  • In this paper, we designed and implemented digital wireless audio system with embedded RTOS using Bluetooth. Transmitter is consisted of a Settopbox, FIFO for interface block, Microprocessor(ARM7TDMI), UART driver and Bluetooth module. Receiver is consisted of a Microprocessor, AC-3 decoder, Bluetooth module and a Speaker with Amp. We programed Bluetooth protocal stack of HCI, L2CAP, and RFCOMM, so that Bluetooth module interacts with CPU.

  • We implement the PBSM (Protocol-Based Security Module) system which guarantees the secure data transmission under web circumstances. There are two modules to implement for the PBSM architecture. One is Web Server Security Module (WSSM) which is working on a web server, the other is the Winsock Client Security Module (WSCSM) which is working on a client. The WSCSM security module decrypts the encrypted HTML document that is received from the security web server The decrypted HTML document is displayed on the screen of a client. The WSSM module contains the encryption part for HTML file and the decryption part for CGI (Common Gateway Interface). We also implement the proposed idea at the web system.

  • In this paper, we introduce non-touch style interface system technology without any touch style controlling mechanism, which is called as "Air-interface". To develop this system, we used the full reflection principle of infrared (IR) light and then user's hand is separated from the background with the obtained image at every frame. The segmented hand region at every frame is used as input data for an hand-motion recognition module, and the hand-motion recognition module performs a suitable control event that has been mapped into the specified hand-motion through verifying the hand-motion. In this paper, we introduce some developed and suggested methods for image processing and hand-motion recognition. The developed air-touch technology will be very useful for advertizement panel, entertainment presentation system, kiosk system and so many applications.

  • 본 논문은 미국 차세대 디지털 케이블 방송 표준 규격인 오픈케이블($OpenCable^{TM}$)의 수신제한 모듈인 CableCard의 Physical Layer를 SystemC의 TLM(Transaction Level Modeling)과 RTL(Register-Transfer Level) 모델링 기법으로 설계하였다. 본 논문에서 설계한 CableCard의 Physical Layer는 PCMCIA Interface, Command Inteface 그리고 MPEG-2 TS Interface 로 구성된다. CableCard가 전원이 인가될 때, 카드 초기화를 위하여 동작하는 PCMCIA 인터페이스는 16 비트 PC 카드 SRAM 타입으로 2MByte Memory와 100ns access time으로 동작할 수 있게 설계하였다. PCMCIA 카드 초기화 동작이 완료된 후, CableCard의 기능을 수행하기 위하여 두 개의 논리적 인터페이스가 정의되는데 하나는 MPEG-2 TS 인터페이스이고, 다른 하나는 호스트(셋톱박스)와 모듈 사이의 명령어들을 전달하는 명령어 인터페이스(Command Interface)이다. 명령어 인터페이스(Command Interface)는 셋톱박스의 CPU와 통신하기 위한 1KByte의 Data Channel과 OOB(Out-Of-Band) 통신을 위한 4KByte의 Extended Channel 로 구성되고, 최대 20Mbits/s까지 동작한다. 그리고 MPEG-2 TS는 100Mbits/s까지 동작을 수행할 수 있게 설계하였다. 설계한 코드를 실행한 후, Cadence사의 SimVision을 통해서 타이밍 시뮬레이션을 검증하였다.

  • 전화를 통해 인터넷 정보를 들을 수 있는 보이스 포탈(Voice Portal) 서비스가 인기를 얻고 있다. Voice Portal 서비스란 알고자 하는 정보를 Speech Recognition System에 음성으로 명령하면 전화를 통해 음성으로 원하는 정보를 듣는 서비스이다. Authentication의 절차를 수행하는 SMS (Short Message Service) 서버 Module, PSTN과 Database 서버사이의 Interface를 제공하는 CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) Module, CTI 서버와 WWW (World Wide Web) 사이의 Voice XML Module, 정보를 검색하기 위한 Searching Module들이 필요하다. 본 논문은 Speech Recognition technology를 기반으로 한 CTI Module 설계를 구현하였다. 또한 인정 방식으로 Random한 일회용 password를 기반으로 한 SMS Authentication을 택하므로 더욱 더 안정된 서비스 제공을 목적으로 하였다.

  • In this paper, we developed new time information recording module of VSI (VLBI Standard Interface) format by analyzing the Mark5B recorder control and operation software with 1Gbps speed, which is able to record the weak signal of space radio source, through the Korean VLBI Network (KVN). The control and operation software of high-speed recorder consists of 2 kinds of software, which is that it can operate RAID control board by controlling large capacity HDD drive and the network control and operation. Especially, core software in high-speed recorder is able to output the results after performing and analyzing the input command. Through the analysis of control and operation software, new time information recording module, which is needed to process the observed data for correlation, is developed. New developed time information recording module can record the time information together after checking the interrupt of 1PPS(Pulse Per Second) input signal when the observed data will be recorded. To verify the normal operation of the developed time information recording module, we performed the real observation test and confirmed the effectiveness of developed software through analyzing the recorded observation data.

Study of Modulation Effect in Integrated Interface Under Controlling Switching Light-Emitting Diode Lighting Module

  • This study was carried out to solve problems such as radio frequency band depletion, confusion risk, and security loss in existing visible wireless communication systems, and to determine the applicability of next-generation networks. A light-emitting diode (LED) light communication system was implemented with a controlling switching light module using the ATmega16 micro-controller. To solve the existing modulation effect and disturbance in visible light communication, an integrated interface was evaluated with a driving light module and analyzes its reception property. A transmitter/receiver using the ATmel's micro-controller, high-intensity white LED-6 modules, and infrared sensor KSM60WLM and visible sensor TSL250RD were designed. An experiment from the initial value of distance to 2.5 m showed 0.46 V of the voltage loss, and if in long distance, external light interference occurred and light intensity was lost by external impact and thus data had to be modified or reset repeatedly. Additionally, when we used 6 modules through the remote controller's lighting dimming, data could be transmitted up to 1.76 m without any errors during the day and up to 2.29 m at night with around 2~3% communication error. If a special optical filter can reduce as much external light as possible in the integrated interface, the LED for lighting communication systems may be applied in next generation networks.

  • Most of the existing applications developed undter the DOS environment exchange information with the exterior world through reading and writing files in ASCII format. A package program consisting of numerous modules has to exchange data not only between module program and the input/output files but also between module themselves, and hence information exchange via ASCII file is increasingly inefficient and less accurate as the number of modules increases. The present paper describes the design and the implementation of the interface between the module program and the database which stores all the information necessary for the execution of the application. The interface program is then applied to the existing Propeller Design and Analysis System to show that the interface functions smoothly. The development is performed on the personal computer operating under Windows 95 rather than the workstation under Unix operating system to prove that the design and analysis work can be carried out without limit in time and space.

  • Industrial HMI(Human Machine Interface) system is the main element among the factory automation processes and have been used to monitor and control operation and status of machine in factory with PLC. This HMI often brings heavy loads to the system development and difficult decreasing the system because it tends to use a specific system per each manufacturer. Therefore, in this thesis, we have developed an embedded linux-based embedded industrial HMI software modules which can be used for touch panel embedded system to solve these problem. In this module, we have used the Qt/Embedded software component because it can be used by all systems which support C++ compiler without modifying the existing codes. We can design more flexible system and network configuration because we have used the wireless communication module. In this thesis, we implement linux-based HMI software modules which are capable of wireless communication as well as bringing the mobility to the overall system and finally decreasing the system development loads by using the general purpose OS with competitive price.

  • There is much information of equipment in shop floor because the manufacturing processes are different as the equipment within the manufacturing process is varied. To provide effective process information to MES and other production systems, the DAS requires an equipment monitoring system that takes into account the characteristics of the equipment on the shop floor. In this study, we proposed some methods for collecting the required information about various equipments on a shop floor. The equipments such as CNC can be interfaced with the DAS by using a PLC-based method and a sensor-based interface board can be used to interface general equipments. The proposed methods can be used to collect information on the shop floor in real-time. Moreover these methods are very adaptive and can be easily modified according to the changes made to the shop floor. The information about a real shop floor acquired by employing these methods is saved in a database and the can be provided to a supervisor and MES so that they are aware of the status of the shop floor.
