A Study on Readiness Assessment for The Acquisition of High Quality Weapon System (고품질 무기체계 획득을 위한 성숙도평가 방안 소개)

  • Purpose: Technology readiness assessment(TRA) used as a standard readiness assessment tool in the acquisition program of weapon system has some limitations in the comprehensive understanding of the complex system. Therefore, this research is intended to suggest a holistic maturity assessment method for the acquisition of high quality weapon system. Methods: Technology readiness level(TRL), manufacturing readiness level(MRL), integration readiness level(IRL) and system readiness level(SRL) developed to assess system maturities in the various aspects are compared and analyzed to draw an improvement avenue for the current readiness assessment method. Results: TRL, MRL, IRL and SRL have large differences in their maturity targets during the acquisition life cycle: technological performance, manufacturing capability, interface between components and total system, respectively. They complement one another's shortcomings Conclusion: To achieve a successful acquisition of high quality weapon system, multi-dimensional readiness assessment is required. Therefore, comprehensive readiness assessment using TRL, MRL, IRL and SRL will contribute to the acquisition of high quality weapon system through the accurate maturity information of overall system.

  • 부하 모델링을 위해서는 구성요소기반 부하모델링과 측정기반 부하모델링 두 가지 방법이 사용된다. 구성요소기반 부하모델링은 모선에 부하의 구성비에 기반으로 하는 부하모델 기법이고, 측정기반 부하모델링은 부하가 설치된 모선의 전압과 소비전력의 측정값으로부터 관계를 수학적으로 모델링하는 기법이다. 본 논문에서는 부하모델을 위해 복합부하모델이 적용되었다. 복합부하모델은 정적부하모델과 동적부하모델을 모두 포함하고 있으며, 정적부하모델로서는 ZIP 모델이 사용되고, 동적 부하모델로는 유도전동기 모델이 사용되었다. 측정기반 부하모델의 파라미터 추정을 위해 TSAT(trensient security assessment tool) 프로그램으로부터 얻은 측정데이터를 이용해 파라미터 추정을 한다. 또한 사용자 편의를 위한 GUI(graphical user interface)의 적용을 통한 부하모델 파라미터 추정 프로그램을 개발하였다.

Experimental Modal Analysis for Damage Identification in Foundation-Structure Interface of Caisson-type Breakwater (케이슨식 방파제 지반-구조 경계부 손상식별을 위한 실험적 모드분석)

  • This paper presents an experimental modal analysis of a caisson-type breakwater to produce basic information for the structural health assessment of a caisson structure. To achieve the objective, the following approaches are implemented. First, modal analysis methods are selected to examine the modal characteristics of a caisson structure. Second, experimental modal analyses are performed using finite element analyses and lab-scale model tests. Third, damage scenarios that include several damage levels in a foundation-structure interface are designed. Finally, the effects of damage on the modal characteristics are analyzed for the purpose of utilizing them for damage identification.

  • The purpose of this study is to present the design of search interface of mobile catalog of University libraries by identifying the current situation of search interface of mobile catalog of domestic and overseas academic libraries and users' preferences derived by survey, and reflecting the combined results. The investigation on current situation of search interface of mobile catalog of domestic University libraries was carried out by using checklist for functional assessment targeting 82 mobile catalogs. For overseas examples, contents and functional elements about 15 mobile catalog search interface of academic libraries in England and US were examined and analyzed. In addition, three domestic University libraries's mobile catalogs were selected as research targets and the survey was carried out to identify the situation of use of mobile catalog and preference on search interface.

  • Flame retardant halogen containing compounds have been replaced as environmentally safe material which does not contain hazardous materials generating toxic gas. Self-extinguishing epoxy resin compositions have been studied in order to produce eco-friendly epoxy molding compound, which is used as insulating materials in semiconductor. We developed self-extinguishing epoxy resin compositions which do not contain halogen compounds with new epoxy resin (E3). The new epoxy molding compound (EMC-1) showed high flame resistance (UL-V0) and high thermal resistance ($451.9^{\circ}C$ at 5 wt% loss) enough to use as eco-friendly material.

  • The authors argue that the current Government Information System for asthmatics appears to be non-user friendly due to lack of the cartographic representation for the text based statistical data. Acknowledging these constraints, an operational, user-friendly map for asthmatic prevalence has been generated by combining existing statistical data with the administrative Dong boundary map under GIS environment. The Geographical User Interface, in particular, were ideally suited to deriving the major distribution patterns that more asthmatic prevalence tends to be occurred on conventional commercial district and industrial complex. A visual map using spatial modelling technology were generated to show the fact that some degree of increasing or decreasing trends of asthmatic prevalence already exists in the experimental sites. It could be used as an evidence to restrict initiation of development activities causing negative influence to asthma such as road construction. The result of this study would play a crucial role in improving the quality of environmental health information service if it is operationally introduced into the Government since the highly user-friendly interface provides a completely new means for disseminating information for asthmatics in a visual and interactive manner to the general public.

Development of the Buckling Strength Assessment System based on Offshore Structure Design Code (해양구조물 설계코드에 기반한 좌굴강도 평가 시스템 개발)

  • FPSO is widely used to develop deep sea oil fields and HHI has constructed ten(10) FPSOs. During these constructions, relevant structural design criteria such as yielding, buckling, fatigue, collision and impact strength were applied to verify structural safety. To apply the buckling strength evaluation for structures, the critical buckling stresses and applied stresses of relevant panels should be calculated. The plate and stiffened panels are to be idealized, which are needed much time and efforts by designers. Therefore, program development is necessary in order to evaluate the buckling strength conveniently and accurately. In this study, the buckling strength assessment system by using offshore code, DNV-RP-C201 was developed under MSC/PATRAN, pre-post program of finite element method. Graphic user interface program is written in MSC/PATRAN PCL functions. Source program to evaluate the buckling strength is developed in FORTRAN programming languages. The developed program is verified by comparing with the results of the Nauticus Hull developed by DNV Classification Society, and applied to the marine construction project conducted by Hyundai Heavy Industries LTD.

Creep-Fatigue Crack Growth at CrMo Steel Weld Interface (CrMo강 용접계면균열의 크리프-피로 균열성장거동)

  • Creep-fatigue crack growth behavior was experimentally measured particularly when a crack was located in the heat affected region of lCr-5Mo steel. Load hold times of the tests for trapezoidal fatigue waveshapes were varied among 0, 30, 300 and 3,600 seconds. Time-dependent crack growth rates were characterized by the $C_r$parameter. It was found that the crack growth rates were the highest when the crack path was located along the fine-grained heat affected zone(FGHAZ). Cracks located in other heat affected regions had a tendency to change the crack path eventually to FGHAZ. Creep-fatigue crack growth law of the studied case is suggested in terms of (da/dt)$_{avg}$ vs. ($C_t$)$_{avg}$ for residual life assessment.

Study on Properties of Epoxy Resin Compositions Containing Novolac Derivatives (바이페닐 유도체를 도입한 에폭시 수지 조성물의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Recently epoxy resin compositions having backbone of novolac derivatives with biphenylene compounds have been used as materials of eco-freindly EMC (Epoxy Molding Compound), because the cured epoxy resin compositions show the self-extinguishing without flame retardant additives. In this study, epoxy resin compositions were prepared and cured using novolac derivateves with biphenylene. Their propeties - structures of phenol derivatives and reactivity, thermal expansion, modulus, and thermal degradation - were obtained by DSC, DMA, TMA, TGA method. When both epoxy resin and hardenr had the biphenyl novolac structure, epoxy resin compositions showed low thermal expansion, good mechanical property, and combustion retardation.
