Structural members commonly employed in marine and off-shore structures are usually fabricated from plates and shells. Collision of this class of structures is usually modeled as plate and shell structures subjected to dynamic impact loading. The understanding of the dynamic response and energy transmission of the structures subjected to low velocity impact is useful for the efficient design of this type of structures. The transmissions of transient energy flow and dynamic transient response of these structures under low velocity impact are presented in the paper. The structural intensity approach is adopted to study the elastic transient dynamic characteristics of the plate structures under low velocity impact. The nine-node degenerated shell elements are adopted to model both the target and impactor in the dynamic impact response analysis. The structural intensity streamline representation is introduced to interpret energy flow paths for transient dynamic response of the structures. Numerical results, including contact force and transient energy flow vectors as well as structural intensity stream lines, demonstrate the efficiency of the present approach and attenuating impact effects on this type of structures.

The use of anti-corrosive oil (AC) is inevitable for production of industrial steels to prevent corrosion. The AC is degreased before application of steels, which crucially effects on final products, such as automobile, electricity etc. However, qualitative/quantitative evaluation of degreasing performance are steal insufficient. In this study, degreasing performance of anti-corrosive oil on steel have been studied through X-ray photon spectroscopy (XPS) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Commercial automotive steels (AMS) are coated with 4 different anti-corrosive oils (namely AC1-AC4). In XPS, intensity of C1s peak remained after degreasing indirectly indicates incomplete degreasing. Thus, higher C1s peak intensity means less effective degreasing by degreasing agent. peak intensity of C1s peak shows opposite tendency of peak intensity of O1s. We found that EIS analysis is not applicable to mild steel (such as AMS1) due to corrosion during measurement. However, alloy steel can be fully analyzed by EIS and XPS depth profile.
We are currently living in the era of the wide field cosmological surveys, either spectroscopic such as Dark Energy Spectrograph Instrument or photometric such as the Dark Energy Survey or the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope. By analyzing the distribution of matter clustering, we can use the growth of structure, in combination with measurements of the expansion of the Universe, to understand dark energy or to test different models of gravity. But we also live in the era of multi-tracer or multi-messenger astrophysics. In particular, during the next decades radio surveys will map the matter distribution at higher redshifts. Like in optical surveys, there are radio imaging surveys such as continuum radio surveys such as the ongoing EMU or spectroscopic by measuring the hydrogen 21cm line. However, we can also use intensity mapping as a low resolution spectroscopic technique in which we use the intensity given by the emission from neutral hydrogen from patches of the sky, at different redshifts. By cross-correlating this maps with galaxy catalogues we can improve our constraints on cosmological parameters and to understand better how neutral hydrogen populates different types of galaxies and haloes. Creating realistic mock intensity mapping catalogues is necessary to optimize the future analysis of data. I will present the mock neutral hydrogen catalogues that we are developing, using the Horizon run 4 simulations, to cross-correlate with mock galaxy catalogues from low redshift surveys and I will show the preliminary results from the first mock catalogues.

In this paper, the design stress intensity values for the plate-type fuel assembly for research reactor are presented. Through a tensile test, the material properties of the cladding (aluminum alloy 6061) and structural material (aluminum alloy 6061-T6), in this case the yield and ultimate tensile strengths, Young's modulus and the elongation, are measured with the temperatures. The empirical equations of the material properties with respect to the temperature are presented. The cladding undergoes several heat treatments and hardening processes during the fabrication process. Cladding strengths are reduced compared to those of the raw material during annealing. Up to a temperature of 150 ℃, the strengths of the cladding do not significantly decrease due to the dislocations generated from the cold work. However, over 150 ℃, the mechanical strengths begin to decrease, mainly due to recrystallization, dislocation recovery and precipitate growth. Taking into account the uncertainty of the 95% probability and 95% confidence level, the design stress intensities of the cladding and structural materials are established. The presented design stress intensity values become the basis of the stress design criteria for a safety analysis of plate-type fuels.
Water disinfection using UV-LED(Light emitting diode) has many advantages, such as smaller footprint and power consumption as well as relatively longer lifespan than those of conventional mercury-UV lamps. Moreover, UV-LED disinfection is considered an environmentally benign process due to its mercury-free nature. In this study, disinfection using an LED module emitting 275nm UV was carried out. 384 UV-LEDs were put into a cylinder tube with a capacity of 1.7 liters. The UV intensity of the UV-LED module was controlled from 1.7 to 8.4 mW/cm2. The disinfection efficiency for the model microorganism solutions(E. coli ) was monitored. As the UV intensity(I) and contact time(t) varied, inactivation of the microorganisms from 2 to 4-log-removals(i.e., 99 to 99.99% of disinfection efficiency) was achieved. Disinfection using UV-LED was followed to 1st order reaction and the reaction rate constant, k was determined. In addition, the relationship between UV intensity(I) and contact time(t) in order to obtain 99.99% of disinfection efficiency was modeled: I1.2·t= 460, which indicates that the product of UV intensity and contact time requiring 4-log-removals is always constant.

LiDAR, one of the most important sensing methods used in mobile robots and cars with assistive/autonomous driving functions, is used to locate surrounding obstacles or to build maps. For real-time path generation, the detection of potholes or puddles on the driving surface is crucial. To achieve this, we used the coordinates of the reflection points provided by LiDAR as well as the intensity information to classify water areas, which was achieved by applying a linear regression method to the intensity distribution. The rationale for using the LiDAR index as an input variable for linear regression is presented, and we demonstrated that it is not affected by errors in the distance measurement value. Because of LiDAR vertical scanning, if the reflective surface is not uniform, it is divided into different groups according to the intensity distribution, and a mathematical basis for this is presented. Through experiments in an outdoor driving area, we could distinguish between flat ground, potholes, and puddles, and kinematic analysis was performed to calculate the maximum width that could be crossed for a given vehicle body size and wheel radius.
Purpose: Although microwave diathermy is widely employed, research conducted in South Korea indicates a lack of theoretical understanding concerning the appropriate application intensity. Consequently, there is a need to enhance the objectivity of microwave diathermy by conducting quantitative studies to determine its effective application intensity and provide suitable application parameters. Methods: The study was performed on 60 participants, divided equally into 40W or 80W microwave diathermy intervention groups. Microwave diathermy was applied at 2,450MHz to iliocostalis and longissimus muscles for 15 minutes in each group. Ranges of motion were compared before and after intervention using straight leg raise (SLR) test results. The analysis was performed using the paired t-test and the independent t-test. Results: SLR angles increased significantly in both groups after intervention, but the 80W group exhibited a greater post-intervention angle increase. While no significant intergroup difference was observed between pre-intervention angles, post-intervention angles were significantly different. Conclusion: The study confirms that microwave diathermy treatment at 40W for 15 minutes effectively increases SLR angles but that treatment at 80W has a greater effect. Further research is warranted to establish quantitatively the optimal time and intensity settings for microwave diathermy.
The scale and operating conditions of logistical systems very sensitively varies according to the variation of traffic intensity that is affected by the arrival characteristics of trucks and the attributes of loading/unloading services in logistics facilities. More exactly, logistics costs are incurred according to variations of traffic intensity. which are intimately linked with in a given time period. Also. although traffic intensity changes minutely, the range of cost variation is wide. Nevertheless, with regard to operating logistics systems, the existing studies make no attempt to analyze these factors. Therefore, it was the purpose of this study to determine the optimal traffic intensity to minimize excessive logistics costs resulting from the generation of unnecessary costs such as waiting costs and overcosts in operating a facility. For the purposes of this analysis. a determination model of optimal traffic intensity was constructed according to queuing theory. The inflow/outflow conditions of trucks and the terminal operational conditions were collected from an off-dock container terminal in Busan. On the basis of this data. the optimal traffic intensity that could off-set excessive waiting and operating costs was determined quantitatively. Also. using the optimal traffic intensity to be determined. we consider the improvements of operating system in the logistics facilities.

This experiment was carried out using artificial clay and LED in the plastic film house (irradiation time: 08:00~18:00/day). Seedlings (n = 63 per $3.3m^2$) of ginseng was planted on May 17, 2018. LED was combined with red and blue light in a 3:1 ratio and irradiated with different light intensity. The average air temperature from April to September was $12.3^{\circ}C$$-26.0^{\circ}C$ and it was the the highest at $26.0^{\circ}C$ in August. The test area where fluorescent lamp was irradiated tended to be somewhat higher than the LED irradiation area. The chemical properties of the test soil are as follows. pH levels was 5.3~5.5, EC levels 0.45~0.52 dS/m and OM levels 33~37%. The total nitrogen content was 0.35~0.47% and the available $P_2O_5$ contents was 13.7~16.0 mg/kg, which was lower than the suitable level of 70~200 mg/kg. Exchangeable cations K and Mg contents were within acceptable ranges, but the Ca contents was $28{\sim}38cmol^+/kg$ levels higher than the permissible level ($2{\sim}6cmol^+/kg$). Germination of ginseng leaves took 8~9 days and the overall germination rate was 70~75%. The photometric characteristics of LED light intensity are as follows. The greater the light intensity, the higher the PAR (Photosynthetic Action Radiation) value, illuminance and solar irradiation. Photosynthetic rate was also increased with higher light intensity was investigated at $1.7{\sim}3.2{\mu}mol\;CO_2/m^2/s$. Leaf temperature ($23.7{\sim}24.8^{\circ}C$) by light intensity was the same trend. The growth of aerial parts (plant height etc.) were generally excellent when irradiated with 3 times the light intensity, the growth of the ginseng aerial parts were excellent as follows. The plant height was 42.6 cm, stem length was 25.2 cm, leaf length was 9.6 cm and stem diameter was 5.0 mm. The growth of underground part (root length etc.) was the same, and the root length was 24.4 cm, the tap root length was 6.0 cm, diameter of taproot was 18.2 mm and the fresh root weight was 17.2 g. There were no disease incidence such as Alternaria blight, Gray mold and Anthracnose. Disease of Damping off occurred 2.2~3.6% and incidence ratio of rusty root ginseng was 14.6~20.7%. Leaf discoloration rate was 13.7~48.9% and increased with increasing light intensity. Ginsenoside content of ginseng by light intensity is under analysis.

In this study, the applicability and reproducibility of LIBS in the analysis of chloride penetration in the mortar section were investigated. Standard analysis (IC, potentiometric titration) and LIBS analysis were simultaneously performed on the accelerated and immersed mortar by chloride concentration. Through LIBS analysis after making an eluate at the same depth for each concentration, the signal intensity of chloride ions was confirmed according to the depth and concentration at the wavelength of 837.59 nm, and a correlation between the LIBS signal intensity and the chloride concentration was confirmed. Although it is an aqueous solution-based LIBS analysis, the applicability and reproducibility of LIBS were confirmed not only for the incorporation of chloride but also for the amount of permeated chloride.
