  • Rotor of rotating machinery is the highly damaged part. Fault of 7 different types was confirmed as the main causes of rotor damage from the pump failure history data in domestic and U.S. nuclear. For each fault types, simulation testing was performed and fault signals were collected form the sensors. To calculate the statistical parameters of time-domain & frequency-domain, measured signals were analyzed by using the discrete wavelet transform, fast fourier transform, statistical analysis. Total 84 parameters were obtained. And Effectiveness factor were used to evaluate the discrimination capacity of each parameter. From the effectiveness factor, RAW-P4/RAW-P7/WT2-NNL/WT2-EE/WT1-P1 showed high ranking. Finally, these parameters were selected as the feature parameters of intelligent fault diagnostics for rotor.

  • With the launch of Artificial Intelligence(AI)-based intelligent products on the market, innovative changes are taking place not only in business but also in consumers' daily lives. Intelligent products have the potential to realize technology differentiation and increase market competitiveness through advanced functions of artificial intelligence. However, there is no new product development methodology that can sufficiently reflect the characteristics of artificial intelligence for the purpose of developing intelligent products with high market acceptance. This study proposes a KANO-QFD integrated model as a methodology for intelligent product development. As a specific example of the empirical analysis, the types of consumer requirements for hair loss prediction and treatment device were classified, and the relative importance and priority of engineering characteristics were derived to suggest the direction of intelligent medical product development. As a result of a survey of 130 consumers, accurate prediction of future hair loss progress, future hair loss and improved future after treatment realized and viewed on a smartphone, sophisticated design, and treatment using laser and LED combined light energy were realized as attractive quality factors among the KANO categories. As a result of the analysis based on House of Quality of QFD, learning data for hair loss diagnosis and prediction, micro camera resolution for scalp scan, hair loss type classification model, customized personal account management, and hair loss progress diagnosis model were derived. This study is significant in that it presented directions for the development of artificial intelligence-based intelligent medical product that were not previously preceded.

  • This paper deals with an intelligent digital ship which aims at development to support economic and safe services through an integration into the hierarchically layered digital signals such as ship's navigation, maneuvering and control signal and establishing a one-man bridge system in order to provide a support systems between ship and land station. This paper introduces the results of the mid-term project sponsored from Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy which consists of three sub-project such as INS(Intelligent Navigation System), AIS(Automatic Identification System), and IMIT (Integrated Maritime Information Technology). The INS system that can allow ships to navigate economically and safely through the integration and analysis of national data within the ship. AIS is a system that reports automatically on the location of the ship in order to prevent the collision between ships and between the ship and the land. IMIT is a integrated system for providing an efficient and economic support system between ships and the land and a ship-land platform and technologies.

  • Over the last few years, autonomous vehicles have progressed very rapidly. The odometry technique that estimates displacement from consecutive sensor inputs is an essential technique for autonomous driving. In this article, we propose a fast, robust, and accurate odometry technique. The proposed technique is light detection and ranging (LiDAR)-based direct odometry, which uses a spherical range image (SRI) that projects a three-dimensional point cloud onto a two-dimensional spherical image plane. Direct odometry is developed in a vision-based method, and a fast execution speed can be expected. However, applying LiDAR data is difficult because of the sparsity. To solve this problem, we propose an SRI generation method and mathematical analysis, two key point sampling methods using SRI to increase precision and robustness, and a fast optimization method. The proposed technique was tested with the KITTI dataset and real environments. Evaluation results yielded a translation error of 0.69%, a rotation error of 0.0031°/m in the KITTI training dataset, and an execution time of 17 ms. The results demonstrated high precision comparable with state-of-the-art and remarkably higher speed than conventional techniques.

  • We propose short packet communication in an underlay cognitive radio network assisted by an intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) composed of multiple reconfigurable reflectors. This scheme, called the IRS protocol, operates in only one time slot (TS) using the IRS. The IRS adjusts its phases to give zero received cumulative phase at the secondary destination, thereby enhancing the end-to-end signal-to-noise ratio. The transmitting power of the secondary source is optimized to simultaneously satisfy the multi-interference constraints, hardware limitations, and performance improvement. Simulation and analysis results of the average block error rates (BLERs) show that the performance can be enhanced by installing more reconfigurable reflectors, increasing the blocklength, lowering the number of required primary receivers, or sending fewer information bits. Moreover, the proposed IRS protocol always outperforms underlay relaying protocols using two TSs for data transmission, and achieves the best average BLER at identical transmission distances between the secondary source and secondary destination. The theoretical analyses are confirmed by Monte Carlo simulations.

  • Data mining techniques enable us to generate useful information for decision support from the data sources which are generated and accumulated in the process of routine organizational management activities. College administration system is a typical example that produces a warehouse of student records as each and every student enters a college and undertakes the curricular and extracurricular activities. So far, these data have been utilized to a very limited student service purposes, such as issuance of transcripts, graduation evaluation, GPA calculation, etc. In this paper, we utilized Holland career search test results, TOEIC score, course work list and GPA score as the input for data mining, and we were able to generate knowledge and rules with regard to the college road map advisory service. Factor analysis and AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) were the primary techniques deployed in the data mining process. Since these data mining techniques are very powerful in processing and discovering useful knowledge and information from large scale student databases, we can expect a highly sophisticated student advisory knowledge and services which may not be obtained from the human student advice experts.

  • Traffic volume data is basic information that is used in a wide variety of fields. Existing missing traffic volume data imputation method did not take the effect on the rainfall. This research analyzed considering of the rainfall effect in missing traffic volume data imputation method. In order to consider the effect of rainfall, established the following assumption. When missing of traffic volume data generated in rainy days it would be more accurate to use only the traffic volume data of the past rainy days. To confirm this assumption, compared for accuracy of imputed results at three kinds of imputation method(Unconditional Mean, Auto Regression, Expectation-Maximization Algorithm). The analysis results, the case on consideration of the rainfall effect was more low error occurred.

  • In this study, a time series analysis technique was applied to calibrate and predict traffic data for various purposes, such as planning, design, maintenance, and research. Existing algorithms have limitations in application to data such as traffic data because they show strong periodicity and seasonality or irregular data. To overcome and supplement these limitations, we applied the SARIMA model, an analytical technique that combines the autocorrelation model, the Seasonal Auto Regressive(SAR), and the seasonal Moving Average(SMA). According to the analysis, traffic volume prediction using the SARIMA(4,1,3)(4,0,3) 12 model, which is the optimal parameter combination, showed excellent performance of 85% on average. In addition to traffic data, this study is considered to be of great value in that it can contribute significantly to traffic correction and forecast improvement in the event of missing traffic data, and is also applicable to a variety of time series data recently collected.

  • In this paper, we introduce the subspace contrasting group identification problem and propose an algorithm to solve the problem. In order to identify contrasting groups, the algorithm first determines two groups of which attribute values are in one of the contrasting ranges specified by the analyst, and searches for the contrasting groups while increasing the dimension of subspaces with an association rule mining strategy. Because the dimension of microarray data is likely to be tens of thousands, it is burdensome to find all contrasting groups over all possible subspaces by query generation. It is very useful in the sense that the proposed method allows to find those contrasting groups without analyst's involvement.
