In order to detect the ultrasonic that is generated by the partial discharge of the heavy electric machinery, a Laser Doppler Vibrometer (LDV) was developed. A Michelson type interferometer which employed heterodyne signal process technique was built to measure the frequency and amplitude of vibration. The output signal of the fast photodetector was a frequency modulated signal centered at 40 MHz. The signal from the detector was amplified and downconverted to intermediate frequency centered at 1 MHz after mixing process. The voltage output that was proportional to the velocity of the moving surface(PZT) was obtained using PLL. The spectrum of the FM signal was analyzed and integration method was introduced to obtain amplitude information. This LDV can be used to measure the vibration of MEMS devices, automobiles, HDD and CDP.

A 1.485-Gbit/s video signal transmission system at carrier frequencies of 240 GHz and 300 GHz was implemented and demonstrated. The radio frequency front-ends are composed of Schottky barrier diode subharmonic mixers (SHMs), frequency triplers, and diagonal horn antennas for the transmitter and receiver. Amplitude shift keying with an intermediate frequency of 5.94 GHz was utilized as the modulation scheme. A 1.485-Gbit/s video signal with a high-definition serial digital interface format was successfully transmitted over a wireless link distance of 4.2 m and displayed on an HDTV with a transmitted average output power of 20 ${\mu}W$ at a 300-GHz system.

In this paper, self-oscillating mixer is designed by small signal S-parameter and series feedback circuit. The input-output matching circuit is accomplished from double stub and additional matching stub. The self-oscillating mixer is oscillating itself and amplifies without any external local oscillator and an intermediate frequency amplifier, so it has advantages in its economical and system simplification. The experimental results show the maximum conversion gain 1.5d B and the noise figure 6.5d B at RF center frequency 4GHz and IF 1.1GHz` output oscillating power 4d Bm, efficiency 13.4%, stability -10MHz/V and -0.5MHz/\ulcornerC at oscillating frequency 5.1GHz.The rejection band loss characteristics in band pass filter and low pass filter are -40d B and -30d B, respectively.

This paper presents a multi-frequency and multi-constellation Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signal generator that simulates intermediate frequency level digital signal samples for testing GNSS receivers. GNSS signal generators are ideally suited for testing the performance of GNSS receivers and algorithms under development in the laboratory for specific user locations and environments. The proposed GNSS signal generator features a fully-reconfigurable structure with the ability to adjust signal parameters, which is beneficial to generate desired signal characteristics for multiple scenarios including multi-constellation and frequencies. Successful signal acquisition, tracking, and navigation are demonstrated on a verified Software Defined Radio (SDR) in this study. This work has implications for future studies and advances the research and development of new GNSS signals.
Equivalent-time sampling can improve measurement or sensing systems because it enables a broader frequency band and higher delay resolution for periodic signals with lower sampling rates than a Nyquist receiver. Meanwhile, a digital down-conversion (DDC) technique can be implemented using a straightforward radio frequency (RF) circuit. It avoids timing skew and in-phase/quadrature gain imbalance instead of requiring a high-speed analog-to-digital converter to sample an intermediate frequency (IF) signal. Therefore, when equivalent-time sampling and DDC techniques are combined, a significant synergy can be achieved. This study provides a parameter design methodology for optimal equivalent-time sampling using DDC.

Bikes have recently emerged as an alternative to carbon neutrality. To understand the demand for public bikes, we endeavored to estimate travel frequency of public bike by considering the intermediate stops. Using the GPS trajectory data of 'Ttareungyi', a public bike service in Seoul, we identified a stay point and estimated travel frequency reflecting population, land use, and physical characteristics. Application of map matching and a stay point detection algorithm revealed that stay point appeared in about 12.1% of the total trips. Compared to a trip without stay point, the trip with stay point has a longer average travel distance and travel time and a higher occurrence rate during off-peak hours. According to visualization analysis, the stay points are mainly found in parks, leisure facilities, and business facilities. To consider the stay point, the unit of analysis was set as a hexagonal grid rather than the existing rental station base. Travel frequency considering the stay point were analyzed using the Zero-Inflated Negative Binomial (ZINB) model. Results of our analysis revealed that the travel frequency were higher in bike infrastructure where the safety of bike users was secured, such as 'Bikepath' and 'Bike and pedestrian path'. Also, public bikes play a role as first & last mile means of access to public transportation. The measure of travel frequency was also observed to increase in life and employment centers. Considering the results of this analysis, securing safety facilities and space for users should be given priority when planning any additional expansion of bike infrastructure. Moreover, there is a necessity to establish a plan to supply bike infrastructure facilities linked to public transportation, especially the subway.

The utilization of electric vehicles has been suggested to support the frequency regulation of power system. Assuming that an intermediate aggregator exists, this study suggests a decentralized vehicle-to-grid operation scheme in which each vehicle-to-grid aggregator can behave independently of the power system operator. To implement this type of decentralized operation, this study adopts a price-based operation that has been proposed by many researches as an alternative operation scheme for the power system. In this environment, each vehicle-to-grid aggregator can determine its participation in vehicle-to-grid service in consideration of its residual energy of aggregated system and real-time market price. Consequently, the main purpose of this study is to verify whether or not the vehicle-to-grid power can effectively support the current frequency regulation function within the price-based operation scheme. Specifically, a frequency regulation method is proposed based on the real-time price signal, and a feedback controller for battery management is designed for decentralized vehicle-to-grid operation.
A Laser Doppler Vibrometer(LDV) was developed using He-Ne laser as a light source. The heterodyne method was employed and its output signal was digitally processed with a $\mu$-processor and the result was displayed with LCD. The frequency shifted object beam(40 MHz) by a Bragg cell was focused on the surface of the moving target and the Doppler shifted reflected beam was recombined with reference beam at the fast photodetector to produce frequency modulated signal centered at 40 MHz. The signal from the detector was amplified and downconverted to intermediate frequency centered at 1 MHz after mixing process. The voltage output that was proportional to the velocity of the moving surface was obtained using PLL. With the same method, the fringe pattern signal of the moving surface is obtained. This fringe pattern signal is converted to TTL signal with ZCD(zero-crossing detector) and then counted to calculate the displacement due to the vibration, which is displayed with LCD. This LDV can be used to measure the resonant frequency of the electric equipments such as circuit breakers and transformers, of which resonant frequencies are changed when they are damaged.
