  • This paper tried to study how the narrative to allow the audience to emotionally immerse in documentary using virtual reality platform has shown. For this purpose, it defined the VR documentary as contents what make creative approach and rebuild reality using VR media platform, and analyzed it by comparison with narrative of existing documentary. First, the contents like succeeding journey documentary use mainly virtual realty as experience of accessibility. However the contents that have purpose to experience other people's reality show from self-narrative of first person documentary to interactive storytelling of web interactive documentary. The case of interactive VR documentary is taking a step forward from web documentary and shows easy way to reach internal purpose of documentary as making experience with virtual self. The VR documentary has a lot of possibility as virtual space experience to give accessibility and virtual self.

  • Recently, systems providing the interaction different according to an interval between a user and the display were developed in order to construct the ambient or the ubiquitous computing environment. Therefore, we propose a new type of spatial interaction system; our main goal is to provide the interactive domain in the large-scale ambient display environment. So, we divide into two zones of interaction dependent on the distance from the interaction surface interactive zone and ambient zone. In interactive zone, the users can approach the interaction surface and interact with natural hand-touch. When the users are outside the range of the interactive zone, the display shows only general information. Therefore, this system offers the various interactions and information to users in the ubiquitous ambient environment.

  • This paper presents a new 3D sound toolkit called $EVE-Sound^{TM}$ that consists of pre-processing tool for environment simplification preserving sound effect and 3D sound API for real-time rendering. It is designed so that it can allow users to interact with complex 3D virtual environments by audio-visual modalities. $EVE-Sound^{TM}$ toolkit would serve two different types of users: high-level programmers who need an easy-to-use sound API for developing realistic 3D audio-visually rendered applications, and the researchers in 3D sound field who need to experiment with or develop new algorithms while not wanting to re-write all the required code from scratch. An interactive virtual environment application is created with the sound engine constructed using $EVE-Sound^{TM}$ toolkit, and it shows the real-time audio-visual rendering performance and the applicability of proposed $EVE-Sound^{TM}$ for building interactive applications with complex 3D environments.

  • The arcade gun has been a popular game controller in the video game market from the 1970s. The arcade gun, which is used partially in game centers and domestic games, recently is utilized as the interface for the interactive system and tangible media. On the other hand, the existing arcade gun has limits on hardware so it is unsuitable for wide screens. In addition, being platform-dependent, it is inapplicable to various types of content as a single module. This study suggests a correction algorithm that establishes an arcade gun system based on an infrared camera to solve those drawbacks and apply to possibly numerous surroundings.

  • For human beings, language is the most important means of communication. Bloom and Lahey see successful language development as an interaction between form, content, and use. Language knowledge is a social phenomenon produced in a socio-cultural environment through interaction. Teachers have traditionally concentrated on the structure of their student's writing rather than on the message. If writing is to be seen as an interactive social process between humans, it is the content which is responded to. Language acquisition could be a major problem for hearing-impaired children and their acquisition of written language is characteristically problematic. This study is to search the use of microcomputers in written conversational methods, which enable the hearing-impaired student to hear their conversations in a visual form and which usefully extend their written language learning opportunities.

  • Recent use of digital video contents increases visual fatigue of users. As a result, it has been difficult that the existing video methods make users focus on the content with interest and deliver stories intended by contents producers. Parallax scrolling is getting the spotlight as a new way which are keeping the fluent visual advantages of video and help users maintaining their attention with simple maneuver. In this study, based on a survey, it would compare the user experience in an existing video in Web contents and parallax scrolling Web contents. As a result, it showed that using the parallax scrolling Web sites improve user sensibilities such as aesthetic, novelty and pleasure of user experiences. A remarkable thing is that users replied parallax scrolling is not much comfortable to use. According to the result, researchers suggest that using parallax scrolling in Web site needs thoughtful decision in making and managing of Web contents.

  • This study examines the influence of experiencing interactive media in exhibition halls on the satisfaction and perception for the exhibition space. Field measurements and surveys were performed in two exhibition halls where various interactive media were exhibited. Results imply that experiencing interactive media was important to enhance understanding the information provided by them. In order to improve satisfaction for the exhibition halls, the layout of space need to be organized effectively in a way that visitors easily feel interest in the contents and information exhibited in the space. Also, in order to keep better perception for exhibition space, the information provided in the space should be organized clearly and open to visitors easily. The flow of visitors' traffic in the exhibition space should be perceived easily by the visitors. Multiple linear regression indicated that the space should be organized effectively with good visual composition that surrounds the exhibits in order to improve satisfaction level for the exhibition hall. In addition, various information provided by the media contributed to improve perception for the exhibition hall.

  • Achieving realistic visual quality while maintaining optimal real-time rendering performance is a major challenge in evolving computer graphics and interactive 3D applications. Normal mapping, as a core technology in 3D, has matured through continuous optimization and iteration. Hybrid normal mapping as a new mapping model has also made significant progress and has been applied in the 3D asset production pipeline. This study comprehensively explores the hybrid normal techniques, analyzing Linear Blending, Overlay Blending, Whiteout Blending, UDN Blending, and Reoriented Normal Mapping, and focuses on how the various hybrid normal techniques can be used to achieve rendering performance and visual fidelity. performance and visual fidelity. Under the consideration of computational efficiency, visual coherence, and adaptability in different 3D production scenes, we design comparative experiments to explore the optimal solutions of the hybrid normal techniques by analyzing and researching the code, the performance of different hybrid normal mapping in the engine, and analyzing and comparing the data. The purpose of the research and summary of the hybrid normal technology is to find out the most suitable choice for the mainstream workflow based on the objective reality. Provide an understanding of the hybrid normal mapping technique, so that practitioners can choose how to apply different hybrid normal techniques to the corresponding projects. The purpose of our research and summary of mixed normal technology is to find the most suitable choice for mainstream workflows based on objective reality. We summarized the hybrid normal mapping technology and experimentally obtained the advantages and disadvantages of different technologies, so that practitioners can choose to apply different hybrid normal mapping technologies to corresponding projects in a reasonable manner.

  • With progress in emerging new media technology and associated device, there is growing interest in a new type of contents in the filed of children education. In this research, we developed a edutainment content for enhancing sociability and visual perception of children exploiting kinect. Recreating what is visually perceived with physical movement is adopted to develop visual perception. It is also designed such that one's sociability can be enhanced through experiencing natural physical contact and collaboration while interacting with the developed content. The prototype of the content was created through development of character to boost interest, a short animation for storytelling, and interactive programming. In the second pilot test which was done with the content improved through the first pilot test, it was observed that children easily played with it and actively participated in experiencing it. From this observation, it is expected that the developed content may work as a promising edutainment content which fosters children to enhance visual perception and sociability through natural interaction.

  • This paper suggests a collision techniques for a higher reality in augmented reality by processing collision between a real object obtained through video frame input and a marker-based virtual object or a virtual object from Opengl. Augmented reality system is providing the visual information containing a virtual object added to the real environment and interactive interface between objects and between user and objects becomes a more concerning interest. But the collision problem is essential to the interactive interface and has to be solved first. Therefore, the proposed system suggests a solution for it to increase the realism and the immersion by validating the collision among a marker-based object, a virtual object from Opengl, and a real object obtained through web camera, that is, video frame.
