Tsunami take away life, wash houses away and bring devastation to social infrastructures such as breakwaters, bridges and ports. The coastal structure targeted object in this study can be damaged mainly by the wave pressure together with foundation ground failure due to scouring and liquefaction. The increase of excess pore water pressure composed of oscillatory and residual components may reduce effective stress and, consequently, the seabed may liquefy. If liquefaction occurs in the seabed, the structure may sink, overturn, and eventually increase the failure potential. In this study, the bore was generated using the water level difference, its propagation and interaction with a vertical revetment analyzed by applying 2D-NIT(Two-Dimensional Numerical Irregular wave Tank) model, and the dynamic wave pressure acting on the seabed and the surface boundary of the vertical revetment estimated by this model. Simulation results were used as input data in a finite element computer program(FLIP) for elasto-plastic seabed response. The time and spatial variations in excess pore water pressure ratio, effective stress path, seabed deformation, structure displacement and liquefaction potential in the seabed were estimated. From the results of the analysis, the stability of the vertical revetment was evaluated.

This study was conducted to provide basic data to understand the interaction patterns of dual-income parents' happiness by confirming the effect of work-family reconciliation recognized by dual-income parents on parental happiness. The subjects of the study were 630 pairs of dual-income parents out of 1462 pairs of parents who participated in both the main questionnaire and in the mother and father questionnaires in the 8th Panel Study on Korean Children (2015), and they were analyzed based on the Actor and Partner Interdependence Model (APIM). The results of this study show that the gain and strain of parents' work-family reconciliation had an actor effect on parents' happiness, and the gain and strain of father work-family reconciliation had a partner effect on mother's happiness. This study was meaningful in that it provides basic data on intervention and program development that could increase the happiness of dual-income parents. In order to increase the happiness of dual-income parents, it is necessary to provide intervention and education. In the future, we propose a study to confirm changes in influencing factors of parents' happiness according to time.

This study is the basic study for improving the range of influence and potency of mixing bars in the chamber of Shield TBM. Currently, there are many studies on disk cutters, cutter bits and segments in the study of the domestic Shield TBM. However, studies that mix soil and rocks that come from the membrane during the Shield TBM excavation and scatter them with screw conveyors are not as good as those abroad. In this study, the existing Shield TBM Chamber was manufactured as a miniature and the experiment. Inside the chamber, different sizes (4 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm) and colors (black, white, red, and blue) were used to form layers. This experiment was carried out by different shapes and sizes of RPM and mixing bars. In addition, the difference between a miniature model and a reclining one was checked to determine the effect of the direction of gravity on the mixing efficiency. This was done in the same way for all other conditions other than differences in the direction of gravity. Through this experiment, we identified the orientation of the chamber model, the size and shape of the mixing bar inside, and the mixing effect and torque depending on RPM. A comparative review of the mixing effect and torque confirmed that the shape and size of the mixing bar affect the mixing of samples, and that the direction of gravity affects torque.
Purpose - Most studies related to emotional labor have been conducted in the low-contact service industry rather than the high-contact service industry. Since the subjects of this study were golf service assistants, working in an industry in which the interaction and contact between customers and employees are considerable and the degree of customization is high, this study is significant. Thus, we would like to focus on the relationship between the humor style of golf service assistants and emotional labor. Humor style was divided into two styles-adaptive humor and maladaptive humor. Emotional labor was divided into two dimensions-surface acting and deep acting. In addition, we identify the relationship between emotional labor, job satisfaction, and turnover intention. Research design, data, & methodology - This study focuses on the humor styles in the golf service industry, among golf service assistants, on their emotion labor, and verifies the relationship between emotion labor and work satisfaction or job turnover intention. Based on the outcome, a total of four hypotheses were set up. To verify the hypotheses, surveys were conducted on the golf service assistants working in two golf fields in the region of Busan as well as its neighboring area. A total of 250 copies of the questionnaire were distributed. Subsequently, a total of 227 valid questionnaire copies, after excluding improper responses, were used in the analysis. After verifying the reliability and feasibility of variances, Amos 18.0 was used to implement the structure method so as to verify the study hypotheses. As a result of this analysis, the suitability of the entire model was considerably appropriate to the standard value, and the level is adequate to accommodate the study model completely. Results - First, it was found that the adaptive humor of golf service assistants had a positive effect on deep acting and maladaptive humor had a positive effect on surface acting. Second, It was found that employees' satisfaction with their job was reduced through surface acting, and those employees who experienced positive emotional labor in the form of deep acting were more satisfied with their job. Third, surface acting among employees increased turnover intention, but deep acting reduced it. Finally, the relationship between job satisfaction and the turnover intention of golf service assistants in the golf service industry was examined. Conclusions - First, the adaptive humor of the golf assistants in the golf service industry had a positive effect on their expression behavior. Second, deep acting increased their job satisfaction while their surface acting had a noticeably negative effect on their job satisfaction. Third, the surface acting of the emotion labor dimensions that the golf service assistants experience increases their turnover intention while their deep acting decreases their turnover intention. Finally, when analyzing the relationship between job satisfaction and turnover intention of the golf service assistants, it was found that the turnover intention decreased when their job satisfaction is increased.
This paper presents results of dynamic analysis for a bridge in intersection part of two tunnels subjected to moving vehicle load. Since such a bridge system is very unusual due to the fact that it is located in tunnel, the dynamic characteristics of the structure can not be assumed as conventional one. The structure investigated in this study it a reinforced concrete bridge in the intersection part of Namsan Tunnel-1 and Tunnel-2 in Seoul. It is supported by temporary steel structure which shall be constructed during the period of replacing lining in Tunnel-2. Dynamic analysis was carried out for the system using a finite element model constructed by general purpose FE program SAP2000. For this purpose, the structure, lining of tunnels, and surrounding rock were represented by finite elements, while the rock region it truncated and on its outer boundary viscous dampers were placed to simulate radiation of elastic waves generated tunnels. Several types of vehicle with various driving velocities were considered in this analysis. The FE model including vehicle loadings was verified by comparing calculated peak particle velocity with the measured one. From the analysis, the impart factor for the bridge was estimated as 0.21, which indicates that the use of upper bound for the impact factor in design code is reasonable for this kind of bridge system.
This study explores the process within which whereas the majority of Korean people agree on the principle of the unification policy, the opinions about the concrete policy alternatives related to the principle do not converge. To account for this phenomenon, a.k.a. 'the principle-policy puzzle in public opinion', this study constructs and tests a covariance structural model with the explanatory variables such as political knowledge, political ideology, authoritarian personality, social distance, and the evaluation of the president. In addition, the interaction effects of the interpretive frames regarding the unification policy and political knowledge along with the main effects of socio-demographic variables are tested to explain the degree to which people show the gap between the agreements on the unification principle and policy alternatives. A sample of 600 Seoul people are recruited to provide the data for the analysis of structural equation modeling. Ie was found that the proposed model receives empirical supports from the data. In particular, political knowledge and authoritarian personality play key roles in accounting for the complex process of public opinion in the 'principle-policy puzzle'. The findings were discussed in terms of the representations of the Engagement policy in the mass media and the public perception of them.

Evapotranspiration (ET) from the various surfaces needs to be understood because it is a crucial hydrological factor to grasp interaction between the land surface and the atmosphere. A traditional way of estimating it, which is calculating it empirically using lysimeter and pan evaporation observations, has a limitation that the measurements represent only point values. However, these measurements cannot describe ET because it is easily affected by outer circumstances. Thus, remote sensing technology was applied to estimate spatial distribution of ET. In this study, we estimated major components of energy balance method (i.e. net radiation flux, soil heat flux, sensible heat flux, and latent heat flux) and ET as a map using Mapping Evapo-Transpiration with Internalized Calibration (METRIC) satellite-based image processing model. This model was run using Landsat imagery of Gyeongan watershed in Korea on Feb 1, 2003 and Sep 13, 2006. Basic statistical analyses were also conducted. The estimated mean daily ETs had respectively 22% and 11% of errors with pan evaporation data acquired from the Suwon Weather Station. This result represented similar distribution compared with previous studies and confirmed that the METRIC algorithm had high reliability in the watershed. In addition, ET distribution of each land use type was separately examined. As a result, it was identified that vegetation density had dominant impacts on distribution of ET. Seasonally, ET in a growing season represented significantly higher than in a dormant season due to more active transpiration. The ET maps will be useful to analyze how ET behaves along with the circumstantial conditions; land cover classification, vegetation density, elevation, topography.
The regulation of flowering time has crucial implications for plant fitness. MicroRNA156 (miR156) represses the floral transition in Arabidopsis thaliana, but the mechanisms regulating its transcription remain unclear. Here, we show that two AGAMOUS-like proteins, AGL15 and AGL18, act as positive regulators of the expression of MIR156. Small RNA northern blot analysis revealed a significant decrease in the levels of mature miR156 in agl15 agl18 double mutants, but not in the single mutants, suggesting that AGL15 and AGL18 co-regulate miR156 expression. Histochemical analysis further indicated that the double mutants showed a reduction in MIR156 promoter strength. The double mutants also showed reduced abundance of pri-miR156a and pri-miR156c, two of the primary transcripts from MIR156 genes. Electrophoretic mobility shift assays demonstrated that AGL15 directly associated with the CArG motifs in the MIR156a/c promoters. AGL18 did not show binding affinity to the CArG motifs, but pull-down and yeast two-hybrid assays showed that AGL18 forms a heterodimer with AGL15. GFP reporter assays and bimolecular fluorescence complementation (BiFC) showed that AGL15 and AGL18 co-localize in the nucleus and confirmed their in vivo interaction. Overexpression of miR156 did not affect the levels of AGL15 and AGL18 transcripts. Taking these data together, we present a model for the transcriptional regulation of MIR156. In this model, AGL15 and AGL18 may form a complex along with other proteins, and bind to the CArG motifs of the promoters of MIR156 to activate the MIR156 expression.

Reinforced and prestressed concrete (RC and PC) thin walls are crucial to the safety and serviceability of structures subjected to shear. The shear strengths of elements in walls depend strongly on the softening of concrete struts in the principal compression direction due to the principal tension in the perpendicular direction. The past three decades have seen a rapid development of knowledge in shear of reinforced concrete structures. Various rational models have been proposed that are based on the smeared-crack concept and can satisfy Navier's three principles of mechanics of materials (i.e., stress equilibrium, strain compatibility and constitutive laws). The Cyclic Softened Membrane Model (CSMM) is one such rational model developed at the University of Houston, which is being efficiently used to predict the behavior of RC/PC structures critical in shear. CSMM for RC has already been implemented into finite element framework of OpenSees (Fenves 2005) to come up with a finite element program called Simulation of Reinforced Concrete Structures (SRCS) (Zhong 2005, Mo et al. 2008). CSMM for PC is being currently implemented into SRCS to make the program applicable to reinforced as well as prestressed concrete. The generalized program is called Simulation of Concrete Structures (SCS). In this paper, the CSMM for RC/PC in material scale is first introduced. Basically, the constitutive relationships of the materials, including uniaxial constitutive relationship of concrete, uniaxial constitutive relationships of reinforcements embedded in concrete and constitutive relationship of concrete in shear, are determined by testing RC/PC full-scale panels in a Universal Panel Tester available at the University of Houston. The formulation in element scale is then derived, including equilibrium and compatibility equations, relationship between biaxial strains and uniaxial strains, material stiffness matrix and RC plane stress element. Finally the formulated results with RC/PC plane stress elements are implemented in structure scale into a finite element program based on the framework of OpenSees to predict the structural behavior of RC/PC thin-walled structures subjected to earthquake-type loading. The accuracy of the multiscale modeling technique is validated by comparing the simulated responses of RC shear walls subjected to reversed cyclic loading and shake table excitations with test data. The response of a post tensioned precast column under reversed cyclic loads has also been simulated to check the accuracy of SCS which is currently under development. This multiscale modeling technique greatly improves the simulation capability of RC thin-walled structures available to researchers and engineers.

As the importance of big data analysis increases to improve the competitiveness of a corporate, a unified big data project development methodology is required in order to study the problem of a corporate in a systematic way and evaluate the problem w.r.t. a business value after solving the problem. This paper propose Scientific Data Anslysis and Development methodology(SDAD) which are integrated methodology of software development and project management for easier application into a field project. SDAD consisits of 6 stages(problem definition stage, data preparation stage, model design stage, model development stage, result extraction stage, service development state), each stages has detailed processes(47) and productions(93). SDAD, furthermore, unified previous ISP, DW, SW development methodologies in terms of the data analysis and can easily interchange the productions with them. This paper, lastly, introduces a way to assign responsible persons for each process and provide communication procedures in RACI chart to improves the efficiency of the interaction among professionals from different subjects. SDAD is applied to a Bigdata project in Korea Employment Information Services institution and the result turned out to be acceptable when evaluated by the supervision.
