초소형 공작기계 적용을 고려한 광학식 3 축 공구원점 센서 모델링 및 실험에 관한 연구 (Study on Modeling and Experiment of Optical Three Axis Tool-Origin Sensor for Applications of Micro Machine-Tools)

  • One of the traditional optical methods to monitor a tool is a CCD sensor-based vision system which captures an aspect of the tool in real time. In the case using the CCD sensor, specific lens-modules are necessary to monitor the tool with higher resolution than its pixel size, and a microprocessor is required to attain desired data from captured images. Thus theses additional devices make the entire measurement system complex. Another method is to use a pair of an optical source and a detector per measuring axis. Since the method is based on the intensity modulation, the structure of the measurement system is simper than the CCD sensor-based vision system. However, in the case measuring the three dimensional position of the tool, it is difficult to apply to micro machine-tools because there may not be space to integrate three pairs of an optical source and a detector. In this paper, in order to develop a tool-origin measurement system which is employed in micro machine-tools, the improved method to measure a tool origin in x, y and z axes is introduced. The method is based on the intensity modulation and employs one pair of an optical source radiating divergent beams and a quadrant photodiode to detect a three dimensional position of the tool. This paper presents the measurement models of the proposed tool-origin sensor. The models were verified experimentally The verification results show that the proposed method is possible and the induced models are available for design.

  • The manufacturing equipment on most shop floors consists of numerical control machines, and the condition of each piece of equipment is monitored and controlled by an internal sensor or programmable logic controller (PLC). To control and monitor production lines that consist of an equipment or production module, a separate control and monitoring system such as a manufacturing execution system should be introduced. However, there is no standardized system, and it is costly and difficult to build a system for small or medium-sized plants. In this paper, a PLC-based supervisory system for operation control of a group of production machines is proposed, and the developed PLC-based system is evaluated by applying it to a computer numerical control machine.

  • The today's decision making tasks in globalized business and manufacturing become more complex, and ill-defined, and typically multiaspect or multi-discipline due to many influencing factors. The requirement of obtaining fast and reliable decision solutions further complicates the task. Intelligent decision support system (DSS) currently exhibit wide spread applications in business and manufacturing because of its ability to treat ill-structuredness and vagueness associated with complex decision making problems. For multi-dimensional decision problems, generally an optimum single DSS can be developed. However, with an increasing number of influencing dimensions, increasing number of their factors and relationships, complexity of such a system exponentially grows. As a result, software development and maintenance of an optimum DSS becomes cumbersome and is often practically unfeasible for real situations. This paper presents a technically feasible approximation of an optimum DSS through decreasing its complexity by a modular structure. It consists of multiple DSSs, each of which contains the homogenous knowledge's, decision making tools and possibly expertise's pertaining to a certain decision making dimension. Simple, efficient and practical integration mechanism is introduced for integrating the individual DSSs within the proposed overall DSS architecture.

  • We present a system to measure 3-dimensional coordinates of huge structures like ships, buildings and oil tanks. Two important units are a laser spot projector and a laser spot tracker. Employing a tactful image processing, our system has some features :e.g. compactness, cost, accuracy and robustness to hazardous emvironments.

  • In silicon wafer manufacturing process, the grinding process has been adopted to improve the flatness of wafer. The grinding of wafer is usually used by the infeed grinding machine. The infeed grinding machine has been depended on imports. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the infeed grinding machine because the demand of the infeed grinding machine is increasing more and more. This paper describes the technologies of infeed grinding machine and intend to introduce the studies in the development of the intelligent grinding system for grinding of wafer. The air bearing spindle for the infeed grinding machine was developed by domestic technologies and the grinding part design of the intelligent grinding system for wafer grinding was completed.

  • Interactive Measuring part Program Generating Tools (IMPPGT) realized on the FANUC 15MA using touch trigger probes and interactive macro functions os the CNC were developed for an intelligent measuring and inspection systems on the machine tools. Menu driven measuring and inspection functions of the IMPPGT were studied and implemented on the CNC through the macro executer and ROM writer. In order to automate measurement and inspection procedures in machine shops measuring G Code system was also proposed. Using the developed measuring G Code system on the machine tool untended measurement and inspection operation was able to be realized in FMS lines.

  • Manufacturing process generally exhibits major or minor variations due to deviation of raw materials, equipment degradation, controller malfunction, and so on. Extensive research based on multivariate statistical process control has been done to monitor the unstable states and indicate a corrective action. A prototype of intelligent operation support system ("ISYS-MSPC") has been developed as a tool that supports the enhanced operation to guarantee the high productivity and a uniform high quality product. This system has been applied to the industrial batch and continuous processes and its performance has been validated .

  • 본 논문에서는 소량 다품종 생산에서 FMS(Flexible Manufactturing System)의 공정제어를 위한 지능형 제어기를 설계하였다. 설계된 제어기는 최적화 기법과 경험적 생산 규칙을 통합하여 가공품의 적재 및 흐름이 제어되고 선정된 성능 평가 기준 지표를 최대로 만족할 수 있도록 한다. 최적화 기법에 의해 구현되는 제어 기능은 생산시스템의 가공용량을 초과하지 않는 범위내에서 가공품의 순시생산율을 계산한다. 생산규칙 구성에 따르는 경험적 제어를 위하여 지식베이스가 형성되고 순시생산율 및 현재의 공정 정보를 기반으로 최종 대안이 선정된다. 이 경우 지식 베이스에는 대안 심사, 결정수립 기준, 그리고 가공품의 흐름제어에 관한 규칙들을 대상으로, 그리고 데이타베이스는 공정 정보 관리, 수정 침 저장을 대상으로 각각 구축된다. 공정 정보를 이용하여 생산계획의 진행 상황을 도시하게 되는 글래픽 시뮬레이션이 수행되며, 설계된 제어기의 성능평가는 컴퓨터 시물레이션을 통해 검토된다.

유연생산시스템의 효율적 운용을 위한 지능적 기법의 적용에 관한 연구 (Application of Intelligent Technique for the Efficient Operation of the Flexible Manufacturing System)

  • This research involves the development and evaluation of a work flow control model for a type of flexible manufacturing system(FMS) called a flexible flow line(FFL). The control model can be considered as a kind of hybrid intelligent model in that it utilizes both computer simulation and neural network technique. Training data sets were obtained using computer simulation of typical FFL states. And these data sets were used to train the neural network model. The model can easily incorporate particular aspects of a specific FFL such as limited buffer capacity and dispatching rules used. It also dynamically adapts to system uncertainty caused by such factors as machine breakdowns. Performance of the control model is shown to be superior to the random releasing method and the Minimal Part Set(MPS) heuristic in terms of machine utilization and work-in-process inventory level.
