Scan-to-BIM 관련기술 특허동향 분석연구 (Analysis Study on Patent for Scan-to-BIM Related Technology)

  • 기계, 디자인, 중공업 분야에서 많이 사용되어오던 역설계 기법이 최근 건설 산업분야에 BIM(Building Information Modeling) 기반 역설계 기법인 Scan-to-BIM 기술로 적극적으로 도입되기 시작하였으며, 그동안 비효율적인 부분들을 개선하기 위한 알고리즘, 시스템, 장비 등의 개발이 이루어지면서 기술의 확장성이 더욱 커지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 객관적인 자료에 근거한 특허 분석을 통하여 한국, 미국, 유럽, 일본의 Scan-to-BIM 관련 기술 동향을 파악하여 한국 Scan-to-BIM 기술의 올바른 방향을 모색하고자 한다. 건설 산업기술 특허분석관련 선행 연구 분석, Scan-to-BIM 기술에 대한 이론적 고찰과 관련 선행연구 고찰, WIPSON 특허검색시스템을 사용한 한국, 미국, 유럽, 일본 네 국가의 관련 기술에 대한 공개된 특허 문헌을 검색하여 정보를 수집, 검증과정 및 유효 특허 추출이 이루어졌으며, 도출된 유효 특허 데이터를 이용하여 특허출원 연도별 동향, 국가별 동향, 그리고 국제특허분류(IPC: International Patent Classification) 코드를 통한 기술별 동향, 상위 20위 주요출원인 및 출원 주체 종류, 패밀리 특허 동향 등을 분석하였다.

특허정보 분석을 통한 국제공동연구 성과의 품질 평가 (An Evaluation for quality of performance of international R&D cooperation by analyzing patent information)

  • 글로벌 경쟁의 가속화와 연구개발 투자의 위험성 증가에 따라 글로벌 개방형혁신에 대한 필요성이 제기되고 있는 가운데, 국제공동연구의 성과라고 할 수 있는 공동 출원 특허에 대한 품질평가를 통해 국제공동연구가 과연 효과적인지를 실증 분석하였다. 최근 들어 국제공동연구에 의한 공동출원 특허의 양은 더욱 가파르게 증가하고 있다. 1990년부터 2010년까지 21년간의 미국특허정보를 분석한 결과, 국제공동연구(international cooperative R&D)는 국내공동연구(domestic cooperative R&D)에 비해 피인용 수, 특허 패밀리 수, 청구항 수 등의 품질지표에서 모두 우수하다는 분석결과를 보여주었다. 국제공동연구에 의해 공동출원된 특허 가운데 가장 높은 품질을 보이는 산업은 IT산업으로 분석되었으며, 바이오산업, 자동차산업 등, 첨단산업 분야에서의 성과가 상대적으로 우수하다는 결과가 도출되었다. 미국특허 데이터베이스를 토대로 국제공동연구의 네트워크 분석을 수행한 결과 매개 중심성이 가장 높은 국가는 미국으로 나타났고, 독일, 영국, 캐나다, 프랑스가 그 뒤를 이었다.

Arbitrability of Patent Disputes in Korea: Focusing on Comparisons with U.S. legislation and case

  • General lawsuits can be chosen as a method of resolving patent disputes. However, a significant amount of time and money is wasted on litigation until the dispute is resolved. The Intellectual Property Framework Act in Korea requires the government to simplify litigation procedures and improve litigation systems to resolve intellectual property disputes quickly and fairly. As a result, accurate and timely resolution of patent disputes is given importance by the Korean government. Interest in arbitration as an alternative method of dispute resolution is growing. Although dispute resolution through arbitration is effective, the issue of resolving patent disputes through arbitration can lead to the arbitrability of patent disputes. It is therefore necessary to examine arbitrability of patent contracts and validity disputes. Korea has made efforts to reflect the model arbitration law of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law for quick judicial resolution of patent disputes. Korea has also strengthened related systems for alternative resolutions. However, improving the arbitration system will necessitate a thorough examination of the systems and practices of the United States which is the country in the forefront of intellectual property. This paper examines the arbitrability of Korea's patent dispute and makes recommendations for more efficient dispute resolution system changes.

체질진단 및 치료기기 최신 특허동향 분석 (Analysing of the recent trends on the constitution diagnosis and treatment device patents)

  • In this paper, We tried to analyze the patent trend on constitution diagnosis and treatment related technologies. For this, constitution diagnosis and treatment related technologies divided into 16 sub-technology by the advisory committee. And we analyzed patents applied in Korea, Japan, U.S.A., China, and Europe. The 16 sub-technology consist of pulse analyzer, skin diagnosis, tongue analyzer, face and body detector, face analyzer, voice analyzer, intelligence ontology, meridian diagnosis, infrared thermography, electric stimulation, laser, high and low frequency, physical, magnetic, and ultrasound therapy. As a result we found that patents of constitution diagnosis and treatment in Korea has been growing steadily in both quality and quantity since 1980s. The number of patent the pulse analyzer and low frequency therapy are larger than others. But applied relevant international patents, marketability of the patent and Cites per Patent (CPP) index are shown to be very low. In conclusion, to occupy key original technologies of the Oriental medical device, we need to apply more patent of the whole related technology and international patents.

Customizing an English-Korean Machine Translation System for Patent Translation

  • This paper addresses a method for customizing an English-to-Korean machine translation system from general domain to patent domain. The customizing method consists of following steps: 1) linguistically studying about characteristics of patent documents, 2) extracting unknown words from large patent documents and constructing large bilingual terminology, 3) extracting and constructing the patent-specific translation patterns 4) customizing the translation engine modules of the existing general MT system according to linguistic study about characteristics of patent documents, and 5) evaluating the accuracy of translation modules and the translation quality. This research was performed under the auspices of the MIC (Ministry of Information and Communication) of Korean government during 2005-2006. The translation accuracy of the customized English-Korean patent translation system is 82.43% on the average in 5 patent fields (machinery, electronics, chemistry, medicine and computer) according to the evaluation of 7 professional human translators. In 2006, the patent MT system started an on-line patent MT service in IPAC (International Patent Assistance Center) under MOCIE (Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy) in Korea. In 2007, KIPO (Korean Intellectual Property Office) tries to launch an English-Korean patent MT service.

대전 .충청지역 특허기술기반 벤처산업의 육성방안 (Policy on Promoting Venture Business based on Patent and Technology in Metro Taejon and Chungcheong Area)

  • If we want to overcome the current IMF-guarded economic situations as early as possible and to change the present industry structure to the new knowledge-based structure, it is a great necessity to increase the capability of technology innovation as a key factor of the international competitiveness, and to establish the infrastructure of venture business for increasing utilization of technologly and patent. Even though there has been a great increase in application and enrollment of the Industrial Property Rights (i.e. IPRs) including patent recently, the number of unused IPRs are increasing progressively every year (for example, the ratio of unused patent is about 60% in 1997), and illegal use of patent and dependance on the foreign patent are increasing sharply. This paper will suggest policy on nurturing venture business for increasing utilization of the unused IPRs, including technology transaction strategy and link strategy of the high-tech industries between metro Taejon and Chungcheong Area.

Click Profile형태, 결합강도와 국제특허를 중심으로 분석한 클릭형 강화마루의 특성 (Characteristics of Click Laminate Flooring Base on Click Profile Shape, Locking Strength and International Patent)

  • The objective of this work was to research click profile of laminate flooring by comparison of click and bonding laminate floorings, especially base on the click profile shape, bonding strength and international patents. Non-glue locking system has been used since laminate flooring was developed. For the reason of environment and saving installation time, the manufacturer in Europe and USA has developed click profile for laminate flooring. Each manufacturer has patent on each click profile. Although each click profile has good lock strength as shape, Berryand Unilin company's click profile systems showed higher locking strength than others. Korean laminate flooring company pay the fee of patent for using European and American manufacturer's click profile. From this work, we grope Korean style laminate flooring and click profile through research on the click profile shape, bonding strength and patents of European and American manufacturers.

해외 특허출원이 한국 제조업 기업 수출과 매출에 미치는 영향 실증분석 (Patenting abroad and its effects on exports and sales in Korean Manufacturing firms)

  • With the advent of a recent knowledge-based society, interest in patents is steadily increasing. The patent is an important indicator that can capture the level of R&D investment and technology development. In an era of deepening new protectionism and the pandemic of COVID-19, patents play an important role in sustainable economic development and establishing a strong domestic industrial ecosystem. In this paper, we analyze the impact of patent applications on the corporate performance of the Korean manufacturing industry over the past 21 years from 1999 to 2019. We divide patents into overseas patents and domestic patents and analyze the respective effects on the entire manufacturing industry, ICT industries, and non-ICT industries. Major findings are summarized as follows. First, patents have a positive effect on both exports and sales of Korean manufacturing companies. Second, overseas patents have a greater impact on corporate performance than domestic patents. Third, Patents have a more positive effect on ICT industries than on non-ICT industries.

세계 특허를 이용한 고피인용 특허의 국내외 동향 분석 (Domestic and international trend analysis of highly cited patents based on DWPI (Derwent World Patent Index))

  • DWPI(Derwent World Patent Index) 데이터베이스를 이용하여 2002년부터 2006년까지 고피인용 특허 동향을 IPC(International patent Classification) 및 산업분류에 의해 분석하였다. 2002년부터 2006년까지 전세계 특허 중에서 상위 1%를 차지하는 고피인용 특허의 출원인 국적별 분포에서 미국 출원인이 전체 8,416건의 특허 중에서 5,634건(66.9%)으로 나타났으며, 일본(885건, 10.5%), 독일 (521건, 6.2%), 타이완(222건, 2.6%) 등으로 나타났다. 한국 출원인의 경우 151건(1.8%)의 고피인용 특허를 보유하고 있어 6위로 분석되었다. 특허청에서 분류한 산업 분류에 의해 고피인용 특허 분포를 분석한 결과 전세계 업종별 특허에서 제조업 분야의 특허가 7,962건(점유율 81.7%)으로 가장 많았고 폐기물처리업의 경우 578건(점유율 5.9%)으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 분석한 기술 분야별 고피인용 특허는 세계적으로 가장 영향력 있는 특허 동향을 파악할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
