A study on the sponsorship tactics of transnational tobacco companies in Korea: Review and analysis of tobacco industry internal documents (담배회사 내부문건분석을 통한 다국적 담배회사의 국내 후원 전략에 관한 연구)

  • Objectives: In this study, it was analyzed which marketing activity strategy multinational tobacco companies established against Republic of Korea through their internal documents and it was checked out how the marketing activities mentioned in the documents turned out to be actually. Methods: For that, analyzed the internal documents of tobacco companies after connecting Legacy Tobacco Documents Library(LTDL). Three documents were selected finally out of total searched 1,752 documents except the ones that did not include the theme or not appropriate. Results: Internal documents analysis showed that people smoke because the filter of cigarette shown in the movies looks nice. Tobacco companies carried out the marketing through sponsorship of soccer games, F1 Grand Prix was found in the internal documents. Conclusions: The legal restriction on marketing activities of tobacco companies should be enhanced by removing the articles of allowing advertisement and promotion for tobacco companies in Korean domestic law.

The Effect of Emotional Labor on the Intention to Leave among Female Employees at Dental Clinics and the Moderating Effect of Internal Marketing (여성 치과종사자의 감정노동이 이직의도에 미치는 영향과 내부마케팅의 조절효과에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose : This study aims to assess the impact of the emotional labor on female dental clinic employees' intention to leave, and the moderating effect of internal marketing, reducing the intention to leave and providing basic data for an effective human resources management of dental clinics. Methods : The structured self-administered questionnaires were distributed to dental hygienists, dental assistants and other employees (including administrative staff and dental coordinators, but excluding dentists) working at a dental hospital and at dental clinics in the Busan and Gyeongnam area. This study used SPSS Windows version 18.0 program (Chicago, IL, USA) to perform frequency factor, reliability, correlation, and hierarchical regression analyses were performed using SPSS. Results : First, emotional labor had a positive effect on the intention to leave. Two components of the internal marketing, communication and employee welfare system, had a significant moderating effect on the relationship between employees' emotional labor and their intention to leave, while the education/training component of the internal marketing showed no moderating effect. Conclusion : Enhancement of communication and the employee welfare system will help dental care organizations reduce their employees' emotional labor and hence employees' turnover.

  • Purpose- This research's purpose is to give implications on how to increase employee satisfaction and organizational commitment of Korean employees using internal marketing. To do that this study analyzes relationships among variables and analyses mediating effect of satisfaction. Also, this study wants to analyze economic performance change of business as a moderator so group comparison between an economic slump and economic recovery is included. Research design, data, and methodology- To analyze relationships among internal marketing, employee satisfaction and organizational commitment of Korean employees, this study used the 7th KRIVET's HCCP data of employee and firm's financial statements data. And conducted CFA, SEM and group comparison analysis by using AMOS 21. Result- According to the empirical results, employee satisfaction mediates between internal marketing and organizational commitment. However, trust was the only significant antecedent that give a positive influence on employee satisfaction. And employee satisfaction increases organizational commitment. Also, economic performance change of business does significantly deteriorate relationships. Conclusion- Based on this study result, implications to manage the organizational commitment of Korean employees are discussed. Especially, the effect of employee satisfaction and trust discussed. Also, economic performance group which is an economic slump and economic recovery differentiation is highlighted. Therefore the cautious approach is needed in managing employee attitude to job and organization is needed

A Study on the Effect of Retirement Education from the Perspective of Internal Marketing (내부마케팅 관점에서 본 퇴직예비교육 효과에 관한 연구)

  • This research is based on internal marketing to explain the effect of retirement education as the strategy for increasing internal customer satisfaction. The analysis was held with employees who work in Ulsan area by using SPSS18K and Smart PLS 2.0. The study verified the structural equation model hypothesizing the relationship among related factors including retirement education factors, job satisfaction, anxiety, motivation and customer orientation. According to the result of this study, retirement education factors have positive effect on the both job satisfaction and anxiety. However, the effect of leisure education is not significant for both job satisfaction and anxiety. Additional IPA was conducted to explain managerial implication of this research. The research has several marketing implication on internal marketing and internal customer satisfaction. For firms, employees' perception of retirement education can generate the tangible and intangible performance in the internal marketing perspectives.

  • Purpose: This study was to identify the influence of internal marketing factors on organizational citizenship behavior of nurses based on the mediate variable of job satisfaction. Method: Structured questionnaires were used with a convenience sample of 267 subjects working at 2 hospitals which have more than 500beds. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression. Result: Empowerment($\beta$= .395) and compensation($\beta$= -.232) among the internal marketing factors had significant influences on organizational citizenship behaviors. However, job satisfaction($\beta$= .266) showed a mediate variable between compensation and organizational citizenship behaviors. Conclusion: This result indicates that empowerment and job satisfaction are important factors in predicting organizational citizenship behavior of nurses in hospitals. Thus it would be necessary to include this two factors in inhencing production of a nursing unit.

Factors Influencing Customer Orientation of Nurses (간호사의 고객지향성에 미치는 영향요인)

  • This study was done to identify the factors influencing customer orientation of nurses. Method: The participants were 505 nurses who were working in 13 hospitals. Data were collected with structured questionnaires in Feb., 2012, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one way-ANOVA, Scheffe test, correlation coefficient, and hierarchical regression with PASW (SPSS) 18.0 program. Result: The average score for internal marketing was 3.07 points, for job satisfaction, 3.06 points, for organizational commitment, 3.25 points, and for customer orientation, 3.53 points. Customer orientation was positively correlated with internal marketing, job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The significant predictors of customer orientation were professionalism, interaction with job satisfaction, affective commitment, continuous commitment to organizational commitment and length of career. These variables had an explanatory power of 45.2%. Conclusions: The study findings suggest that internal marketing, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment should be reinforced to improve the customer orientation of nurses.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to compare internal marketing, job satisfaction and customer orientation between nurses in small-medium hospitals and nurses in general hospitals. Method: The participants were 470 nurses were working in 8 small-medium hospitals and 5 general hospitals. Data were collected with structured questionnaires in July, 2010, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, ${\chi}^2$-test, MANCOVA, t-test, One-way ANOVA, and Scheffe test with PASW (SPSS) 18.0 program. Results: There was no significant difference between small-medium hospital nurses and general hospital nurses in internal marketing and customer orientation. But nurses in small-medium hospitals had higher levels of job satisfaction than general hospital nurses. Conclusions: These findings demonstrate the necessity of developing programs that will help to improve job satisfaction in nurses.

  • Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance has achieved its goal of revenue growth while most of insurance companies have failed. It is because Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance continued to make sincere efforts to increase employee satisfaction. The service-profit chain posits that employee satisfaction is linked to customer satisfaction and to revenue growth. The case shows how Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance put the service-profit chain to work and how different its internal marketing strategy is.

  • In recent years there has been much emphasis on the need for service firms to develop an organizational culture which facilitates the successful implementation of marketing activities. This study examines the relationship among marketing culture, service quality, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty in fast food service firms. The results of empirical analysis can be summarized by the following: First, marketing culture(employee service quality, interpersonal relationships, selling task, organization, internal communications, innovativeness) had a significant direct effect on service quality. Second, marketing culture(employee service quality, selling task, internal communications) had a significant direct effect on customer satisfaction. It had also a positive, significant indirect effect on customer satisfaction through service quality. Third, service quality had a significant indirect effect on customer loyalty through customer satisfaction. Therefore, the results of the study provide the practical implication for establishment of service firms' marketing strategies, related to marketing culture.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of internal marketing factors on organizational commitment and emotional labor in the elderly Care Worker. The data are collected through structured questionnaires. The Subjects of the final analysis is 191 persons working in the elderly care facilities in Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk provinces. Hypothesis testing of the research model is performed using AMOS 18.0. The main results of this study are as follows. Internal marketing factors influenced only internal communication and management support for job satisfaction, internal support for managerial support for emotional labor, internal communication and management support for organizational commitment. The results of this study suggest that in order to enhance the organizational commitment of long-term care workers, it is important not to strengthen internal marketing capacity but to increase job performance first, and secondly, to improve job performance, It is necessary to establish a more diversified research on the variables of service quality of job satisfaction and emotional labor.
