대륙철도 연결 및 기존선 고속화를 위한 CTCS 개발 (A Development on CTCS for the Inter-linkage of Trans-Continental Railways and Speed-up on Existing Lines)

  • Railway is an important transportation tool for nation's industrial development and public daily life. These days the concern about railway has remarkably been rising due to the April 2004 opening of KTX, Korea High Speed Rail, together with Trans-Continental Railways linking North Korea, China, Russia, through European countries. In the meantime, the issues of train safety and efficiency, arising from the different on-board signaling systems installed on different kinds of trains, have been raised incessantly. In this paper CTCS(Continental Train Control System) is suggested, which can accommodate such various signaling functions as ATP, ATC, ATS, etc. into one single type of on-board signaling system and operate without changing ground signaling systems on the junctions of the Trans-Continental Railways. The development of this CTCS would cause speed-up of exiting lines and possession of railway core solutions for establishing Northeast Asia logistics center bases, which could be an important cornerstone for domestic railway improvements and Korea's role of Northeast Hub.

이용자 요구를 중심으로 한 관점의 사이버 철도

  • 외국에서는 정보통신 기술에 의하여 주도되는 차세대 철도의 개념(concept)을 만드는 검토작업이 진행되고 있다. 이 개념을 사이버 철도(cybernetics rail)라고 칭하며, 그 검토에서는 "복수의 모드(mode)가 유기적으로 제휴한 인터 모들(inter-modal) 수송의 중핵을 철도가 담당하기 위해서는 무엇이 필요한가'를 중심 명제로서 의식하고 있다. 이 글에서는 "인터 모들'과 "이용자 요구(demand)"를 키워드로 하여 외국에서 진행되고 있는 사이버 철도의 검토 내용을 소개한다.   • Tilting trains are now an established feature of railway operations throughout the world. For intercity traffic, tilt provides operators with increasing speeds, and therefore enhanced competitiveness, on existing routes where insufficient traffic or a lack of funds precludes the construction of a dedicated new high-speed railway. This paper explains the reduction effects of journey time with the Korean tilting train. The Korean Tilting Train express (TTX) project has been carried out to develop alt the core technologies related to tilting train and infra-technology to provide high speed inter-city service with the speed of 180 km/h as well as maintenance-free technology for conventional railway system. In order to simulate we considered 5 conventional railway. As a results of simulation, we found out the tilting train has very high efficiency(reduction rate 20-30%).

남북철도 선로분야 상호운영성 구축를 위한 철도통신정책 제안 (Railway Communication Policy Proposal for Interoperability Implementation of Railroad Line on North-South Korean Railway)

  • 2018년 9월 19일 남북정상의 평양공동선언에서 남북한은 철도 및 도로연결을 추진하기로 합의하였고, 이에 따라 2018년 12월 북한철도 현대화 사업을 위한 남북한 공동조사를 착수하였다. 조사 결과 선로상태는 운행이 불가할 정도로 심각하게 노후화되어 있고, 철도망은 주요도시를 잘 연결하는 구조로 되어 있는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 새로운 철도망을 건설하기 보다는 기존 철도망의 노후화된 선로를 현대화하는 것이 타당하다고 판단되었다. 본 논문은 남북철도 연결에 대비한 상호운용성 및 철도사고 예방을 위한 안전성 강화를 위하여 노반과 궤도의 현황 분석을 통한 단계별 철도선로 개선 그리고 철도무선통신망 구축을 위한 철도통신분야 정책을 제안하였다.

  • This paper describes the result of proficiency testing by inter-laboratory comparisons for braking lining. Proficiency testing provides an objective means of assessing and demonstrating the validity and reliability of test results produced by laboratories. To more accuracy comparison test for braking lining test, they will be made the same test procedure and environment conditions.

  • The inter-coach spacing is one of the most important sources of the aero-acoustic noise of a high-speed train. When fluid at high speed flows over an open cavity, such as the inter-coach spacing, large acoustic pressure fields inside the cavity are produced by fluid/structure interactions at the downstream end of the cavity. In this study experiments were performed to investigate the characteristics the aero-acoustic noise generation from the inter-coach spacing of a high-speed train. Results of the measurement confirmed that the noise generated from the gap between mud-flaps are strongly dependent on the size of the gap.

  • As a railway is receiving attention as an environment-friendly transportation mode, many high speed, inter-city and urban railway are constructed and remodeled in the world. With this trend, railway RAMS was included in the international standard IEC 62278 in 2002. RAMS activity in domestic market is also increased with this international trend. However, IEC 62278 does not describe the methodology of substantial contents like how reliability target is set although it can be used as an overall guideline when RAMS requirements are included in the purchase specification. That is because RAMS requirements should be set with the specific railway condition. It is required to fully understand the meaning of railway RAMS parameters and apply those correspond to the specific railway system and environment condition especially when a quantitative RAMS requirement is set. In this study, the meaning and characteristics of RAMS parameters applicable to the development of quantitative RAMS requirement of rolling stock is described. And the basic concept of RAMS and the definition of failure that IEC 62278 describes is modified and suggested in order to make more suitable to the development of quantitative RAMS requirement.

남북철도 직결운행을 위한 상호운용성 고찰 (A Study on Interoperability for North-South Korean Railway Direct Connection)

  • 2018년 4월 27일 역사적인 남북 정상의 판문점 선언을 통해 남과 북은 철도연결을 위한 실질적인 대책들을 마련해 나가기로 합의하였다. 상상이 현실이 되어 당장이라도 부산-유럽 간의 열차가 운행될 것처럼 연일 보도하고 있지만 남한에서 출발한 열차가 북한 철도로 직결 운행하고 대륙철도로 국경을 통과하는 운영노선은 지금까지 한국철도가 취급해보지 못한 미지의 영역으로 본격적인 운행을 위해 상당한 부분을 면밀히 검토해야 한다. 또한 철도교통은 타 교통수단과 달리 종합적인 네트워크 시스템으로 서로 다른 철도망의 직결운행을 위한 표준화와 기술적 조화가 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 남북철도 연결대비 직결운행을 위해 철도 상호운용성에서 주도적인 역할을 하고 있는 유럽사례를 살펴보고, 이를 통하여 남북철도 직결운행을 위한 실질적인 상호운용성 확보에 대하여 고찰하였다.

A Comparative Analysis of Evaluation Methodologies for Railway Investments of China and Korea

  • Economic evaluation methodologies for railway investments of China and Korea are comparatively analyzed. Chinese procedures specified in the new economic evaluation manual of 1997 were compared with those of Korea based on the economic evaluation manual of 1982. As expected those procedures reflect general economic requirements of the respective countries. Several differences in the specification are also noted. Details of the specification of Chinese procedure far exceed Korean specification, while Korean manual is rich of explanation on the fundamental theory. Differences in the procedure of calculating benefits of investments are most conspicuous, and specific requirements of carrying out a optimum opening year analysis in Korean procedure is notable. Despite of these differences in the procedure, two methodologies share same objective of ensuring selection of economically and financially sound railway projects. Both procedures of China and Korea, however, limit their evaluation scope on railways alone. Therefore, they are needed to expand scope of evaluation to encompass the idea of multi-modal or inter-modal evaluation, which will eventually contribute to build truly efficient national comprehensive transportation system.

철도차량의 곡선부 스킬 소음에 대한 속도의 영향 (Influence of the Speeds on the Curve Squeal Noise of Railway Vehicles)

  • Curve squealing of inter-city railway vehicle is a noise with high acoustic pressure and rather narrow frequency spectra. This noise turns out to be very annoying for the people living in the neighborhood of locations and the passenger in railway vehicle where this phenomenon occurs. Squealing is caused by a self-exited stick-slip oscillation in the wheel-rail contact. Curve squeal noise of railway vehicles that passed by a factor of the speed limit, so to overcome in order to improve running performance is one of the largest technology. In the present paper, characteristic of squeal noise behavior at the Hanvit-200 tilting train test-site. Curve squealing of railway wheels/rail contact occurs in R400~ R800 curves with a frequency range of about 4~11 kHz. If the curve is less than the radius of wheel frail contact due to |left-right| noise level difference (dBA) shows a significant effect of squeal noise were more likely.
