  • Owing to the need to establish a cooperative-intelligent transport system (C-ITS) environment in the transportation sector locally and abroad, various research and development efforts such as high-tech road infrastructure, connection technology between road components, and traffic information systems are currently underway. However, the current central control center-oriented information collection and provision service structure and the insufficient road infrastructure limit the realization of the C-ITS, which requires a diversity of traffic information, real-time data, advanced traffic safety management, and transportation convenience services. In this study, a network construction method based on the existing received signal strength indicator (RSSI) selected as a comparison target, and the experimental target and the proposed intelligent edge network compared and analyzed. The result of the analysis showed that the data transmission rate in the intelligent edge network was 97.48%, the data transmission time was 215 ms, and the recovery time of network failure was 49,983 ms.

  • 본 연구에서는 인터넷을 기반으로 하고 GIS(Geographical Information System)와 ITS(Intelligent Transportation System)제어 응용을 고려 한 컴퓨팅 플랫폼으로 EIMAS(Efficient and Intelligent Multi-Agent System)을 제안한다. GIS 와 관련 활용 시스템들은 개방형 지리 정보 처리 상호 운용 개념이 확산되면서 물리적으로 분산된 환경을 가지지게 되었고 이러한 분산 환경에서 프로그램개발과 사용자의 요구에 서비스를 효과적으로 제공하기 위하여, GIS와 이와 연계한 GI(Geographical Information) 활용시스템들의 각기 다른 구성 요소들을 통합하는 시스템이 요구된다. GIS 와 GIS Application으로 ITS(Intelligent Transportation System)위한 Java Mobile Agent와 Multiple Agent System 인 EIMAS를 플렛폼으로 제안한다. 이 시스템은 GIS 시스템과 ITS 시스템에 제공되는 Agent가 활동하는 플레이스 위에서 에이전트가 목적과 워크에 적합한 효율적인 워크플로우를 생성하여 시간 효율적이고 지능적인 분산. 병렬처리를 수행하는 플렛폼을 설계한다.

  • Next-generation ITS(Intelligent Transportation System) adopts WAVE(Wireless Access in Vehicular Environment) system which is capable of the bidirectional communication system in vehicular environments. u-Transportation system adopted WAVE communications system to show the optimal performance in terms of various services with regard to vehicle safety and traffic. In this paper, we introduce testbed of ubiquitous-Transportation system and its service. Then, we describe WAVE system for supporting next-generation ITS service. Also, we carried out tests in real road environments in order to verify communication functions of WAVE systems and its performance. We confirmed that our communication systems for supporting services meet the communication performance.

  • In this paper, 3 layered architecture model and related design guidelines are proposed, which have been actually applied in our national ITS-Architecture design. The domain architecture as the 1st layer is to structure all ITS related domains for maximizing the co-operability in national level. The logical architecture as the 2nd layer is to structure all ITS related application-systems for minimizing duplications, conflicts and dead-zones in service level and maximizing the co-operability in application-system level. The physical architecture as the 3rd layer is to structure all IT(Information Technology) related physical resources for maximizing.

Characteristics of Ship Movements in a Fairway

  • In a coastal area, all of the vessels are always exposed to the potential risk, taking into the maritime accident statistics account over the last decades. To manage vessels underway safety, the characteristics of ship movements in a fairway should be recognized by VTS system or VTS operators. The IMO has already mandated the shipboard carriage of AIS since 2004, as stated in SOLAS Chapter V Regulation 19. As a result, the static and dynamic information of AIS data has been collected for vessel traffic management in the coastal areas and used for VTS. This research proposes a simple algorithm of recognizing potentially risky ships by observing their trajectories on the fairway. The static and dynamic information of AIS data are collected and the curvature for the ship trajectory is surveyed. The proposed algorithm finds out the irregularity of ship movement. The algorithm effectively monitors the change of navigation pattern from the curvature analysis of ship trajectory. Our method improves VTS functions in an intelligent way by analyzing the navigation pattern of vessels underway.

  • Intelligent Transport Systems (Intelligent Transportation System: ITS) is a system for inducing a flow of ideal car for using the most advanced technology, it is determined the status of the road, and take appropriate action. In order to be measured at various time points, and is managed, the information about the traffic situation is used image using a computer mainly. The image processing using a computer, it is an easy way to collect parameters of the various traffic in real time, technology has developed more and more. Vehicle detection of transport parameters of intelligent transportation system is a very important technology basically. Therefore, technology detection method using car background images and the contour line extraction method using an edge is used, however, problems have been raised on the accuracy of the detection rate.

  • The important field of research on ship operation is related to the high efficiency of transportation, the convenience of maneuvering ships and the safety of navigation. As a way of practical application for a smart ship based on network system, this paper proposes the intelligent support system for ship steering control system based on TCP/IP and desires to testify the validity of the proposal by applying the fuzzy control model to the steering control system. As the specific study methods, the fuzzy inference was adopted to build the maneuvering models of steersman, and then the network system was implemented using the TCP/IP socket-based programming. Lastly, the miniature model steering control system combined with LIBL (Linguistic Instruction-based Learning) was designed to testify for its effectiveness.

  • Fuzzy-CBR Collision Avoidance Support System is a system that finds a solution from past knowledge retrieved from the database and adapted to a new situation. Its algorithm has resulted to an adapting a solution for a new situation. However, ontology is needed in identifying concepts, relations and instances that are involved in a situation in order to improve and facilitate the efficient retrieval of similar cases from the CBR database. This paper proposes the way to apply ontology for identifying the concepts involved in a new environment and use them as inputs, for a ship collision avoidance support system., Similarity will be obtained through document articulation and using abstraction levels. A conceptual model of a maneuvering situation will be built using these ontologies.

  • Intelligent transportation systems are one of the most important new forms of infrastructure on domestic roads, and is a system that makes possible the most efficient movement of vehicles on a road. The High Pass system, which is a domestic intelligent transportation system, started a little later than in other countries but developed at a rapid pace. With the recent introduction of smart tolling technology, it provided an opportunity to stop and review the tolling system. This study aims to investigate the driving method and results of LDCC for domestic smart towing through case study. Unlike other companies, Lotte Data Communication Company has long invested in payment systems. It has little experience investing in infrastructure, but participated in the Smart Toll System at the Gwangan Bridge in cooperation with the Busan City government, to lead the development of intelligent transportation systems. LDCC, which has made new investments, not only exceeded its existing core competencies, but also upgraded Korea's tolling system's ability to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improved its financial performance.
