In the present study, the piezoelectricity and polarization of multilayer ceramic actuator, being designed to stack PMN-PZ-PT ceramic layers and Ag-Pd electrode layers alternatively, were investigated under a consideration of geometric factor, the volume ratio of the ceramic to the electrode layers. The actuators were fabricated by tape casting of $0.2Pb(Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3)O_3-0.38PbZrO_3-0,42PbTiO_3$ followed by lamination and burnout & co-firing processes. The actuators of $10\times10\times0.6~2\textrm{mm}^3$ in size were formed in a way that $60 ~ 200\mu\textrm{m}$ thick were stacked alternatively with $5\mu\textrm{m}$ thick electrode layer. Increases in polarization and electric field-induced displacement with thickness of the ceramic layer were attributed to change of $90^{\circ}$/$180^{\circ}$ domain ratio, which was affected by interlayer internal stress. The piezoelectricity and actuation behaviors were found to depend upon the volume ratio (or thickness ratio) of ceramic to electrode layers.
The Electrical Charge generated by friction in flowing insulating oil can create hazadous accidents. Neutralization of static charges in the oil during transportation is an obvious method of overcoming the problem of internal electric charge. It is known that SCR(Static Charge Reducer) can neutralize much of this charge by the needle electrode and mixing it with the original charge. In our experiment, a filter to generate static charge was set just befor a measurement pipe, and streaming current from the filter to the earth $I_s$, current from the electrode to the earth $I_e$ and current from the receiving tank to the earth $I_f$ were measured in a steady state. As a result, charge density and needle electrode current increases with increasing of oil temperature. Charge elimination rate decreases with increasing of oil flow rate, and increases with increases of oil temperature. Faraday Cage current decreases with increasing of oil temperature.

Since the ZnO varistor is a semiconductor device, the internal thermal distribution during the varistor operation is recognized as an important factor in the performance and deterioration of the varistor. For an optimal varistor structure design, the thermal runaway phenomenon during the varistor operation was interpreted using the Comsol 5.2 analysis program by a finite element analysis. The maximum temperature of the center measured in the cross section of the ZnO varistor was confirmed to increase as the temperature moved from the lower electrode to the center towards the upper electrode up to 572.6 K. The electrodes are thinned so that the influence of the Schottky barrier is not great. The heat gradient balance is determined to be improved when the electrode of the hybrid form is introduced. The thickness, density, pore distribution, impurity uniformity, and particle size of the ZnO varistor are required, and it is determined that the pyrolysis gradient will be improved regardless of the electrode thickness. When these results are applied to design the ZnO varistor, the optimal structure of the ZnO varistor can be obtained.
Active area of dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) has an effect on the efficiency of DSSC. As the active area increases, the efficiency goes down in a general way. This is caused by the increase of internal resistance in DSSC. The internal resistances are related to various resistant elements. The charge transfer processes at Pt counter electrode and the sheet resistance of TCO are two of these resistant elements. In this study, we try to divide the active area into several small sections in a large sized cell to reduce these two internal resistant elements. As a result, we find out that the fill factor is increased and then the conversion efficiency is improved as the number of dividing active area into several small sections is increased.
Construction of a liquid membrane type of cupric ion selective electrode and its application to the potentiometric titration have been studied. A liquid ion-exchange membrance was prepared by extracting Cu(II) in aqueous solution into 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol/nitrobenzene. A Ag/AgCl internal reference electrode was dipped into the aqueous reference solution of $1.00 {\times} 10^{-3}M\;Cu(NO_3)_2$ buffered with HAc-NaAc buffer solution, which was in contact with the nitrobenzene extract. The electrode showed the nernstian response to Cu(II) in the concentration range from $1.00{\times} 10^{-6}$ to $1.00{\times} 10^{-3}$M. The most suitable ion-exchanger concentration in the liquid membrane was $1.00{\times} 10^{-4}$M. The selectivity coefficients of the electrode for the various metal cations were investigated. The electrode was applied to the potentiometric titration of Cu(II) with EDTA.
Multilayer capacitors with high ripple current and high capacitance were manufactured. The electrical properties of these capacitors were characterized for potential application for DC-link capacitors in hybrid electric vehicle inverters. Internal electrode structures were designed to achieve high capacitance and reliability. A single multilayer capacitor showed $0.46{\mu}F/cm^3$ of capacitance, 0.65% of dielectric loss, and 1450 V to 1650 V of dielectric breakdown voltage depending on the design of the internal electrode. The capacitor module designed with several multilayer capacitors gave a total capacitance of $450{\mu}F$, which is enough for hybrid electric vehicles. In particular, an equivalent series resistance of $4.5m{\Omega}$ or less will result in 60 $A_{rms}$, thereby reaching the allowed ripple current for hybrid electric vehicles.
Electrochemical charateristics of activated carbon fiber cloth(ACFC) electrode were studied with propylene carbonate(PC), ${\gamma}$-butyrolactone(GBL) and N,N-dimethyl-formamide(DMF) as a solvent and tetraethylammoniumtetrafluoroborate(TEABF$_4$), tetraethylammoniumhexafluorophosphate(TEABF$_{6}$), tetrabutylammoniumtetrafluoroborate(TBABF$_4$) and tetrabutylammonium hexafluorophosphate(TBAPF$_6$) as an electrolytes(active material). The concentrations of electrolytes were in the range of 0.2~1.2 N, the volume ratios of PC and DMF as a mixed solvent system, were 90:10, 80:20, 70:30, 60:40, 50:50, and 40:60 vol%. Electrochemical characteristics such as electric conductivity, internal resistance, and electric capacitance of fabricated unit cells were measured after the moisture of activated material was removed with molecular sieve. Electrochemical characteristics were better in mixed solvents system than in mono solvent system. The mono solvent system of 1.0 N electrolyte of GBL/TEABF$_4$ with activated carbon cloth electrodes showed better result but the mixed solvent system with PC and DMF/TEABF$_4$(50:50 vol%) and the concentration of 1.0 N electrolyte showed the best characteristics. Internal resistance was 3.47 $\Omega$ and specific capacitance was 19.1 F/g respectively.y.
Deformation in the hysteresis loop of $Pb(Zr,Ti)O_3$ (PZT) thin films with various Zr/Ti ratios has been studied by varying the top electrode preparation method and the annealing temperature. Pt/PZT/Pt capacitors was found to be positively poled due to dc plasma potential generated during reactive ion etch (RIE) of Rt. Internal field is formed by space charges trapped at domain boundaries. Aging phenomenon such as constriction in the middle of the hysteresis loop was observed in the PZT film with top electrode deposited by sputtering. Top electrode annealing restores the hysteresis loop by removing the space charges. As Zr/Ti ratio decrease, voltage shift increases and an-nealing temperature at which internal field disappears also increases.
