Self-Reported Recovery from 2-Week 12-Hour Shift Work Schedules: A 14-Day Follow-Up

  • Background: Recovery from fatigue is important in maintaining night workers' health. This study compared the course of self-reported recovery after 2-week 12-hour schedules consisting of either night shifts or swing shifts (i.e., 7 night shifts followed by 7 day shifts) to such schedules consisting of only day work. Methods: Sixty-one male offshore employees-20 night workers, 16 swing shift workers, and 25 day workers-rated six questions on fatigue (sleep quality, feeling rested, physical and mental fatigue, and energy levels; scale 1-11) for 14 days after an offshore tour. After the two night-work schedules, differences on the $1^{st}$ day (main effects) and differences during the follow-up (interaction effects) were compared to day work with generalized estimating equations analysis. Results: After adjustment for confounders, significant main effects were found for sleep quality for night workers (1.41, 95% confidence interval 1.05-1.89) and swing shift workers (1.42, 95% confidence interval 1.03-1.94) when compared to day workers; their interaction terms were not statistically significant. For the remaining fatigue outcomes, no statistically significant main or interaction effects were found. Conclusion: After 2-week 12-hour night and swing shifts, only the course for sleep quality differed from that of day work. Sleep quality was poorer for night and swing shift workers on the $1^{st}$ day off and remained poorer for the 14-day follow-up. This showed that while working at night had no effect on feeling rested, tiredness, and energy levels, it had a relatively long-lasting effect on sleep quality.

농촌마을의 환경특성과 노인들의 사회적 상호작용에 대한 사례연구 (The Ecological Characteristics of the Communities and Social Interactions of the Elderly in rural Korea)

  • As the proportion of the elderly population in rural Korea has increased rapidly, the quality of life of the rural elderly has become a major public and policy concern. In this regards, most of the researches on rural elderly have focused mainly on the 'risk factors or problems' of rural areas, ignoring the 'positive or protective aspects' of rural community on the quality of life of elderly. This study attempts to explore the possible positive influence of rural community on the quality of life of elderly and to examine the linkage among ecological characteristics of the communities, social interaction and quality of life of rural elderly. To achieve this goal, a community case study was conducted in four Korean rural villages. The data were collected using participant observation method and in-depth interviews (person-to-person, group interviews). All the interviews were tape-recorded and transcribed verbatim for the analysis. The data was analyzed using the reflective qualitative analytic technique. The major findings of this study are as follows : All of the four villages have strong community ties and provide contexts which make it possible for older people to share their everyday life with neighbors and to actively participate as a community member. Although the four villages were geographically not far from each other, the pattern of social interaction and the nature of everyday-life of the elderly were nevertheless different depending on the ecological environment of each community, the relationship history among the community members, and the shared experience of historical events in recent Korean history. Elderly men have smaller networks and have less frequent contact with community members than elderly women. The political and practical implications of this study are discussed.

온라인 플랫폼 의류제품의 구매 만족도 및 재구매 의도 (Purchase satisfaction and repurchase intention with clothing products on online platforms)

  • This study analyzed differences in the purchase satisfaction and repurchase intention of customers who buy clothing products from online platforms. The participants were teenage individuals to those in their 50s residing in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongsangnam-do. The data were examined via factor analysis, a t-test, Analysis of variance(ANOVA), Duncan's multiple range test, two-way ANOVA, and linear regression analysis. The factors for satisfaction with clothing products from online platforms were wearing comfort and quality, design, and price and purchase convenience. The findings revealed that purchase satisfaction based on these factors significantly varied among the participants depending on marital status, age, and occupation. Satisfaction with wearing comfort, quality, and design differed by gender. Satisfaction with wearing comfort, quality, and price and purchase convenience varied by type of purchase and type of online platforms. The interaction effects among the variables that affected purchase satisfaction were as follows. The interaction effects among the variables for wearing comfort and quality showed significant interactions between gender and type of purchase and between occupation and type of online platforms. Those for design showed significant interactions between marital status and age, between age and occupation, and so on. The interaction effects for price and purchase convenience showed significant interactions between marital status and gender and between age and occupation. The results on repurchase intention showed significant differences in such intention by marital status, age, and occupation. Repurchase intention was influenced by wearing comfort and quality, price and purchase convenience, design, and age.

인천항 배후단지 서비스의 고객행동의도 결정요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Determinants of Customers' Behavioral Intention of Incheon Port Hinterland Service)

  • 본 연구는 선행연구와 전문가 인터뷰를 통하여 배후단지의 서비스품질 차원을 구성하는 주요속성들을 추출하고, 이 속성들을 토대로 배후단지 서비스품질 차원과 만족, 전환장벽, 고객행동간에 어떠한 인과관계가 있는지를 파악하여 전략적인 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구결과 인천항의 배후단지 서비스품질은 '상호작용품질', '물리적환경품질', '서비스전달품질'의 3차원으로 구분됨을 확인하였고, 이들 3차원중 '상호작용품질'을 제외한 '물리적 환경품질' 및 '서비스전달품질'이 만족에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 한정된 경영자원으로 배후단지 서비스품질을 향상시키려 할 때 어떠한 차원의 품질을 관리해야 할 것인지에 관한 방향을 제시하고 있으며, 이를 통해 고객들에 대한 보다 전략적인 마케팅 활동이 가능해질 것으로 보인다.

Analysis of Preferences and Reality for Teacher-Student Interaction in Secondary School Science Classroom

  • This study was conducted for the purpose of analyzing the teachers' and students' preferences and reality with regard to their interaction in secondary school science classes. The subjects of this study were 180 teachers and 1,389 students. The contents of the questionnaire for the teachers included the quality of the personal relationships between the teachers and students as well as the teachers' recognition of teaching activities, and the questionnaire for the students dealt with the quality of the personal relationships between the teachers and students as well as the students' perceptions of their classes. The questionnaire responses were divided into preferences and reality for the research. The results are as follows. First, the levels of the teachers' and students' perceptions of their interaction were significantly lower (p<0.05) compared to their preferences with regard to such. Second, the female teachers showed higher levels of preferences and reality compared to the male teachers in the case of the teacher variables, and the middle school teachers showed higher levels of preferences and reality compared to the high school teachers. Third, the male students showed a higher perception level compared to the female students, and both the preferences and reality levels of the middle school students were significantly higher (p<0.05) than those of the high school students. In addition, the level of interaction was lower in big cities than in small cities. Fourth, there was a significant difference between the levels of the teachers' and students' preferences and reality with regard to their interaction.

A study on the influence of interaction of virtual reality consumption pattern on consumers' purchase intention under the background of VR technology

  • 본 연구의 목적은 VR 기술을 토대로 하는 가상현실 소비 패턴의 상호작용 및 소비자의 구매 의도에 미치는 영향을 연구하고자 하는 것입니다. 본 연구의 3개 독립변수는 콘텐츠 상호 작용, 기능적 상호 작용, 서비스 상호 작용이고 2개의 매개 변수는 지각된 품질과 지각된 가치이며 이들과 소비자의 구매 의도 간의 관계를 분석하고자 한다. 연구 과정에서는 SPSS24.0 및 AMOS24.0 소프트웨어를 사용하였으며, 신뢰성과 타당성 분석, 그리고 구조 방정식 모델을 통해 가설 검증을 수행하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면 14개의 가설이 모두 성립되며 VR 기술의 지각된 가치가 소비자의 구매 의도에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다. 또한 분석을 통해 지각된 가치가 매개 효과가 있는 것으로 확인할 수 있다.

어린이집 재원시간에 따른 유아의 일상적 스트레스와 어린이집 질적수준의 중재효과 (The Effect of Hours in Child Care Centers on Children's Daily Stress and the Moderating Effects of Child Care Quality)

  • 본 연구에서는 유아의 어린이집 재원시간과 어린이집의 질적 수준이 유아의 일상적 스트레스에 미치는 영향과 어린이집 질적 수준의 일상적 스트레스 중재효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 어린이집 10개소와 그곳에 재원중인 만 3세부터 만 5세까지 유아 380명을 대상으로 질적 수준 평가 및 일상적 스트레스 검사를 하였고, 결과 분석을 위해 일원변량분석, 중다회귀분석, 조절적회귀분석, 이원변량분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 유아의 일상적 스트레스는 하루 재원시간이 7시간 이하인 유아보다 하루 9시간 이상인 유아의 경우가 더 높았다. 어린이집의 질적 수준에 따라서는 공간 및 설비, 일상적 양육, 언어추론, 상호작용, 활동, 프로그램 구성, 부모 및 교직원의 7가지 변인 중, 교사와 유아의 상호작용 수준이 낮을수록, 부모와 교직원의 협조 및 전문성 수준이 높을수록 유아의 일상적 스트레스가 높았다. 어린이집의 질적 수준 중 하루 9시간 이상 장시간 재원하는 유아의 일상적 스트레스를 중재하는 변인은 언어추론, 상호작용, 부모와 교직원 변인이었는데, 구체적으로 언어추론 활동이 활발하고 교사와 유아간의 상호작용이 긍정적이며 부모와 교직원의 협조 및 전문성 수준이 높았을 때 유아의 일상적 스트레스가 감소하는 중재효과가 있었다.

학술정보 웹 서비스 만족도 향상을 위한 영향 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Factors Affecting Web Academic Information Service Quality)

  • To determine factors affecting scholarly web database service quality, this research is to investigate factors of web academic information service quality, and analyze how these factors influencing on web academic information service quality satisfactions. As a results, three dimensions were identified namely, information retrieval, ease of use and interaction. The scholarly web database service management has more critical problems than information service in these days. It indicates that the qualitative aspect is becoming more important than quantitative in web academic information service management.

가족 지지와 삶의 질이 남자 관상동맥질환자의 금연에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Family Support and Quality of Life in Relation to Smoking Cessation in Male Patient with Coronary Artery Disease)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify effects of family support and quality of life on smoking cessation in patients with coronary artery disease. Method: Data were collected using a self-reported questionnaire included smoking history, family support and quality of life (QOL). The participants were 159 male patient with coronary artery disease who were current smokers or ex-smokers. A logistic model was developed to estimate the likelihood of current smoker or ex-smoker. Results: Of the participants, 28.3% were current smokers and 71.7% were ex-smokers. The mean score for family support was 27.41 for positive support and 23.11 for negative support. The mean score for QOL was 50.48. There were significant differences in QOL according to smoking status. The predictors of smoking cessation were social interaction QOL and self-control QOL, and duration of smoking. The model correctly classified 89.5% of ex-smokers and 44.4% of current smokers and the correct classification for the total was 76.8%. Conclusion: Social interaction QOL, self-control QOL and duration of smoking were significant variables in prediction of smoking cessation. QOL should be considered in developing smoking cessation interventions. It is advisable to also examine the mediating effect of family support on quality of life.

A Study on Service Quality Evaluation Model and Priority of Quality Factors in Customer Center

  • 고객센터 서비스품질에 대한 다양한 연구에도 불구하고, 평가모형에 대한 연구보다는 고객만족과 충성도와의 관계를 살펴본 논문들이 주를 이루고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기존 연구들에서 다루어진 고객센터 서비스품질 요인들을 고찰하고, Brady and Cronin(2001)의 모형에 기초하여 고객센터 서비스품질을 측정하기 위한 위계적 모형을 개발하였다. 제1계층은 상호작용(과정)품질, 물리적환경(시스템)품질, 결과품질로 구성하였고, 제2계층은 친절성, 적극성, 전문성, 체계성, 편리성, 접근성, 정확성, 신속성, 신뢰성으로 구성하였다. 또한 개발된 위계적 모형을 바탕으로 고객센터 이용자들이 중요시하는 각 요인들의 우선순위를 AHP 기법을 적용하여 파악해 보았다. 연구결과 제1계층에서는 상호작용품질이 제2계층에서는 전문성, 친절성, 정확성이 우선순위에서 중요하게 나타났다. 이러한 연구는 고객센터 서비스품질에 대한 평가기준의 설정이나 실무에서 좀 더 중요하게 관리해야 되는 것이 무엇인지에 대한 지침이 될 수 있다.
