  • In this paper, we design Real-Time Postal Logistics Operational Model and System as a to-be system. Current postal logistics information system, named PostNet, is a basic infra system designed for an end-to-end IT-driven process, from mail acceptance to delivery, linked with internal and external systems. Recent competing circumstances drive demand for more intelligent information system. So we design real-time postal logistics operational system focused on site operations. we analyze postal logistics operation and interview field workers and establish real-time postal logistics operational model to solve operational issues. Finally we suggest system specifications.

  • In power cable joints, the interfaces of two different dielectric materials are inevitable. In addition, the interfacial breakdown between two internal dielectric surfaces represents one of the major causes of failure for power cable joints. We chose epoxy/EPDM interface, one of the interface in cable joints, and investigate dielectric interfacial breakdown phenomenon. First, design specimen with Flux 2D. Second, find interface condition which has high dielectric strength. Third, investigate interfacial breakdown properties with variable temperature.

  • According as railway signalling equipments are computerized recently, necessity of communication protocol for interface between these equipments is increasing, Therefore the research about communication protocol structure that is need according to computerization trend of these signalling goes, especially communication protocol structure for interface between LDTS(Local Data Transmission System) and EIS(Electronic Interlocking System). Analyzed existent protocols that is applied currently for interfaces between above two signalling for this research and also technology analysis of internal/external similar protocols and operator and maker's requirement. With these study finding plain in this paper, explained summary of communication protocol structure for interface between LDTS and EIS.

  • For the implementation of CE(Concurrent Engineering), the TDMS(Technical Document Management System) which integrates design and manufacuring information, is required. In this paper a drawing information management system, one of the essential modules for the TDMS has been developed. The system is operated in SUN SPARC II workstations. A CAD software called CIMCAD-2D is used for the storage and management of drawings. Relational DBMS ORACLE is used for the development of information data bases concerned with drawings. As an integration tool, the multi-media software called LINKAGE is used. Various functions for drawings and concerned information have been developed with the internal language CIMSHELL and SQL $^*PLUS$.

  • In this paper we develop an adaptive interface between video compression and transission protocols to handle QoS fluctuations that are common to mobile communication systems. We consider various generic design alternatives for QoS adaptation and identify 'QoS negotiation' as the most promissing. This method gives the best possibilities to obtain system-wide efficiency. To handle the indued system complexity we apply a design philosophy (called ARC) that separates implementation dependencies by introducing QoS interfaces between system modules. In the ARC phlosophy the implementation details are hidden in the subsystems. To assure efficient adaptation, the QoS must be negotiated between modules. We select the QoS parameters that are both necessary and sufficient for efficient negotiation between the video encoder and protocol modules. We describe the relation between the QoS parameters at the interface and the internal parameters of common video coding methods and protocol elements. Furthermore, we describe a negotiation procedure that allows a system-wide optimum to emerge.

  • Imaging techniques using x-ray beam at high energies (>6KeV) such as contact radiography, projection microscopy, and tomography have been used to nondestructively discern internal structure of objects in material science, biology, and medicine. This paper introduces the x-ray micro-imaging method using 1B2 micro-probe line of PAL (Pohang Accelerator Laboratory). Cross-sectional information on low electron density materials can be obtained by probing a sample with coherent synchrotron x-ray beam in an in-line holography setup. Living organism such as plants, insects are practically transparent to high energy x-rays and create phase shift images of x-ray wave front. X-ray micro-images of micro-bubbles of $20\~120\;{\mu}m$ diameter in an opaque tube were recorded. Clear phase contrast images were obtained at Interfaces between bubbles and surrounding liquid due to different decrements of refractive index.

  • Fire safety systems in large buildings are likely to be complex and may be designed independently of other systems. This means that the interactions and interfaces between the fire safety systems and between the environmental control systems and the fire safety systems may not be carried out properly. Many large, recent buildings have many technological component systems that are used for the control of the environment within the building. Because of the "special" nature of the fire safety systems there is little consideration is given to the possibility systems with a dual function. However, many of the functions of fire safety systems are extensions of systems that provide the day to day control over the internal environment. The present world-wide trend towards the establishment of performance codes, and regulations, will enable the functional design of all systems and thereby allow closer integration of the "ordinary" and "special" systems. Some aspects of the functional and performance characteristics of systems in buildings are introduced and discussed. Special reference is made to the contributions of the systems to the minimisation of fire damage.e minimisation of fire damage.

  • We investigated the influence of the aspect ratio (H/R) of the oxide layer on the reactor vessel heating in three-layer configuration. Based on the analogy between heat and mass transfers, we performed mass transfer experiments to achieve high Rayleigh numbers ranging from $6.70{\times}10^{10}$ to $7.84{\times}10^{12}$. Two-dimensional (2-D) semi-circular apparatuses having the internal heat source were used whose surfaces of top, bottom and side simulate the interfaces of the oxide layer with the light metal layer, the heavy metal layer, and the reactor vessel, respectively. Multi-cell flow pattern was identified when the H/R was reduced to 0.47 or less, which promoted the downward heat transfer from the oxide layer and possibly mitigated the focusing effect at the upper metallic layer. The top boundary condition greatly affected the natural convection of the oxide layer due to the presence of secondary flows underneath the cold light metal layer.

  • The internal residual stresses within the multilayered structure with sharp interface induced by the difference in thermal expansion coefficient between the materials of adjacent layers often provide the source of failure such as delamination of interfaces etc. Recent development of the multilayered structure with functionally graded interface would be the solution to prevent this kind of failure. However a systematic thermo-mechanical analysis is needed for the customized structural design of multilayered structure. In this study, theoretical model for the thermo-mechanical analysis is developed for multilayered structures of the $Al-SiC_p$ functionally graded composite for electronic packaging. The evolution of curvature and internal stresses in response to temperature variations is presented for the different combinations of geometry. The resultant analytical solutions are used for the optimal design of the multilayered structures with functionally graded interface as well as with sharp interface.

  • As it seems like critical information leakages have been increasing due to industrial espionage and malicious internal users, the importance of introducing audit and log security technology is growing every now and then. In this paper, we suggest the session logging system for the company's internal control to meet the SOX legislation level, by monitoring and analyzing users behaviors connecting to the business-critical Operating System. The system proposed in this paper aims to monitor the user's illegal activities in the Operating System, and to present the clear evidence of purpose of those activities by detailed logs. For this purpose, we modified Operating System by adding multiple services suggested in this paper. These services utilize interfaces provided by the existing Operating System and add functions to control access and get logs. The system saves and manages session logs of users or administrators connected to the server with centralized log storage. And the system supports session log searching and lookup features required by SOX legislation for the company's internal controls with the level of computer forensics and logging technology.
