A study on the estimation performance for Dedicated Short Range Communication(DSRC) system in 5.8GHz (5.8GHz 단거리 전용 통신(DSRC) 시스템 성능평가 및 분석)

  • In this paper, we investigated performance for 5.8GHz Dedicated Short Range Communication(DSRC) packet communication system which will be applied to domestic Intelligent Transportation System(ITS) services and analyzed modulation technique and interference cancellation method to improve performance in physical layer. We presented the most suitable DSRC uplink protocol to apply to multiple access protocol for DSRC system. Finally, we presented channel model to estimate performance between Roadside Unit(RSU) and Onborad Unit(OBE), and showed their validity through the result of numerical analysis.

  • Railway intelligent transportation systems and related Ministry of Land and rail operating agency's railway informatization planning of information technology, effective through the use of management strategies to establish or run to support the systematic informatization investment that you want to execute work in progress, during and yet the institutional informatization of operations mainly in the form of efficiency is Chinhae. In this paper, the details of the plan goals, promoting convenient rail-based real-time information, to promote optimal gohyoeuleul railways, railway safety and comfort, was defined as three. Selection of each goal, because the direction of vision and ITS around the railroad center of road users by highlighting the benefits of the railroad's traffic information center user switching, real-time delivery of information diversity (enhanced content) that can increase the capacity of line train operating systems, enhancing the safety management system introduced in the monitoring system and is a railroad crossing. Because urban railway project in accordance with the goal of decreasing the annual rate of the train support, and the average passenger wait time savings, increased future demand for railway, rail safety, including securing the expected effects may occur.

  • Recently active research for ITS(Intelligent Transportation System) helps to build for next generation traffic information system at information society. Build the system for sensing a vehicle speed and traffic information on the road. Provide collected data to driver, flow of overall traffic impacts have a good influence. In this study, research for building the platform and development algorithm that provided from other source processing real-time traffic data provides a more reliable real-time traffic data.

Analysis of the Transport Characteristics of Bulk Cargo in Freight Stations Located Behind Trade Ports (무역항 배후 화물철도역의 벌크화물 운송특성 분석)

  • The present study analyzed the railway transport characteristics of bulk cargo flowing in and out of trade ports in South Korea. Bulk cargo transport in freight stations located behind trade ports was examined using actual flow data, and new implications were drawn accordingly. The results showed that bulk cargo volume in freight stations located behind trade ports is gradually decreasing, and it is also failing to secure a competitive edge against road transport. This downfall can be mainly attributed to the decrease in competitiveness of railway transport as well as the emergence of new trade ports that do not have lead-in track for port. Therefore, greater effort is required to strengthen the connection between new trade ports and railway freight stations.

  • The present study aims to evaluate transfer resistance factors in railway stations and draw new implications. The data used for the model estimation are RP (revealed preference) data and SP (stated preference) data. Two types of models were used for the analysis: integration model which combined line-haul stage, transfer stage and shuttle stage and separation model which assessed the three stages separately. The results revealed that while bulk freight shippers mainly focused on line-haul stage, they put emphasis on transfer stage as well. It's especially notable that transfer stage was considered more important than shuttle stage. Therefore, in future transportation policies concerning rail freight, it would be crucial not only to enhance the competitiveness of line-haul stage but also make improvements in transfer stage regarding railway stations.

  • This paper presents the driving and bouncing control of a robotic vehicle for entertainment and transportation. The robotic vehicle is aimed to carry two passengers with a balancing mechanism by two wheels. To maximize the entertaining purpose, not only the balancing control performance but the bouncing control performance is implemented. Passengers can select different driving modes such as regular driving mode, balancing mode, and bouncing mode. Experimental studies of the balancing control performance as well as the bouncing control performance are conducted to see the feasibility as an entertainment robotic vehicle.

  • Power transformers are an important factor for power transmission and cause fatal losses if faults occur. Various diagnostic methods have been applied to predict the failure and to identify the cause of the failure. Typical diagnostic methods include the IEC diagnostic method, the Duval diagnostic method, the Rogers diagnostic method, and the Doernenburg diagnostic method using the ratio of the main gas. However, each diagnostic method has a disadvantage in that it can't diagnose the state of the power transformer unless the gas ratio is within the defined range. In order to solve these problems, we propose a diagnosis method using ELM based intelligent algorithm and fuzzy membership function. The final diagnosis is performed by multiplying the result of diagnosis in the four diagnostic methods (IEC, Duval, Rogers, and Doernenburg) by the fuzzy membership values. To show its effectiveness, the proposed fault diagnostic system has been intensively tested with the dissolved gases acquired from various power transformers.

Traffic Collision Detection at Intersections based on Motion Vector and Staying Period of Vehicles (차량의 움직임 벡터와 체류시간 기반의 교차로 추돌 검출)

  • Recently, intelligent transportation system based on image processing has been developed. In this paper, we propose a collision detection algorithm based on the analysis of motion vectors and the staying periods of vehicles in intersections. Objects in the region of interest are extracted from the subtraction image between background images based on Gaussian mixture model and input images. Collisions and traffic jams are detected by analysing measured motion vectors of vehicles and their staying periods in intersections. Experiments are performed on video sequences actually recoded at intersections. Correct detection rate and false alarm rate are 85.7% and 7.7%, respectively.

  • Recently, the intelligent transportation system (ITS) that provides driver convenience and reduces the number of road casualties is in the spotlight. ITS must quickly deal with the emergency situation and provide information which drivers need. In ITS, a different channel will be assigned for each service to provide the service efficiently. However, if the channel is used at an emergency situation, the service cannot be provided immediately. For overcome this problem, we introduce the cognitive radio technology into ITS and propose a new spectrum sensing method in this paper.

  • Many physical systems can be modeled by incorporating continuous and discrete event nature together. Such hybrid systems contain both continuous and discrete states that influence the dynamic be-havior of the systems. There has been an increasing interest in thers types of systems during the last dec-ade, mostly due to the growing usage of computers in the control of physical plants but also as a result of the hybrid nature of physical processes. The stability theory for hybrid systems is considered as extension of Lyapunov theory where the existence of an abstract energy function satisfying certain properties verifies stability, called multiple Lyapunov theory. In this paper, a hybrid stabilizing controller is proposed using the control Lyapunov function method and multiple Lyapunov theory, and the proposed method is applied to lon-gitudinal spacing control in a vehicle platoon for intelligent transportation systems(ITS).
