This study aims to discuss the basic foundations to set levels and language skills for developing a Korean Proficiency Test for young and adolescent learners. Recently, there has been an increase in demand regarding young and adolescent learners from multicultural and overseas backgrounds. However, the current Korean Proficiency Test lacks the appropriate means to determine the Korean proficiency of young and adolescent learners with general purposes of language learning. Therefore, there is an urgent need for developing a specialized and new form of language assessment for young and adolescent learners who are exposed to a foreign language or a second language learning environment. The study examines and analyzes cases of foreign language examinations for young & adolescent learners; furthermore, the objectives and target were set based on the results of a needs analysis and in-depth interviews conducted among teachers and education officials in overseas Korean Hangeul Schools, international schools, elementary and secondary schools. Finally, the levels and language skills appropriate for the objectives of a proficiency test and target learners have been suggested.

The main purpose of the article is to study the peculiarities of the work of the Ukrainian language in the upper grades of the lyceum based on the activity approach. Despite the fact that a number of scientific studies and applied developments on teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language have recently appeared in Ukrainian linguistics, significant problems in this area should be recognized (organization of the educational process when learning a language as a foreign language, general methodological principles, psycho- and sociolinguistic foundations, communicative approaches), the non-resolution of which leads to methodologically unreasonable teaching of the Ukrainian language as a foreign language, the use of methods of teaching the language as a native language or the study of the language as a subject (linguistic aspect). In addition, due attention is not paid to the development of communication skills, which, firstly, worsens the quality of teaching and learning. Based on the results of the analysis, the key aspects of the work on the Ukrainian language in the senior classes of the lyceum were analyzed on the basis of an activity approach.

이 연구는 국내에 거주하는 유학생들의 한국어 수준이 안전의식에 미치는 영향 간에 인과관계를 밝히는 데 그 목적이 있다. 한국어 표현과 이해능력이 안전의식에 미치는 영향에 대해서 분석할 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국어 표현능력은 생활안전의식에 정(+)의 영향을 미치나 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났으며, 이해능력은 생활안전의식에 부(-)의 영향을 미치나 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 한국어 표현능력은 소방안전의식에 유의미한 영향을 미치고, 정(+)의 영향 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 한국어 표현능력은 재난안전의식에 유의미한 영향을 미치고, 정(+)의 영향 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 유학생들이 한국에 체류하여 생활하면서 한국 생활에 맞는 안전의식을 준수하도록 강화할 필요가 있으며, 한국어 교육 시 생활 한국어뿐만 아니라 안전과 관련된 주제로 한 한국어 이해 교육도 반드시 강화되어야 할 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the perception and educational needs of international college students regarding the culture of college life. A questionnaire was given to international college students who are studying at universities in Korea. The results showed that international college students need to study about the culture of college life and had a perception that it is desirable to learn this through general education classes or freshman subjects after entering university. Also, the culture of college life can be divided into nine categories: bachelor's system; career and employment; university support centers and systems; interpersonal relations; departmental events; housing and living expenses; freshmen's events; exchange activities and programs; and cultural experience activities. International college students showed higher learning needs in order of career and employment; cultural experience activity; and bachelor's system. In addition, the characteristics of the learners showed different educational needs according to year of study and Korean language proficiency. The significance of this study is to specify the items of the culture of college life required for international college students, to measure the validity and reliability of these items, and to categorize the elements of the culture of college life.

The article is devoted to the consideration of the methodological and general theoretical foundations of a rational methodology for teaching foreign language communicative competence of students of a non-linguistic university. The analysis of the vectors of research of problems of increasing the efficiency of the process of mastering foreign language communicative competence of non-linguistic students is presented. As a methodological basis for a rational methodology for teaching a foreign language communicative competence, the key aspects of the philosophy of rationality are considered, the basic principles of a rational methodology are formulated, linguo-didactic means of its implementation are determined, indicators of rationality are identified.

This study aims at reviewing differences of awareness toward speech-language therapy according to background variables of child-care teachers, and establishing a basic data necessary for special education support programs afterwards based on child-care centers and its characteristics with the results. Researcher carried out a survey by objecting child-care teachers of Chungcheongbuk-do, Korea, and looked into existence of some differences through SPSS 20.0 for Window, independent sample t-Test, ANOVA, Scheffe post verification on background characteristics such as level of education, working career, license grade, whether or not to have objects of speech-language objects in the class. Research results are same as follows. First, significant differences in awareness of child-care teachers toward speech-language therapy appeared from license grade among characteristics like level of education, license grade, whether or not to have objects of speech-language therapy in the class. Second, significant differences were displayed from whether or not to have objects of speech-language therapy in the class among characteristics such as level of education, working career, license grade, and whether or not to have objects of speech-language therapy. When putting these results together, a conclusion could be made such like awareness of child-care teachers toward speech-language therapy and therapists is able to be different a little according to background variables of teachers.

This study is designed to determine how to identify misleading news articles based on natural language processing on Artificial Intelligence & Bigdata. A misleading news discrimination system and method on natural language processing is initiated according to an embodiment of this study. The natural language processing-based misleading news identification system, which monitors the misleading vocabulary database, Internet news articles, collects misleading news articles, extracts them from the titles of the collected misleading news articles, and stores them in the misleading vocabulary database. Therefore, the use of the misleading news article identification system and methods in this study does not take much time to judge because only relatively short news titles are morphed analyzed, and the use of a misleading vocabulary database provides an effect on identifying misleading articles that attract readers with exaggerated or suggestive phrases. For the aim of our study, we propose news article identification methods in natural language processing on Artificial Intelligence & Bigdata.

David Salle, born in Norman, Oklahoma in 1952, is the most important and controversial artist of the new-expressionist painting in the United States. His paintings are featured by unique artistic language, and extremely diverse and very ground-breaking expression, which reflect the American society at that time. Besides, he often uses complex image combination with striking colors and forms to attract and touch viewers. In this paper, based on the American new-expressionism, the painting language of David Salle's works was analysed, in which I found that it can be more intuitively and more profoundly feel the development of new-expressionist painting context and David Salle's particularity, and more clearly realize under what the characteristics of the era David Salle created the unique artistic language. The study on David Salle's unique painting language is of important research value and reference significance for our current artistic creation.

Background and Objectives: Sine a self-reported questionnaire for hearing-impaired listeners is not available by Malay language yet, it is important to develop or translate any available existing questionnaires. The aim of this study was to translate, adapt and validate the Hearing Handicap Inventory for Adult (HHIA) to be used by the audiologist among the hearing-impaired population in Malaysia. Subjects and Methods: The HHIAs was translated to Malay language using forward-backward translation techniques by four-panellists (two for each level). The translated HHIA was then reconciled and harmonized for cultural aspects and content of the questionnaire by the researchers and two expert panels before being pilot-tested among 10 hearing-impaired patients. Questionnaire validation was conducted among 80 adults with a hearing loss to calculate for Cronbach's α (internal reliability), Spearman's correlation (inter-item correlation) and factor analysis. Results: None of the translated items were removed from the scale. The overall Cronbach's α was 0.964; 0.927 and 0.934 for both social and emotional subscales, respectively. The factor analysis (force-concept inventory) demonstrated a two-structure with a strong correlation between all items in either component 1 or 2, that resembled the original scale. The Mann-Whitney test revealed significantly higher scores for those adults with a hearing loss than those adults with normal hearing. Conclusions: The Malay HHIA has been successfully translated and validated for the purpose of determining the psychosocial aspects of adults with hearing loss in the local population.
