  • In this paper, the analysis model of a composite electromagnetic interference environment is proposed, and the composite interference consists of three types, i.e., impulse, sinusoidal, and rectangular type. Also, we have derived the p.d.f of the amplitude of the composite interference. And using a derived p.d.f, we have evaluated the performance of 16QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) system in a composite electromagnetic interference environment. From the results, it is known that when impulse type interference is weaker than the others, the shape of p.d.f is dominantly governed by the power component ratio of sinusoidal and rectangular type interference. On the other hand, when impulse type interference is stronger, the effect of the other two interference becomes insignificant. Also, It is shown that the smaller both impulsive index (A) and the mean power component ratio ($\Gamma$') in impulse type interference are, the worse the performance of 16QAM system is.

  • This paper reports a cognitive radio network architecture based on overloaded multicarrier direct sequence code division multiple access (O-MC-DS-CDMA). The O-MC-DSCDMA technique combines CDMA with a multicarrier modulation technique to overcome the channel fading effects. In this technique, secondary users are enabled to share the available bandwidth with the existing primary users. Two sets of orthogonal Gold codes are used to support the primary and secondary users simultaneously. The orthogonality between the spreading codes is lost due to the non-zero cross correlation between the codes and the timing synchronization error in the uplink transmission, which causes interference between primary and secondary users. This paper proposes two modified hybrid parallel/successive interference cancellation techniques for primary and secondary user base station receivers with multiple antennas to suppress the interference among users. Interference among the same group of users is cancelled by parallel interference cancellation and the interference among groups is cancelled using successive interference cancellation. The simulation results confirmed that the proposed modified interference cancellation techniques show better BER performance over conventional interference cancellation techniques.

  • When measuring impedance of electronic component and so on, even the small size can reject the interference to shielding object. But, the interference through human body is grown when measuring bioimpedance without establishing shield specially. Consequently, when measuring bioimpedance in this paper, it proposed impedance measurement method to take advantage of spread spectrum technology, so that can reject the interference without establishing shield specially. Spread spectrum impedance measurement method to propose in this paper can reject the interference signal that occurring from medical instruments in the human body, the interference signal that is flowed in from surrounding environment when measuring impedance. It improved SJR(signal to jamming ratio) about 22dB than conventional method that actually realize and experiment spread spectrum impedance measurement method.

  • A Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS) is an enabling technology for an aircraft's precision approach based on a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). However, GBAS is vulnerable to interference, so effective GNSS interference detection and mitigation methods need to be employed. In this paper, an intentional GNSS interference detection and characterization algorithm is proposed. The algorithm uses Automatic Gain Control (AGC) gain and adaptive notch filter parameters to classify types of incoming interference and to characterize them. The AGC gain and adaptive lattice IIR notch filter parameter values in GNSS receivers are examined according to interference types and power levels. Based on those data, the interference detection and characterization algorithm is developed and Monte Carlo simulations are carried out for performance analysis of the proposed method. Here, the proposed algorithm is used to detect and characterize single-tone continuous wave interference, swept continuous wave interference, and band-limited white Gaussian noise. The algorithm can be used for GNSS interference monitoring in an excessive Radio Frequency Interference environment which causes loss of receiver tracking. This interference detection and characterization algorithm will be used to enhance the interference mitigation algorithm.

  • In this paper, Analyzed Performance of TH/UWB(Time Hopping/Ultra Wideband after Impulse Radio) system in interference environment by existing system that use same frequency band. In case interference fraction ratio is below 0.1, consider and analyzed in case influence through interference in IR system that is shared in 3.1 - 10.6 GHz band hereafter as case that use very small and narrow band than IR system such as 80 MHz bandwidth of ISM band or 802.1la's use bandwidth 20 MHz in 5 GHz band. According to result, we could know that Performance change according to possession band width of interference shows greatly than size of interference electric power. Also, interference fraction ratio is big (more than 0.1) narrowband interference in partial band interference environment, could get Performance improvement of big width increasing pulse repetition number. But, could know that do not influence hardly in system performance when interference fraction ratio is small (below 0.1) narrowband interference. Therefore, may receive the best system performance and transfer efficiency by set the most suitable pulse repetition number according to bandwidth fraction ratio of interference through correct interference fraction ratio estimation and apply proper interference suppression techniques.

  • This letter proposes an iterative multimode precoding scheme with limited feedback for nonreciprocal MIMO interference channels. Based on analysis of game theory, we model the iterative multimode precoding as a noncooperative game with a finite set of strategies. Numerical results are presented to verify the sum rate performance of the proposed scheme.

  • In this paper, interference effect given from non-geostationary orbit link into geostationary orbit link is analyzed by BER performance. To analyze the interference effect with the angle between satellites, the angular separation is changed from $1^{\circ}$ to $8^{\circ}$, and the number of the satellite is also changed from 1 to 4 for analyzing it. From the results, the interference effect into the geostationary orbit service from non-geostationary orbit link is more increased according to the angular separation that is decreased. Especially, the small angle gives more interference effects to the geostationary orbit link. Furthermore, more number of interfering satellites gives more interference effect to the geostationary orbit link. However, the angle between the interference orbit and geostationary orbit gives more effect to the system performance then the number of the interference orbit.

  • The X-band frequencies for transmitting the data from earth observation satellites are limited, so a number of satellites share the frequency bands. In order for multiple satellites to utilize same or adjacent frequency bands, International Telecommunication Union - Radiocommunication (ITU-R) limits power flux density (PFD), which overcomes the interferences among multiple satellites. However, even under the regulation, the interference effect needs to be analyzed when multiple satellites are connected to communicate with multiple ground stations (GSs) located close to each other. In this paper, the interference effect is analyzed based on signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) when two low earth orbit (LEO) satellites operating in different orbits are connected to communicate with randomly located two GSs in Korean peninsula. From the analysis results, it is confirmed that there can be interferences during 365 days operation even if the satellites meet PFD requirement, but the periods under interference effects are short and the interference can be foreseen.

  • Optical performance evaluation results and an interference fringe pattern analysis of alignment errors for an optical head of a near-field receding (NFR) system are presented. The focusing unit is an optical head of a NFR system and is composed of a solid immersion lens (SIL) and an objective lens (OL). Generally, the size of the focusing unit is smaller than that of the conventional optical recording head. Hence there are difficulties to assemble the small focusing unit precisely. We composed an evaluation system with an interferometer and evaluated some focusing unit samples aligned and assembled by manual and present the obtained results. Using the conventional optical tool, Code V, a tolerance analysis of the alignment error between the SIL and the objective lens and an interference pattern analysis for the assembly error are executed. Then, through an analysis of the simulation results, the conceptual auto-alignment methodology using a neural network approach is considered.

  • This paper proposes an analysis method of performance degradation of antenna due to radio frequency interference between an antenna and adjacent noise sources using active scattering parameters. The radio frequency interference can be analyzed by the measured or simulated scattering parameters and by excited noise sources in the circuit as well. In this paper, a planar inverted-F antenna and a noise source are designed and fabricated to analyze radio frequency interference between the planar inverted-F antenna and noise source. The proposed analysis method uses active scattering parameters, of which verification is experimentally verified, and in simulation as well.
