Japanese Puzzle을 이용한 교통안전 표지판 인식 (A Recognition of Traffic Safety Signs Using Japanese Puzzle)

  • 본 논문에서는 게임에 사용되는 원리를 역으로 이용하여 교통안전 표지판을 인식하는 시스템을 구현하였다. 본 시스템에 사용된 게임은 제작자가 (x, y)좌표에 제공하는 수치를 보고 메쉬에 표시하면 제작자가 의도한 임의의 물체의 모형이 표현되는 게임이다. 입력된 영상으로부터 교통안전 표지판 영상을 분리한 후, 표지판을 구성하는 색상과 형태에 상기의 퍼즐게임을 이용하여 교통안전 표지판으로 인식되면 해당 표지판과 내용을 문자로 출력하는 시스템을 구현하였으며 흑백 영상 처리 및 세선화과정 없는 인식으로 처리 속도가 빠르며, 기존 시스템 보다 좋은 인식률을 얻을 수 있었다.

템플릿 정합과 B-Spline 보간에 의한 3차원 광학 영상 처리 (3D Image Process by Template Matching and B-Spline Interpolations)

  • 본 논문에서는 비젼을 이용한 영상처리 기술을 기반으로 비접촉식 미세 측정 광학기에 의해 측정된 이미지를 템플릿 매칭과 B-Spline 보간법에 의해 보다 빠르고, 정밀한 복원 기법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 먼저 각각의 이미지로부터 매칭 템플릿과 피 매칭 템플릿을 검출한다. 그런 다음 기준면으로부터 두 이미지의 중첩되는 부분의 롤, 피치, 요 오차를 보정하여 정합시킨다. 그리고 B-Spline 보간법에 의해 정합된 부분을 연속화한다. 마지막으로, 제안된 방법은 실험을 통해 그 응용 가능성을 증명한다.

Robust Digital Image Watermarking Algorithm Using RBF Neural Networks in DWT domain

  • This paper proposes a new watermarking scheme in which a logo watermark is embedded into the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) domain of the original image using exact radial basis function neural networks (RBF). RBF will learn the characteristics of the image, and then watermark is embedded and extracted by the trained RBF. A watermark is added to the coefficients at the low frequency band of the DWT of an image and a watermark is embedded into the DWT domain using the trained RBF. The trained RBF also used in watermark extracting process. Experimental results show that the proposed method has good imperceptibility and high robustness to common image processing attacks.

  • Flaw classification and sizing are very essential issues in quantitative ultrasonic nondestructive evaluation of various materials and structures including weldments. For performing of these tasks in an automated fashion, we are developing an intelligent ultrasonic evaluation system with a multi-axis portable scanner which can do consistent and efficient acquisition and processing of ultrasonic flaw signals. Here we present our efforts to develop of this intelligent system including design of the portable scanner, acquisition and processing of ultrasonic flaw signals, display of pseudo 3-D image of flaws, and classification and sizing of flaws in weldments.

Design and Experimental Demonstration of Coaxially Folded All-reflective Imaging System

  • With slimmer, lighter and all-reflective imaging systems in high demand for consumer and military applications, coaxially folded optical image systems are widely considered because they can extend focal length and reduce track length. Most of these systems consist of multiple surfaces, and these surfaces are machined on one element or grouping processing on two elements. In this paper, we report and first experimentally demonstrate an all-aluminum all-reflective optical system which consists of two optical elements, with two high order aspherical surfaces in each element. The coaxially folded system is designed with Seidel aberration theory and advanced optimization with Zemax. The system is made of all-aluminum material processing by single point diamond turning (SPDT). On this basis, we completed the system integration and performed an imaging experiment. The final system has the advantages of short track length and long focal length and broad application prospects in the micro-unmanned aerial vehicle field.

  • Face manipulation tools represented by Deepfake have threatened the security of people's biological identity information. Particularly, manipulation tools with deep learning technology have brought great challenges to Deepfake detection. There are many solutions for Deepfake detection based on traditional machine learning and advanced deep learning. However, those solutions of detectors almost have problems of poor performance when evaluated on different quality datasets. In this paper, for the sake of making high-quality Deepfake datasets, we provide a preprocessing method based on the image pixel matrix feature to eliminate similar images and the residual channel attention network (RCAN) to resize the scale of images. Significantly, we also describe a Deepfake detector named Cascaded-Hop which is based on the PixelHop++ system and the successive subspace learning (SSL) model. By feeding the preprocessed datasets, Cascaded-Hop achieves a good classification result on different manipulation types and multiple quality datasets. According to the experiment on FaceForensics++ and Celeb-DF, the AUC (area under curve) results of our proposed methods are comparable to the state-of-the-art models.

Character Extraction Algorithm from Scenery Images by Parallel and Local Processing

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm extracting character regions from scenery images. This algorithm works under a severe constraint: each pixel of a result image must be derived from only information of their neighbor pixels. This constraint is very important for a low cost device like a mobile camera. The proposed algorithm is represented by the local and parallel image processing. It has been tested for 100 scenery images. A result shows that the proposed algorithm can extract character regions at a rate of more than 90%. The result was obtained without learning any template images. the algorithm is very useful.

High-speed Fuzzy Inference System in Integrated GUI Environment

  • We propose an intgrated Gill environment system having only integer fuzzy operations in the consequent part and the defuzzification stage. In this paper, we also propose an integrated Gill environment system with 4 parallel fuzzy processing units to be operated in parallel on the classification of the sensed image data. In this, we solve the problems of taking longer times as the fuzzy real computations of [0, 1] by using the integer pixel conversion algorithm to convert lines of each fuzzy linguistic term to the closest integer pixels. This procedure is performed automatically in the GUI application program. As a Gill environment, PCI transmission, image data pre-processing, integer pixel mapping and fuzzy membership tuning are considered. This system can be operated in parallel manner for MIMO or MISO systems.

  • The detection of defective parts in a factory is usually performed by the human eye. Therefore, heavy manpower is in demand for minor enterprises. An image processing system is desired to solve this drawback. However, due to the variety of the products characteristics, an general algorithm is needed that can adapt to these characteristics. Therefore, in this paper, the key pad parts' characteristics which need to be dealt with are analyzed in order to embody the image processing algorithm that is suggested. The experimental results show the probability of detecting a defective part is 95% with a detection time of 0.203 seconds, on the average.

  • The integration of deburring robots into product quality and productivity impact the industrial. In this paper the intelligent system of robotic deburring is proposed integrated with robot system, image processing system, force sensor system and host PC. The size, position, recognition of burr is determined by the information that the image processing system processed. The feed velocity of cutting tool is controlled by the information that the force sensor system processed. The integration of these information can remove the uncertainty of the information of deburring on the cutting path. The result of these technologies is useful for the development of the factory automation and automatic inspection equipments.
