  • 사용자가 컴퓨터와 자연스럽고 인간적으로 대화할 수 있고, 사람의 요구에 지능적인 해답을 능동적으로 제시할 수 있는 사용자 인터페이스 에이전트가 활발히 연구되고 있다. 음성, 펜, 제스쳐인식 등을 비롯한 다양한 방법을 통하여 사람의 의사전달방식을 컴퓨터의 입력수단으로 구현하여 사용자 편의성을 도모하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 컴퓨터를 블랙박스로 하고, 표면적으로 지능형 3차원 그래픽 얼굴 에이전트와 사용자가 의사소통을 하는 사용자 인터페이스를 대상으로 하였다. 컴퓨터가 단순문제 해결을 위한 도구에서 많은 정보를 다양한 매체를 통해 제공하는 보조자의 역할을 수행하게 되었기 때문에 위의 방법은 보다 적극적인 방법이라 할 수 있다. 이를 위한 기반 기술로써 국어를 발음하는 얼굴 애니메이션을 연구하였다. 발음을 표현하기 위한 데이터로써 디지털 카메라를 사용하여 입술 운동의 특징점의 위치를 조사하였고, 모델링 시스템을 개발하여 데이터를 입력하였다. 적은 데이터로도 복잡한 자유곡면을 표현할 수 있는 B-Spline곡면을 기본데이터로 사용하였기 때문에 애니메이션을 위한 데이터의 양 또한 줄일 수 있었다. 그리고 국어음소의 발음시간 수열에 대한 입술모양의 변화를 조사하여 발음소리와 입술 움직임을 동기화 시킨 발음 애니메이션을 구현하였다.

Effect of Heat Treatment on the Adhesive Strength of Electoless Nickel Deposits (무전해법으로 Slide Glass 위에 도금된 Ni층의 접착력에 미치는 열처리의 영향)

  • Surface modification before coating nickel by coupling agents and/or etchant of glass did not provide enough adhesive strength of electroless nickel deposits on glass. Effect of heat treatments on hardness as well as adhesion of nickel deposits was studied by using tape test for adhesion, nanoindenter for hardness and glancing angle x-ray diffractometer (GAXRD) for phase characterization. Heat treatment improved hardness as well as adhesion. XRD results give that the improvements of adhesion and hardness are due to the formation of $NiSiO_4$ around the interface between the nickel deposits and the glass and the precipitation of $Ni_3P$ causing precipitation hardening, respectively.   • Unlike RNA interference, whose usage is limited to eukaryotic cells, Peptide Nucleic Acid (PNA) technique is applicable to both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. PNA has been proven to be an effective agent for blocking gene expressions and has several advantages over other antisense techniques. Here we developed a parallel computing software that provides the ideal sequences to design PNA oligos to prevent any off-target effects. We applied a new approach in our location-finding algorithm that finds a target gene from the whole genome sequence. Message Passing Interface (MPI) was used to perform parallel computing in order to reduce the calculation time. The software will help biologists design more accurate and effective antisense PNA by minimizing the chance of off-target effects.

  • As today's home-network market grows related researches had been increased and with different interfaces of these products of course there is lack of compatibility between these systems. So we need some extensionable managing system which integrates and manages these systems. In this paper, we designed framework that integrates and manages network system and also implemented Home Gateway using JMX on Sensor-network environment. It may manage each target with modulization and through the connection interface we make allowance compatibility and extensionability between existing systems. Through this researches, we implemented the Home-network integrated managing system which can manage and monitor with PDA or RDP(remote desktop PC).

Surface Modification of Polyester by UV-irradiation with Oxidizing Agent, and Its Adhesion Property (자외선/산화제 처리에 의한 폴리에스테르의 표면개질 및 접착성)

  • The adhesive properties of polyester cord in rubber matrix were investigated according to the surface modification. The polyester cord was oxidized in sodium hypochlorite solution, and graft-polymerized with acrylic acid under the irradiation with ultraviolet light, and then coated with resorcinol-formaldehyde latex (RFL). The modified surface was checked with scanning electron microscope. The adhesive properties were measured by the full-Out method, and evaluated with regard to the energy of adhesion and the maximum load. The polyester was not oxidized in sodium hypochlorite solution, so the surface was not able to etch to produce the coarse topology. As the concentration of acrylic acid and the reaction time were increased, the graft yields were also increased. It was considered that the acrylic acid would swell the polyester and diffuse easily to the inner side of substrate. The adhesive properties of polyeser to rubber matrix were affected by the surface condition. Namely, the maximum load was almost same, but the energy of adhesion was rather higher In the polyester grafted with acrylic acid than in control one. We concluded that the flexible aliphatic chains of polyacrylic acid situated in the interface of cord and rubber matrix were distributed well the stress and strain all over the filler resulting the high energy of adhesion.

  • The mecllanical properties of AI/TiCp composite fabrication by liquid mixing was investigat ed. The composites, containing 10 wt% Tic. were producwi using induction furnace with mechanical stirring. The amounts of' 1.5wt% Mg were, added to wetting agents. Thr presence of aluminum in TiC composites showed rnhanced strengrh without loss of ductility at room and clrvated temperatures. Espe cially, wear resistance was found to dramatically irnprovc. I3ul excess stirring d~terrninrd the mect~ani~ cal properties. Approximate values at present work were 500 rpm. There was no inrerfacial reaction of any kind and the interface remains clearly deineated.

  • The polypropylene/polyamide elastomer (PP/PAE) blends were prepared by melt mixing. PP and PAE in PP/ PAE were immiscible completely. The size of PAE domains was large and the clear gap in the interface between PP and PAE existed, which did not meet the conditions enhancing toughness of polymers by elastomer. Therefore, maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene (MP) was used to improve the miscibility between PP and PAE. The miscibility between PP and PAE was improved and the size of dispersed phase PAE decreased by introducing MP. The crystallization of PP became easier by introducing PAE as a nucleating agent. With the increase of PAE content, the melt-crystallization temperatures of PP components in PP/PAE/MP blends increased gradually. The melt-crystallization of the polytetramethylene oxide segment of PAE component in PP/PAE blends were hampered by PP component. In addition, PAE can enhance significantly the toughness of PP, and the tensile strength and modulus did not decrease.

  • In this paper, we propose a new remote control and monitoring technique using web-service technology for URC robot. URC robot needs the architecture which can be applied all over the variety hardware and software platform for supporting the several interface with external world in the ubiquitous environment. In this paper, web-service technology is preferentially deliberated how to adopt into the embedded environment and the remote control and monitoring technology based on web-service technology for URC robot is designed and implemented as to support the interaction with agent programs. It has been carried out through simulating and implementing this technology into the target robot called NETTORO and proved its practical worth.

  • As ubiquitous technology develops, there are many studies to provide various contents proper to users through a mobile device. However, there is a limit of information provision due to a small user interface of a mobile device. This study proposes a system that can solve a problem and provide an intelligent agent model appropriate to a mobile environment and job information positively that an individual user is interested. It is composed of a personalization engine to monitor users' behavior patterns and a learning algorithm to provide information to a mobile device. Analysis shows that preferred job items are different by sex, age and education, while a region affects job searching significantly.

Risk-Incorporated Trajectory Prediction to Prevent Contact Collisions on Construction Sites

  • Many construction projects involve a plethora of safety-related problems that can cause loss of productivity, diminished revenue, time overruns, and legal challenges. Incorporating data collection and analytics methods can help overcome the root causes of many such problems. However, in a dynamic construction workplace collecting data from a large number of resources is not a trivial task and can be costly, while many contractors lack the motivation to incorporate technology in their activities. In this research, an Android-based mobile application, Preemptive Construction Site Safety (PCS2) is developed and tested for real-time location tracking, trajectory prediction, and prevention of potential collisions between workers and site hazards. PCS2 uses ubiquitous mobile technology (smartphones) for positional data collection, and a robust trajectory prediction technique that couples hidden Markov model (HMM) with risk-taking behavior modeling. The effectiveness of PCS2 is evaluated in field experiments where impending collisions are predicted and safety alerts are generated with enough lead time for the user. With further improvement in interface design and underlying mathematical models, PCS2 will have practical benefits in large scale multi-agent construction worksites by significantly reducing the likelihood of proximity-related accidents between workers and equipment.
