  • The research in the literature review on Internet of Things (IoT) adoption from an individual consumer viewpoint is minimal and has not yet been fully investigated. Therefore, the objectives of this study are to analyze the growth of IoT in recent years and to conduct a weight analysis of the factors that affect acceptance intentions and real usage of IoT-enabled services. For the review, we analyzed 87 publications from 13 conferences and 54 journals published during the period 2014-2020 about consumer adoption of IoT. Following the study, we discovered an unprecedented increase in the number of articles published in the last seven years, which points to an emerging area with an enormous prospect. Furthermore, the weight analysis outcome was associated with the diagrammatic representation in this study. After that, this research developed a generalized consumer IoT adoption model based on the 12 best predictors derived from frequency count and weight analysis, which had the highest predictive power for calculating IoT adoption. This paper further acknowledges the study's theoretical and practical contributions, as well as its shortcomings, and proposes further research directions for future researchers.

  • In information systems, "trust" and "risk" have been explored by a few trust-related research studies before, but as two separate issues. The way in which these studies have been designed, however, does not help clarify the relationship between trust and risk since they are studied as unconnected determinants of trusting behavior in electronic commerce. As such, this research attempts to examine and specify the relationships among the core constructs surrounding the issue of trust such as risk and trusting behavior. The context of Internet banking adoption is used to develop a conceptual model that incorporates the direct effects of trust and perceived risk on trusting behavior as well as the mediation of the relationship between trust and trusting behavior by perceived risk. The findings show that perceived risk mediates the relationship between trust and trusting behavior. Specifically, trust in the Internet as a banking medium significantly influences the adoption of Internet banking both directly and indirectly through perceived risk of Internet banking. Trust that the bank will not take advantage of consumers significantly influences the trusting behavior through perceived risk of Internet banking. This study, thus, extends research on trust in e-commerce by simultaneously examining the influence of trust and perceived risk on e-commerce adoption.

  • Banking industries have continuously innovated through technology-enhanced products and services. Many studies have recognized the importance of the Internet in banking industries, arguing that it has been widely adopted. Many studies published on the Internet banking in specific countries are mostly related with such issues as internet banking adoption and acceptance, security and risks of online banking system, and interface design. Several studies have been done to examine the differences and similarities between other banking channels and the Internet banking. However, to the best of our knowledge, only a limited number of studies has examined the differences and similarities between two specific countries in order to create a new customer satisfaction model. In this research, we studied the internet banking satisfaction model by comparing two countries: South Korea and Indonesia. We conducted an empirical study based on the data collected in both two countries. In this research, we found that countries which have adopted electric banking services, particularly between a country with high ICT adoption and a country with low ICT adoption, show different satisfaction trends. Based on the study results, herein we provide discussion, managerial, and practical implications.

  • This study examines the key factors which influence the strategic consideration and intention of adoption of internet marketing of small-and-medium sized companies, based on theoretical consideration of innovation diffusion theory and previous studies related. The result of analysis shows that the degree of market competitiveness, customer dependency, the level of internet marketing knowledge and experience have significant effects on both of strategic consideration and adoption intention for internet marketing. Also, learning commitment has negative influence on strategic consideration only, while environmental dynamism does on adoption intention. Comprehensively, the findings implies that firms consider selection of internet marketing to reduce the severity of competitiveness and that firms which has more knowledge or experience about internet marketing seems to consider selection of internet marketing through the perception of the effects of internet marketing or possible access to internet marketing. Based on the findings that the level of internet marketing knowledge and experience have much significant effects on both of strategic consideration.

  • A Social Networking Service (SNS) platform provides digital footprints to discover users' interests and track the social diffusion of product adoptions. How to identify a small set of seed users in a SNS who is potential to adopt a new promoting product with high probability, is a key question in social networks. Existing works approached this as a social influence maximization problem. However, these approaches relied heavily on text information for topic modeling and neglected the impact of seed users' relation in the model. To this end, in this paper, we first develop a general product adoption function integrating both users' interest and social influence, where the user interest model relies on historical user behavior and the seed users' evaluations without any text information. Accordingly, we formulate a product adoption maximization problem and prove NP-hardness of this problem. We then design an efficient algorithm to solve this problem. We further devise a method to automatically learn the parameter in the proposed adoption function from users' past behaviors. Finally, experimental results show the soundness of our proposed adoption decision function and the effectiveness of the proposed seed selection method for product adoption maximization.

  • The healthcare industry continues to adopt and integrate smart technology in its operations, from medical devices to managing operations. However, the adoption curve has not been smooth, and the historical record of technology adoption in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reveals the existence of both known and unknown issues. This review paper is aimed to explain the influences and barriers present in the Saudi healthcare sector affecting IoT technology adoption. A comprehensive discussion of the literature illustrated that Vision 2030, the privatisation trend, transformation in disease patterns and ageing, issues in management and increasing public awareness are the key drivers that may influence the need for the medical Internet of Things (mIoT) in Saudi healthcare. However, based on the past trend, the introduction and adoption of mIoT will likely experience issues such as noncompliance from doctors and nurses due to negative beliefs, lack of knowledge and inadequate perception of effort requirements. Thus, in-depth research of the factors associated with mIoT technology adoption is suggested for a smooth transition.

  • Nowadays learning has developed to a new way of anywhere and anytime by using mobile devices called m-learning which can provide flexibility, independency and creativity in academic environment. Most studies about m-learning are for higher education and the most users of m-learning are higher education students. Although developed countries are using m-learning in educational sectors, most of the Middle East countries are far from m-learning, and facing number of challenges. In Iran m-learning is still in early stage of implementation in higher education and in terms of technical and infrastructural aspects there is a vast gap in compare with developed countries. Although technical and infrastructural difficulties are one of the significant aspects in implementation and integration of m-learning technologies in education, the technology will not be successful if could not adopt with users. Due to the importance of user adoption with m-learning, there are limited studies about m-learning adoption in higher education of Iran. This paper attempts to review on technical and infrastructural aspects that facilitate m-learning which have effect on adoption of Iran higher education system. The review of the trend in the literature provides a reference for higher education institutes for decision making in developing m-learning for their students.

  • The purpose of this study is to enhance the understanding of consumer experience and behavior of Internet of Things (IoT) services and to provide practical implications through investigating the impact of benefits-cost factors and network externalities on consumers' adoption intention of IoT services. An online survey was conducted on general consumers in their 20s to 60s who were aware of the IoT services and 328 data were collected. Using SPSS 24.0, frequency analysis, correlation analysis, factor analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis were conducted. As a result, the level of consumers' IoT service experience in various contexts was examined, and entertainment, informativeness, loss of humanity, compatibility, and complementarity were found to have a significant effect on consumers' adoption intention of IoT services. This study suggests that strengthening network externality effects by increasing compatibility and complementarity is important in promoting consumers' adoption of IoT services. In future studies, it is necessary to adopt specific Internet of Things services to verify the validity of the models developed in this study.
