shopping mall, including transactions security, Internet usage, price, shopping experience, vendor quality, network speed. The empirical results of this research indicate that all hypotheses in our model are significant; therefore, Internet usage, price, vendor quality and network speed influence customer's purchasing intention positively and transactions security and shopping experience negatively. The results of a cross-nation analysis indicate that customer's attitudes in both Singapore and Korea are the same. Therefore, Asia's with similar cultures are the same factors In Internet shopping mall. In Conclusion, with the rapid growth of the Internet market in Asia, many cross-nations researches based on Asia culture must be published. • The purpose of this study is 1) to investigate the effects of Internet apparel store attributes, shopping values, Internet usage, and consumers' characteristics on consumers' Internet apparel purchasing behavior; and 2) to identify the influence of Internet apparel store attributes, Internet usage, and consumers' characteristics on the Internet apparel purchasing behavior of hedonic or utilitarian consumers. The data were collected via an online survey. A total of 4,254 Internet users participated in this survey. Only 589 out of the users' reponses were used as a sample for this research, because those users had previously experienced Internet apparel purchasing. Factor analysis revealed five dimensions of Internet apparel store attributes: site design/navigation, promotion programs, trust, product assortment/ information, and customer service. Based on the respondents' shopping value scores, we identified them as hedonic or utilitarian consumers. Through multiple regression analyses, site design/navigation and promotion programs among store attribute variables, hedonistic or utilitarian shopping values, the number of years on the Internet, income, and educational level were found to be significant predictors of Internet apparel shopping frequency. Among them, hedonistic shopping values were the best predictor of Internet apparel purchasing frequency. Based on the Internet apparel purchasers' shopping value, purchasers were divided into two groups. For hedonic Internet apparel shoppers, the number of years on the Internet, educational level, sex, age, and income were significant predictors of Internet apparel shopping behavior. On the other hand, promotion programs among store attribute variables was the only significant factor that affects utilitarian consumers' Internet apparel shopping behavior.

  • This study aims to find the factors of Internet overdependence in adults, through the decision tree analysis model, which is a data mining method using National Information Society Agency's raw data from the survey on Internet overdependence in 2016. As a result of the decision tree analysis, a total 16 nodes of Internet overdependence risk groups were identified. The main predicated variables were the amount of time spent per smart media usage in weekdays; amount of time spent per smart media usage in weekends; experiences of purchasing cash items; percentage of using smart media for leisure; negative personality; percentage of using smart media for information search and utilization; and awareness on good functions of the Internet, all of which in order had greater impact on the risk groups. Users in the highest risk node spent the smart media for more than 5 minutes per use and less than 5~10 minutes in weekdays, had experiences of cash item purchase, and had lower level of awareness on the good functions of the Internet. The analysis led to the following recommendations: First, even a short-time use has higher chances of causing Internet overdependence, and therefore, guidelines need to be developed based on research on the usage behavior rather than the usage time. Second, self-regulation is required because factors that affect overindulgence in games, such as the cash items, increase Internet overdependence. Third, using the Internet for leisure causes higher risk of overdependence and therefore, other means of leisure should be recommended.

  • Domestic competition of Internet shopping malls is becoming more intense everyday. Users prefer an convenient and reliable shopping mall. Thus the design of Internet shopping malls with a strengthened convenience in usage will not only increase the desire of users to purchase, but will also encourage the users to revisit to the website, and it will increase the competitive power of the shopping mall. In this paper, I examined the interface design which users can use conveniently to purchase products, and proposed a design for an Internet shopping mall in which product information is conveniently provided to the user and the convenience in usage for guiding product selection and purchase is strengthened. The results of this study show that the navigation designs which allowed users to conveniently find products on Internet shopping malls included a roll-over menu in which a subdirectory was presented with a large area. If the navigation that guides products to users were designed more conveniently, users would be able to find and purchase products more easily. Since a web interface design with strengthened convenience in usage helps users to satisfactorily select and purchase products on an Internet shopping mall, it would increase the reliability of the shopping mall.

  • The purpose of this paper is to better understand the socio-economic differentials of Internet access and use. Data from '2008 Korean Internet usage behavior' were used to conduct logistic regression analysis. The findings show that there are significant socio-economic(age, gender, educational attainment, employment situation, and Internet access type) disparity in Internet access(Internet access at home, broadband Internet access). Also socio-economic variables enter in as statistically significant in most specifications for Internet use intensity (Intensive internet use, frequent internet use, less frequent internet use). The gender, household income and education attainment explanations for large differential in Internet use intensity are generally very similar. It is shown that age, education attainment and household income level cause a large digital divide on Internet service use(information use, communication and community use, e-commerce use, Internet banking use).

  • This study is an attempt to establish a model and identify the relationship between the individual characteristics of college students, Internet usage characteristics, exposure to pornography, and anti-social sexual perception. The subjects of the study were 360 college students aged 18 or older in B city, and the collected data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 22.0 programs. The goodness-of-fit index of the modified model met the acceptance criteria (𝛘2/df=2.786, GFI=.95, AGFI=.92, SRMR=.06, RMSEA=.07, NFI=.89, CFI=.93, TLI=.90). According to the results of path analysis, the variables that directly affect anti-social sexual perceptions of college students were personal characteristics and exposure to pornography, and the variable with indirect effect was the Internet usage characteristics. The biggest direct effect on anti-social sexual perception was exposure to pornography, and it was confirmed that exposure to pornography was directly affected by personal characteristics and Internet usage characteristics. Therefore, in order to reduce anti-social sexual perceptions among college students, measures should be taken to control personal characteristics and Internet usage characteristics that directly affect the level of exposure to pornography.
