This paper intended to find rational alternatives for contracting-out of duties of the Busan port Pier Management Corporation, which is facing the merger and abolition, and of which main functions include the management of port facilities such as International Passenger Terminal, Cruise Terminal and Coast Passenger Terminal. This paper searched appropriate term, needs (merits), proper scope and cost of the contracting-out of that port facilities. The result of the analysis indicated that the best policy is to privatize the Busan port Pier Management Corporation itself to make it an private incorporated company.

In general, an airport access system has influenced on airport terminal operation. The congestion and delay in service facilities at an airport are definitely depended on the patterns of passenger arrival behavior and time spent in a terminal. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the passenger arrival behavior at an airport to improve the operations at passenger terminal. Passenger arrival patterns to an airport are mainly depended on factors such as the length of access time. reliability of access time. and provision of transport modes, etc. The focus of this paper is to estimate the relationship between the length of access time and passenger's total time spent to board aeroplane. For this, passenger surveys were conducted at the Gimpo International Airport for a large airport and Sacheon Airport for a small size airport. The mathematical relationship between arrival time at an airport prior to the scheduled time of departure(STD) and access time spent was then estimated. It is considered that the results of this study can be used to reduce congestion and delays, thereby to improve the efficiency of the passenger services at the airports.

Incheon International Airport (IIA) is trying to boost itself up for the Hub airport with a proactive marketing and large scale of airport expansion plan. Even the transfer rate of IIA for now is not high enough for a Hub airport, it is expected to keep increase for the future due to an effort to be the Hub. This study is to be made for setting the standards of airport planning as to the transfer rate based on the research of operational characteristics of Hub airport.

Along with changes in the industrial structure, revitalizing decrepit or abandoned industrial-age infrastructures are actively under way on a global scale. This study was motivated by an interest in investigating currently idle industrial infrastructures and revitalizing the abandoned passenger ferry terminal in Geoje's Jangseungpo and surrounding areas. The main aims of this study were to examine regional features for the purpose of establishing urban renewal plans and field opinions of the local residents on how to proceed with the restoration of the passenger ferry terminal. To this end, this paper looked into previous case studies of converting decrepit industrial infrastructures into new cultural venues, depending on each region's special circumstances. This paper's findings are as follows: First, as a result of this investigation, the author found that in all cases in Korea and elsewhere revitalization focused on creating modern cultural spaces appropriate for the region while retaining its traditional value. At the same time, they sought sustainable cultural and economic revival. Second, as a result of the investigation on Geoje City's local characteristics, the author found that the surrounding areas' commercial districts were depressed after the terminal's closure. At the time of the investigation, the city government was trying to reopen the terminal as a major port offering multiple international ferry destinations while attracting tourists. Third, as a result of the surveys on the local residents, it was found that more than half of the residents were in agreement with the city government's plan to reopen the terminal and expressed their wishes that they want the terminal to have other uses such as cultural venues. Based on these research results, the author makes proposals, including expanding the passenger ferry terminal and offering cultural spaces within and near the terminal, based on the local residents' opinions and in reflection of local circumstances. As part of this effort, the author also recommends a new brand name and design plan for the new passenger ferry terminal so that Geoje City can improve its local community value.

Recently, harmonic problem affect a great effect on power system. Especially, Incheon International Airport is a very important place in view of safety and reliability of power. In this paper we measure the harmonics at incheon international airport, especially passenger terminal. With the results we analysis the results and propose the guideline of harmonic reduction method. To do this we compare various kinds of specification for harmonic restrictions.

CUPPS is the latest international standard passenger processing system which is operated with airlines' check-in system, DCS (Departure Control System) in order to provide check-in and boarding services to passengers. The CUPPS standard has been revised in August 2009 leading by IATA (International Air Transport Association) who recommends replacing old legacy common use system with CUPPS to airports and airlines around the world. IATA is expecting to reduce the installation and maintenance cost of CUPPS by standardizing various legacy common use systems and device controls. Airlines are also expecting to take advantage of the system to reduce the application development cost as developing only one standard CUPPS application instead of developing multiple applications for nonstandard legacy systems. This research which focuses on development completed AIRCUS, R&D project of ministry of land, transport and maritime affairs accomplished by IIA, will present the result of pilot trial and the effective approach methods to increase the possibility of expanding overseas business by comparing old legacy system with CUPPS to prove the dominance of CUPPS over the legacy systems as well as doing foreign case studies.

Advanced countries in the aviation industry, especially the United States and European Union, develop and commercialize their own SBD system integrated with IT convergence technology, dominating the international market. Nevertheless, most of SBD technologies in domestic airports rely on other countries. It is imperative that internal airport operators introduce the Self Bag Drop system and produce, apply, and manage the most optimized SBD system for airports and airlines. Upon analyzing the tendency and operation of the SBD system utilized in leading international airports, this is conducted to address the possibility of the future implementation in domestic airports.

Modern countries have almost ratified the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities and are creating environments to prevent discrimination against these individuals. In 1996, the International Maritime Organization presented a recommendation for the design and operation of passenger ships to respond to elderly and disabled persons' needs. In Korea, an act on the promotion of transportation convenience for mobility disadvantaged persons has been implemented, and facilities for the disabled have been rapidly installed in ships, vehicles, aircraft, railways and passenger terminals. However, the maritime transport environment is less concerned about disabled persons than safety. In this study, basic research was conducted to improve the maritime transport environment for disabled people in Korea through a field survey and literature survey. As a result, it was found that relevant laws and regulations have not been properly applied to excursion ships and ferries as well as small-scale ports, which are responsible for a large part of coastal passenger transportation. In addition to low installation rates of facilities for the transportation of persons with disabilities in ships and terminals, loose equipment was also considered. Therefore, it is necessary to protect the human rights of persons with disabilities, which are universal values of humanity, by complementing laws and introducing improved facilities.

Purpose: The study aimed to analyze the occurrence and transfer status of emergency patients at Incheon International Airport in Korea. Methods: This study design included 810 patients for eight years, from July 1, 2014 to June 31, 2022. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS statistics version 25.0. Results: For the demographics, 531 (65.6%) were males, 151 (19.5%) were in the highest age group (in their 50s), and 289 (35.9%) were foreigners. The most common place of occurrence was in protected areas in the passenger terminal, with 341 (42.1%) of cases occurring here. The time of arrival at the site (z=-3.444, p=.001), stay duration at the site (z=-8.145, p=. 001), and transfer time (z=-3.623, p=.000) were all significantly longer. Conclusion: It is necessary to consider a rapid emergency transportation plan, such as developing a system that simplifies immigration procedures when emergency patients move from protected areas to general areas. Moreover, in order to quickly respond to foreign emergency patients, detailed characteristics will need to be identified. Lastly, considering the long transfer time, an instructing doctor should accompany an ambulance and actively perform advanced resuscitation.
