창의적 공간설계를 위한 Geodesign Interface 연구 (A Study on a Geodesign Interface for Creative Spatial Design)

  • Dangermond(2009)에 의해 GIS의 다음 패러다임으로서 제시된 Geodesign은 공간계획 및 설계의 바탕이 된다. 또한 고재용(2015)은 공간정보를 기초로 하여 진행되는 조경설계의 관점에서 Geodesign 방법론을 제시하였다. 그러나 그의 방법론은 효율성 향상을 위한 연구인 반면 Geodesign의 한계점이자 공간설계의 핵심인 '창의성 지원'은 다루지 못하였다. 이러한 문제점을 보완하기 위해서는 공간설계의 관점에서 전 과정에 대한 정보를 효과적으로 다룰 수 있도록 지원하는 개념으로써 개념화를 통해 $7{\pm}2$ 개라는 인간의 인지능력의 한계를 극복해야 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 그러한 한계점을 극복하고자 조경설계 분야의 사용자에게 더 나은 경험을 제공하기 위해 인간의 인지능력한계 극복과 그것을 통한 창의성 향상을 목표로 연구를 진행하였다. 선행연구의 고찰을 통해 창의성 향상을 위한 방안을 도출하였으며, 이 방안을 바탕으로 창의적 공간설계의 지원이 가능한 Geodesign 방법론을 제시하였다. 제시된 방법론의 과정을 수행하기에 가장 적합하다고 판단된 ESRI사의 GeoPlanner for ArcGIS에 방법론을 적용하여 Interface 설계의 과정을 수행하였다. 먼저 스크립트를 작성하고 기능요소와 정보요소를 판단하여 Interaction을 도출하였고, 도출된 Interaction을 바탕으로 Interface 설계를 진행하였다. 창의성 향상이라는 것은 물리적으로 증명하기는 어려운 부분이다. 그러나 Interface 설계를 통해 잠재의식 속에 있던 새로운 질서를 찾아내어 개념화를 통한 창의적 지원이 가능하며, 순간적으로 떠오르는 아이디어를 놓치지 않고 표현하여 인지능력의 한계를 극복할 수 있는 환경을 제안하였다.

Effects of auditory feedback and task difficulty on the cognitive load and virtual presence in a virtual reality dental simulation

  • This research examined the difference in cognitive load and the virtual presence depending on auditory feedback and task difficulty in haptic-based dental simulation. In the field of dental education, practice-centered training using handpiece has been crucial because a practitioner's psychomotor experience has a significant impact on the mastery of treatment skills. For the novice, it is necessary to reduce errors in dental treatment to enhancing skill acquisition in the haptic practice. In the training process, the force-feedback is crucial to elaborate subtle movement to guide what to do and how it should be hard or soft. However, It is not easy to add force-feedback to generate kinetic experience training. As an alternative method, we examined that auditory feedback can help learners' skill training. In this study, we analyzed how the presence/absence of auditory feedback at the different levels of task difficulty impacts learners' psychological demand and virtual presence in the virtual reality simulation. For this study, 29 dental college students participated in a dental simulation. The participants were grouped into two conditions that are with and without auditory feedback. Additionally, two consecutive tooth preparation tasks with different levels of difficulty were used in the simulation. The auditory feedback condition gives alarms to a learner when he treats a non-targeted tooth with a virtual handpiece. The user's cognitive load and virtual presence were measured to examine the effects of auditory feedback. The results revealed that the main effect was found in cognitive loads. Also, a significant interaction effect was shown in the virtual presence. We discussed the effective design methods for the virtual reality-based dental simulation through the result of this study.

Moving to a Holistic Model of Health: The Need to Join Person and Environment for Persons with Mobility Disabilities

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the concepts of health among people with mobility disabilities in order to develop a new holistic model of health and to identify implications for social work practice. A qualitative study based on face-to-face interviews with people with mobility disabilities was conducted. Nine consumers and nine social workers with mobility disabilities participated in the study. Social constructionism, heuristic paradigm, empowerment paradigm, and strength perspectives were used to form conceptual foundations to guide the study. Study participants' holistic descriptions of the concept of health encompassed five domains: biological/physical, mental/emotional, financial, relationships with others, and spiritual. Participants described health as harmony among these five domains. Harmony indicates that all five domains contribute to the concept of health, and that each domain is related to the others. Participants also viewed disability and health as an interconnected whole, not separate concept. The conceptual model developed in this study expands on the existing concepts of health by considering multiple factors at the personal and environmental levels, as well as interactions among the factors and between the levels. The personal level has five domains: biological/physical, mental/emotional, spiritual, financial, and relationships with others. The environmental level has also five domains: relationship with others, financial, social programs, social attitudes toward peoplewith disabilities, and physical environment. All factors under the personal and environmental levels also affect each other. The holistic concept of health for people with disabilities is not solely a part of the person, but rather is a function of the interaction between the person and their environment. The study demonstrated that people with disabilities have strength and resiliency, and health is an attainable goal for them, particularly when environmental and cultural barriers are addressed. The focus of social work practice should be the removal of those barriers encountered by their consumers with disabilities, as well as, the enhancement of internal factors that facilitate well-being.

병렬 연결된 해상 크레인을 이용한 대형 중량물 인양 작업의 동적 거동 계산 시뮬레이션 (Dynamic Response Simulation of a Heavy Cargo Suspended by Parallel Connected Floating Cranes)

  • 본 연구에서는 병렬 연결된 해상 크레인을 이용하여 5,000ton 이상의 기가 블록급 대형 중량물을 인양할 때 해상 크레인과 대형 중량물 사이에 연결된 와이어 로프에 작용하는 장력을 계산하기 위해 다물체계 동역학 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 이를 위해, 해상 크레인, 바지선, 대형 중량물은 각각 6 자유도 운동을 하고, 이들 사이에는 서로간의 구속에 의한 연성을 가지도록 모델링 하였다. 또한 해상 크레인 및 바지선에 작용하는 외력으로 유체 정역학 힘과 유체 동역학 힘을 고려하였고, 각각의 물체에 독립적으로 작용한다고 가정하였다. 본 시뮬레이션 결과, 향후 해상크레인을 병렬 연결하여 대형 중량물을 인양하는 공법의 안정성을 확인하고 공학적인 지침을 마련할 수 있는 근간이 될 수 있으리라 예상한다.

광물 합성 공정의 관점에서 본 생광물화과정 및 생체모방공학 (Biomineralization and Biomimetics from the Point of Mineral Processing)

  • 자연에 존재하는 생명체들은 유기-무기 성분들이 포함된 미세구조로 이루어진 계층학적으로 복잡한유-무기 나노 복합재를 합성한다. 자연에서 진행되는 유기-무기 나노복합재의 생성 및 재생 과정은 생광물화과정으로서 생물학적 환경에서 진행되는 생광물화과정의 연구는 신물질 합성에 대한 단서를 제공할 뿐만 아니라 산업적으로 중요한공정의 개발에 있어 귀중한 지침으로 활용될 수 있다. 연체동물 역시 생광물화과정을 수행하는 다른 생명체들과 마찬가지로 단백질과 다당류로 이루이진 유기매트릭스와 무기물의 상호작용을 통하여 패각을 설계하고 합성한다. 본 고찰에서는 이매패류의 패각 형성 과정 연구를 기반으로 아울러 생광물화과정 연구를 기반으로 한 소재합성과 관련된 생체모방공학 기술을 고찰하였다.

Process Performance Feedback and Quality Goal Setting as Sources of Process Restrictiveness and Behavior Guidance in Electronic Brainstorming

  • Purpose Through the provision of real time performance information about who is contributing and who is not in Electronic Brainstorming, prior studies evidenced a significant performance gain. However, it has been observed that the quantity-based performance feedback alone does not have enough restrictiveness to guide the performance behavior throughout the idea generation session. We included the notion of goal setting into the process performance feedback mechanism in an effort to regulate performance behavior and to better understand why individuals in Electronic Brainstorming are not obtaining enough stimulation benefits in the group interaction process. Design/methodology/approach We had developed real-time visual process performance feedback and modified to include goal setting. This mechanism visually displays individuals' performances two-dimensionally (quality for each idea vertically and quantity of ideas horizontally along with their goals). As individuals' contributions accumulate, the mechanism reveals performance histories by connecting the sequence of ideas in a time-series format, telling stories of individuals' performances. Then, we compared the performance outcome from this study with the outcomes from two prior studies (i.e., Jung et al., 2010 and Jung, 2014). Findings The results showed that the inclusion of goal setting into the process performance feedback solved the issue in the previous study. That was the lower than expected magnitude of performance enhancement of process performance feedback when compared to that of quantity-based feedback. It appears that goals as a motivational technique provide standards for systematic self-evaluation, serving as a cue to regulate performance behavior by strengthening the linkage between effort and performance. Thus, goals seem to set up a self-fulfilling prophecy, preconditioning better performance. However, the outcome still showed that its performance magnitude is unsatisfactory because the outcome of this study turned out to be close to the outcome of just quantity-based performance feedback in Jung et al.'s (2010) study.

Presence련와 관련된 요인 분석 (Factor analysis of Presence)

  • This study is a research of conceptual development to find the factors of presence. The concept and the definition of presence received from literary review. On the basis of these findings, we formulate the contents of presence through structured interview guide composed of open-ended questionnaire which included the frequency, attitude, and posture. We selected 104 samples who are the patients, doctors, nurses, and other health providers. And then the contents of presence were established after integrating the formulated contents and putting them in order. The categorizing of the presence was made after discussing with specialist in this field. By using the selected contents, we made 25 statements of presence which were categorized into three factors. The results were as follows: 1. The definition of presence is being with at the same time and space, making attention with openness, and the therapeutic interaction with empathy. 2. The contents of presence through personal interviews are The time required is 5 minutes(46.15%), 2-3 minutes(34.61%), and 10 minutes (15.38%) respectively. The frequency of visiting is 3 times(39.20%), every time(23.07%), and more than 5 times(20.19%) respectively. \circled2 In case of being with nurse is having pain(39.42%), suffering trouble or severe fear(9.61%), feeling discomfort(8.65%), taking care of wound(7.69%), and other unfavorable symptoms(6.73%) respectively. \circled3 The posture being with nurse is depends on the situations(63.46%), sitting(26.92%), and standing(9.61%) respectively. Eye contact with nurse is face to face(78.84%), depends on the situations(20.19%), and not face to face(0.96%) respectively. \circled4 The attitudes of comfort are explaining about disease(23.07%), holding on hands (14.42%), touching on the suffering parts (11.53%), and unconditionally being with(7.69%) respectively. \circled5 Nurses' caring actions are kindness (27.88%), replying to the question (12.50%), smiling(10.57%), bright appearances (8.65%), and right and quick treatment(8.65%) respectively. \circled6 The effects of being with are peaceful mind(58.65%), quick recovery(13.46%), and decrease in fear(12.50%) respectively. \circled7 The attitudes of being with are listening (11.53%), recognition(8.65%), talking about discomfort(8.65%), and answering kindly (7.69%) respectively. 3. From the analysis of presence factors, 25 statements and 3 categorized factors are presented.

돌발 상황 하의 사용자 반응을 고려한 자동차 중앙 계기판 버튼의 최적 배치 방안 연구 (A Study on Optimal Layout of Control Buttons on Center Fascia Considering Human Performance under Emergency Situations)

  • Many studies on safety issues of human-machine interaction are being conducted, especially taking emergency situations into consideration. In light of this view, the importance of objective and reliable measurement of users' reactions under emergency situations is becoming more important than ever in reflecting such issues in the design of everyday things. However, despite the need to consider the human-machine interactions and human performances at the design stage, there were few studies which considered human performances and behaviors under emergency situations. This study is about an evaluation method and design guide to include such human performances under emergency situations during human-machine interactions. This is achieved through an experiment where operators are instructed to press the emergency button at an experimentally designed location under a random emergency situation. By analyzing the results in a human factors perspective, the response time and the accuracy of the operators' behaviors are explained. Analysis revealed that in designing the center fascia for automobiles, there is a tradeoff between response time and accuracy, and the optimal size of buttons differ in each part of the center fascia. This method is expected to be applicable to industrial situations to derive optimal position for emergency buttons.

국내 초.중등학교의 포트폴리오 활용 실태 분석에 기반한 e-포트폴리오 설계 방향에 관한 연구 (A Study on Design Direction of e-Portfolio Based on the Current State Analysis of Portfolio Application of Domestic Elementary, Middle, and High School)

  • 포트폴리오는 구성주의 학습을 지원하는 한 방법으로 사용될 수 있다. 현재 교육 현장에서 포트폴리오의 사용이 점차 확대되고 있으나, 현장 적용의 실태나 발전적 활용 방안에 대한 연구는 미약한 편이다. 본 논문에서는 전국의 초 중등학교 재직 교사를 대상으로 포트폴리오 운영에 대한 실증적 자료를 분석하며, 이를 기반으로 지식정보화 사회에 필요한 e-포트폴리오의 설계 방향을 제안한다. 포트폴리오에 대한 이해도, 유형별 운영 현황 분석 결과에 따르면 학교급에 따른 차별화된 시스템 설계와 고경력자에 대한 연수 확대, '안내도우미' 기능 구비를 필요로 한다. 포트폴리오 작성을 위해 많은 시간을 소요하고 일회적, 형식적 수행 평가의 일환으로 운영되는 문제점을 개선하기 위해 학습과 평가를 하나의 과정에서 통합하는 시스템의 설계가 필요하다. 더불어 상호작용 및 자기 주도적 학습을 효과적으로 지원하는 e-포트폴리오의 설계가 요구된다.

사물인터넷 기반 건강관리 스마트 주얼리 시스템 (Smart Jewelry System for Health Management based on IoT)

  • 센서를 활용한 IoT 디바이스의 사용이 증가함에 따라 센서 기반의 상황 인식을 통한 융복합형 다기능 스마트 주얼리를 개발하였다. 현재 시장에서 공급되는 평범하고 단순한 디자인의 패션 주얼리에 사용자와의 상호작용을 고려한 스마트한 기능과 디자인을 추가였고 본 논문 에서는 스마트 주얼리에서 착장된 센서에서 개인의 생활습관 정보 데이터를 입력받아 네트워크와 연동하고 건강관리 기능을 추가하였다. IoT 기반의 스마트 주얼리 센서가 발생시키는 데이터를 신속하게 관리할 수 있도록 온톨로지로 모델링하고 건강 정보를 서비스 할 수 있도록 스마트 주얼리 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 스마트 앱을 통해 서비스의 상태를 표시된다. 앱은 맞춤형 서비스 사용자에게 위험을 결정하여 질환에 관한 가이드라인을 제공한다.
